“Yeah, it was ok.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 August 2013 via mobile

Service, tried really hard, so A star for effort but half the staff are barely out of school let alone trained in the finer arts of how to make a martini cocktail or how to say hello without sounding overly and falsely ingratiating, almost
painfully embarrassing. The other half are much older more experienced and therefor much more professional and actually very good.
Position, perfect for everywhere, access to all areas of Bangkok via all modes of public transport within easy walking distance. If you're a shopper, I guess the Siam area is for you. For me, travelling six thousand miles to go shopping would be beyond my comprehension. Particularly as everything is either cheap awful tat or the same as you'd get at home but more expensive!!
Although handily placed for ease of access to everywhere the hotel is on the side of one of the busiest
Noisiest roads in Bangkok so making the garden and pool area less than ideal for a quiet relaxing drink, swim or bite to eat. In fact the pool isn't really a pool in my opinion, rather a large water feature with lots of cascading water in an attempt to camouflage the traffic noise. Clever and pretty but unsuccessful.
Food, yeah it was ok, you won't go hungry.
Rooms, the best aspect by far, clean, modern, different, well furnished, kind of a cross between Big Brother and Alice in wonderland, not normally my cup of tea but fun and interesting and made a nice change.
Value for money, well, good luck finding something better for seventy five quid a night!
In conclusion, I don't think we'll be back, too many other hotel experiences to be had out there, but we don't feel our holiday has been diminished at all!

Pro:-
Location: very near to national museum BTS. Feel safe to walk back hotel even thou is late. Some hawker stall nearby if want to have supper. Massage shop nearby also cheap. From international airport,We went to hotel by City line MRT(red line) and exchange lane to BTS,stop at Ratchathewi station then walk to hotel within 10min. We took public taxi for return trip to Suvarnabhumi airport arrange by hotel staff cost 270B after Our trip here. Love the hotel room design.

Con: need request toiletries.one day lack of razor, the next day lack of shower cap..towel..hm...however the housekeeping responded quite fast to fulfill our request.
The complimentary bottle water had Some 'weird soaking taste' when I picked one to drink. I took other bottle..then is fine. Mb is quality problem????
Bed is hard, pillow is too..too soft.
Breakfast: one day I found a lot of flies around bread area. So I just picked some hot food that had cover. Choice of food limited, everyday almost the same.
Overall service is good.

As soon as we stepped into the hotel, we knew this was going to be different. "Good" different or "bad" different was what we had to wait for. And then .... we entered the room and were truly floored. Modern chic is the only words I can use to describe the room. The bathroom was fantastic. the bathtub was actually in the room and great way to soak and watch TV or your fave movie on the Blu ray player. They don't carry any movies, so you may want to load up that flash drive.

Arriving in Suvarnbhoomi airport for a 5N/6D vacation, we hit the taxi station and reached the hotel at 8 am. The total fare including tolls (70 baht) - 300 baht. Ended up paying 400 baht since the taxi driver insisted that's what I had to pay. However, on the way back to the airport, we had a more scrupulous driver who took only what was due.

Since our check in was not until 2 pm, we paid half a day's tariff for checking in early. This was about 1950 baht including breakfast for two. We booked the room on booking.com and paid 3900 per night for a deluxe room (garden view - room no 708) with breakfast for two.

Located just across the road from the famous MBK mall and the Siam group of malls and in close proximity to the Central mall, Platinum malls and Pantip plaza, Hua Chang was in the reckoning right away. All these malls are within a mile radius. Best explored walking. The BTS was also only just a few minutes away.

Check in was a breeze and the staff at the reception were very helpful. In fact the staff at the hotel during our entire stay were extremely helpful and courteous.
The only problem of course was their English language skills. According to Wikipedia, Thailand ranks at the bottom two when it comes to English proficiency in the entire Asian region.

Most importantly, "Siam Exchange" was right next door for our currency exchange and this place was offering the best bang for the dollar in the whole of Bangkok. Please carry your passports though.

We ate once at the only in house restaurant in the hotel. Nothing to actually write home about with regards to the fare. Could have been definitely better. Breakfast was only so so.
A spa would have been a great addition. The pool seemed to be small yet very inviting the way it was designed to appear something like a tropical pond.

I would definitely stay here again, since all the places (malls) are nearby and the area is not congested like Sukhumvit. However, Sukhumvit is close by and can be accessed by BTS if you don't want to be stuck in the notorious Bangkok traffic.

FYI:
If you are looking for branded, original sunglasses/ watches/ cosmetics / fragrances, skip the malls of Bangkok. The promotions they offer are a big farce. Wait till you get to the airport. The prices at the malls were ridiculous and the discounts were in the range of 70% but still at least 20% pricier than the duty free shopping at the airport.

I was thoroughly disgusted with myself for paying 5500 baht at Siam square for a pair of sunglasses that was selling at only 4500 baht at the airport. And I got a discount 20% !!

Don't forget to get your VAT refund certificates from the stores your shopping in the city. They are not going to remind you, but be aware you can get 7% of the sale back at the airport. The sale has to be over 2000 baht and you have to get the certificate the same day. There will be a long wait as the person behind the counter will check and recheck and recheck again to refund the money. BTW you have to go the last entry in the airport, get your stuff verified from one counter and then go the gates to get your refund. Tedious. May be fun for some. Can be skipped altogether of you were to shop dutyfree at the airport.

Very nice hotel. We arrived one hour earlier at the airport and they were already waiting for us at almost midnight! We spent four nights, went to Angkor Wat and came back to spend one last night. We left all our big luggage with the buttler while we were away. They took good care of it and it was free.
As everybody has mentioned it, it is in a perfect location! You can easily take the BTS (National Stadium station) that takes you directly to the Taskien Pier where you get in the ferry to go NOrth: Grand Palace, Nonthaburi, etc. Although it is in the corner of two big avenues it is in a calmer area than if you choose to stay in any other hotel close to Suhkmuvit (soi 23, 24, etc). Although there are less litte shops around but you still have the enormous MBK with lots of vendors.
You can go walking to Siam Centre and eat at the big food court or have a pizza right around the corner in a little street on the way to the BTS station.
We liked the breakfast and did not get sick. Go for it if it is included with the room, if not it is 24 USD per person. I will definitely go back!

My husband and I spent 3d2n at this boutique hotel which just had its grand opening in January this year. Facilities are pretty new, services are welcoming. Since it's pretty new, on our last stay we saw a crew of local TV production team shooting for commercial ads.

Overall we love it's boutique styled rooms and decor, the bed and pillow make me feel like home! Their porters are very helpful as to arrange airport taxi service well before we mention it. And its really sweet that they greeted you with their traditional two palm closed gestures, to make sure the guests are being attended at all times.

Perfect location, with the BTS and Siam Centre closed by. but the breakfast is quite disappointing with its limited selections and lack of freshness, as we both had diarrhea after we had the Thai traditional sweet cakes that places at the noodle booth outside the restaurant.

Nice hotel with nice decorated room and good location near the shopping malls (MBK, Siam Bragon, Siam Center), and close to the train BTS train station. Free Wi-Fi. Helpful staff.

But the breakfast was poor with little choices.

This hotel is a fantastic find in a really busy area of Bangkok. Close to all the best shopping at MBK, the train BTS train station, walking distance to Siam Paragon/Siam Center etc. The rooms are over the top trendy, really nice use of space for shower, bath tub and bathroom area. Everything in the room is controlled by a high tech tablet. Everything flowed easily and i loved the high tech gadgets in the bathroom, lol. Nice warm toilet seat, what's not to love? Only minus for us was the dine in options, not a varied selection, but reception butler was helpful in obtaining food that we wanted outside the hotel. Great find, will visit again!
