Friendly place to have a meal or drink. Great value and service. The chili is out of this world, especially iin an omlet with cheese.

“Brawler Pub”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 July 2013

Popped in for a few drinks. Some American guy from LA was going off on this other guy. Then he attacked him in the bar. It went out side and they came back in and it was over. The staff didn't do anything. The other customers were watching and couldn't believe this guy just starting a fight for no reason. They told him to knock it off. Stay away from these tourist trap bars. They attract a bad element and the last you want on your holiday is to get punched in the face.

“Seedy hole in the wall, but surprisingly good hot wings...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 January 2013

This small place is located down Soi 4 which we discovered was a Bangkok "working girl" hotspot. My partner and I were in search of good hot wings and saw the "best burgers" sign outside so thought we'd try it out. It's definitely a small seedy tavern, but possibly somewhat clean relative to the location.

The hot wings were actually pretty good and the burger was OK. The bar ladies were friendly. Though the place is more of a dirty American male hangout where sexism is rampant and there are naughty pics of women all over the bar so it wasn't really a restaurant we would normally go into, but I'd been missing my homestyle hot wings. Be warned, or be enticed!

“wanna feel like your at a home town joint ?”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 January 2013

great burgers, full shots of liquor(no where else that I've been
to here) and "clean bathrooms ". Small but cozy, with a friendly staff. It's easy to strike up a conversation with others and everyone is friendly. The music is not too loud, and is mostly
rythem and blues. They also serve breakfast, but I'm not
up that early.

“Best Hot Wings in the City”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 August 2012

I mean it. The hot wings at this little restaurant are very good. They are also affordable, so go ahead and keep ordering until you are full. Nothing compares to the Wings to Go franchise in South Philly, but for Bangkok, the Tavern Pub will scratch the itch. If you like your wings wet, make sure that you tell the waitress. They can handle it. And they can come as spicy as you like.

This is a very small restaurant, and it can be difficult to find amid the cacophony of Sukhumvit Soi 4. The restaurant is down the street from the infamous Nana Plaza, so the easiest way to find it is to travel down Soi 4 until you are in front of the 7-11 on the right-hand side. The Tavern is across the street from the 7-11, next to the Chequers British pub.

It is a toss up which of these two restaurants serves a better breakfast, so I will settle the dispute like this: if you like an English breakfast, complete with baked beans and fried tomatos, then go to Chequers. If you like an American breakfast, including an omelette with lots of sausage and bacon, go to The Tavern. There is no real reason to go to Chequers for any other reason, unless you are a Brit and you want to drink with your countrymen. The sandwiches and everything else at The Tavern are better, in my opinion. And the wings....well, that is the entire reason to go there.

The chili is decent, if you are brave. Sit next to the bathroom, so that you can enjoy it in confidence. They sell burgers, and they are fine, but it is tough to beat Burger King in Bangkok. A lot of establishments try, and many bold statements are bandied about, but Burger King remains the Mecca of burgers in this city.

The bathroom is small. There is a sanitary hose. The waitresses are nice. Not geniuses, so be clear and ensure that they understand what you want. They like to please. There are flat screen displays mounted on the walls, and if American sports are available, they will be on. This is a bar to watch football, if you are into that. This is not a bar to watch hockey, except during the later half of the season, after the Super Bowl.

The Tavern is located near one of the epicenters of prostitution in Bangkok, so do not be surprised if you see a lot of hookers on the street. If you are not interested in them, they will not disturb you. If you are interested in them, the cook at The Tavern can prepare a variety of Thai dishes, so buy a girl a meal.

The easiest way to escape from the madness of the neighborhood in Nana is to grab a motorcycle taxi in front of the 7-11 across the street from the restaurant. They can run you up to Sukhumvit, or to the Nana SkyTrain station. They open early, so you can grab breakfast there before you begin your day. Prices are very reasonable.

Best hot wings in Bangkok. No question.

Hope that this helps. Enjoy.
