iCheck Inn Silom is my go- to recommendation for all my travelling friends staying in Bangkok. We are all in our late- twenties or older now and slumming it in a dorm or dingy hotel is not an option for us.

Rooms have large windows, modern design, and feel very open. California- style.

iCheck Inn Silom has nicer rooms than other hotels which charge twice the price! Because of the empty lot nextdoor, most 4th floor rooms have city views of the skyscrapers of Sathorn. Huge plus! Lots of natural light.

Rooms come with all the amenities- full minibar, ramen noodles, coffee, refrigerator. Sink and mirror is separate from shower for convenience. Double rooms are spacious enough for 3 and come with an extra sofa.

Amazing deal! You won't regret staying here if you want to spend less than 1500THB a night. My new favorite "flashpacker" mid- range hotel.

Room Tip: Request a higher floor! Bring a USB and connect it to the WiFi to view your shows in bed. Request la...

Dear guests,

Thank you for your great review and comments.

We try to allocate guests into high floors. Most of deluxe rooms offer greater views...a small fee is required for an upgrade.

Thank you once again for staying with us

The reception area is very stylish with a gourmet coffee/ hot chocolate machine - which was a huge hit for the whole family.

The room was large and very nicely furnished. It had a separate kitchenette area with a table making it perfect for an extended stay.

The pool area is lacking, but we were more interested in seeing the sites and the price was right.

I stayed here for 15 nights May/June 2014. Rooms are quite compact but big enough for two people with a comfortable double bed, sofa & small bathroom with shower. Modern TV with enabled hdmi input. The building is nice and clean and modern. The reception staff are very polite and helpful & have those beautiful Thai smiles all day long. There is a lift & free WiFi & a reception computer that is free to use. Cleaners were efficient and respected the do not disturb sign unlike some hotels I have stayed in. Location is very good. It is at the bottom of a small alley, tucked away from the bustle of Silom Road, if you want a taxi you can just hail one from the road, they pass by every few seconds, tuktuks are everywhere but more expensive than taxis. Silom Road runs parallel to Sathorn Road. The sky train at Surasak BTS Station on Sathon road is about 10 - 15 minutes easy walk and it takes you all the way down to the National Stadium for the MBK center (10 min) shopping mall or change at SalaDaeng for the train to Chatuchak market..(35 min) all very easy and cheap to do. I would be happy to stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for a view, most rooms seem to face other housing.

This is a fantastic hotel, tucked down an alley about 10 mins walk from Silom Sky Train and 15 or so minutes walk to the night market. The rooms are large and modern and the receptionists were extremely helpfull. When I return to Thailand this will be my hotel of choice.

Only thing I would say is that the hotel is, initially, difficult to find as there are no signs at the entrance to the alley, you have to go by the address. There is a masage parlour at the side of the hotel and the staff are often in chairs at the entrance to the alley ( I think this is a "legit" massage and the staff were always friendly and courteous to me - despite me not taking up their services).

One other tip try to avoid a room backing onto the lift shaft as it can be quite noisy.

The only thing about the hotel I would not recommend is booking a tour through them. This has nothing to do with the hotel, more to do with the company they use. I waited 2 hours to be picked up one morning to go to the "Floating Market" when we got there it was all but closed and then I had a battle with the tour guide who tried to insist I paid extra to go to an Elephant Show and to be photographed with tigers - despite what you are told these are cruel practises - I would urge you to avoid.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room facing away from the main road and avoid a room backing onto the lift shaft.

Dear Steve,

Greetings from iCheck inn Silom !

Thank you very much for your comments and feed back, always useful to improve our existing operations and services.

Glad to read about your positive feed back with regards to our property and level of service. We look forward to welcoming you back. We have not bee able to add outside street signages but silom soi 28 is actually easy to find.

With regards to the disappointing level of service that occurred during your tours and sightseeing in Bangkok, we completely agree and would like to clarify the following:

We have recently reviewed our selection of third party suppliers as such practices are not acceptable and have therefore incorporated “iTours” within our hotel lodging offerings to control the quality of the tours and value for money.

It is disappointing indeed to see the practices of some outside operators. Nothing to unfortunately do to improve the traffic jam in Bangkok…however the wrongly low priced advertised by some travel agents force the guests to join group tours and not letting you the freedom to modify the route and schedule of the tours.

Our new tour packages are tailor made. Our qualified English speaking tour guides and cars offer greater comfort and all flexibility you need to visit Bangkok sites and upcountry attractions.

We look forward to welcoming you again and hope you will notice the difference on our new sightseeing programs when you return.

Thank you once again

The staff could not be more friendly and helpful at the front counter(they even put a sim card in my new phone for me)A nice seating area downstairs and a desk top computer for everyones use.Wifi in the rooms is good. The room is large clean and the bathrooms good.Very quiet in the rooms as it as has been mentioned is down an alley way.No noise what so ever from the busy Silom Road. There is a market down a road quite close which is worth a look. The river is a short walk and the Pat Pong market and the main Surrywong Road nightlife district is only a 15 minute walk away.Honestly a great place to stay!

Room Tip: All rooms are good.

The location is around Silom road. First time being stay near Silom road, so we kinda had difficulty to find the hotel. Been walking following the Soi sign board and we missed it because this hotel located inside an alley of Soi 28 so you may look inside an alley to find it out.

First arrived, the staff is very friendly and helpful to show nearby areas. The lobby is cute enough to me, feels like home. Great attractive painting, unique furniture with bid LED Tv and some DVD'd in the lobby. Smoking area is outside the hotel just in front of the hotel , they provide some chairs for smokers.

The room is completely clean, feels like it is quite brand new (IMO, from it looks) and everything inside is good. Breakfast is not available but they do serve coffee and bread near the lobby side.

Since it is my first time in Silom road, we just realised some inconvenience things around the area. There are so many tuk-tuk drivers that will fool you around if you are not wise and becareful enough. They are everywhere in the road to catch the tourist and offers some short day tour , worst is in our case;

We wanted to go to some place and get to tuk2 driver. He said he will take us there BUT it is not directly to our destinations. He will bring you around to stop to GEM STONE shop. They will said 5 minutes only pls take a look inside, we are refusing and I am a bit mad of it, he said pls help because the gemstone owner sponsor him the petrol. Me and my partner agreed and come in. They will start to offer you many kind of gemstones even giving you an idea that teir gemstones are the best and if you sell it back in US, UK and SEasia you will get 100% profit (Insane lol!!). At the end your time will be dragged from plan, we spent 4 hours on the road just because this tuk2 driver really fooled us. It was only supposed to be 2 hrs.

The next day, we wanted to go to the Chao Phraya River tour, again we facing the same problems. We avoid the tuk2 driver and choose taxi, but whenever we stop the taxi where there is tuk2 driver, taxi driver will refused to go to our destination. So we once again took the tuk2 and kinda like stated to him only to this destination!! He said yes, but No it wasn't and they will fool you said that all the attraction is close on sunday and instead they will bring you to the gemstone area!

I noticed, iCheckInn Silom is helpin with this issues. They stick and information board inside the elevators said that all tourist must be becareful of the Tuk2 Driver scam and there is no such a close place during holiday (I wish I read it earlier)

The hotel is perfect, but the area was terrible!

Dear guests,

Thank you very much for sharing with us and other travelers your feed back on the hotel and area.

Most of guests do enjoy Silom Road which provided an easy access to nearby attractions, restaurants. It is just to regret that I read about the Tuk Tuk drivers who try to take advantage of tourists while visiting the great sites available in Bangkok.

We always try to provide tips at reception on where to go, how to get there...either on your own or simply to book a guided tour to avoid the traps and inconveniences you experiences.

Thank you once again for your great comments on the hotel and our team which we have shared internally.

Best regards

Situated 15 min walk from Patpong. Good rooms for you money, with average bathrooms. Not easy to find at first, it´s on a litlle alley on Silom Road, but that is a advantage because it protects from the stree noise. The only problem is that there is no breakfast and in the the nearby area aren´t some many options.
