The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam

My friends and I stayed at the Main tower. We noticed that our 2 separate luxury rooms are of different sizes for the same type and price of room. Nevertheless, both rooms are kept equally clean. On certain nights, there is loud music which could penetrate into the room (I'm not sure of the source).

The reception was a bit slow but polite. The lobby is extremely spacious with plenty of seats around. The main areas of the hotel are well-decorated with pretty chandeliers and Christmas trees. The Christmas tree outside the hotel and the mall is beautiful too. The swimming pool was a little small for swimming but the layout was nice. Stable wifi is available in the rooms, lobby and dining area.

The hotel is conveniently located near Platinum mall and Pratunum market for shopping. The Big C supermarket is at close proximity too. It is easier to hail for taxi outside the hotel along the roads rather than relying on the Concierge (unless you are heading to the airport). There are numerous night markets near the hotel. The Salt-baked fish just outside Palladium Mall along the streets is delicious and I highly recommend it!

Overall, I enjoyed my stay there and I will consider staying there again in Bangkok.

One of the best hotels I have stayed so far in BKK. Except that the family room was located at the north tower, our family (2 adults, 2 children) had to stop at level 11 from main tower, transfer to take the linking bridge to go to north tower. We had done lots of shopping in BKK, 2 x 30kgs baggages full of newly bought things. Plus our own clothings from SG. It is impossible to carry them ourself. This is just one thing that I dont like about the hotel. Plus we also had breakfast buffet separately. I will recommend pay extra to stay main tower.

Other than this, another family staying at the main tower ( 3 adults ) no complains at all, The double is big enough for the 3 of us. Buffet breakfast is fantastic. Always looking forward to the breakfast which could last the whole day. Happy with the food they served, making me feel very comfortable. Sat/sun there is night bazaar just downstairs @ the Pandullum shopping mall. As there is protestors in certains areas of BKK, we dare not go too far. Otherwise walking from the Citlom BTS to hotel is about 20 mins. Daytime is ok but not nighttime for me. Nearby I always patronise M&B massage (10 hrs, 1 hr free) 199 baut. Thumps up!

Room Tip: Please pay more to stay main tower, you will not regret it.

Book this hotel for my September Trip to Bangkok ...... This hotel is located at Pratunam Area, walking distance to Platinum Mall ...... I book a room for 3 pax and we are given a corner room. Its located at the other wing which u must take a lift from the main lobby to level 11 and walk across to access the other wing. It is very spacious and the overall experience is good.

The hotel is new. It means the facilities are relatively new too but most taxi drivers wont know the place. The check in counter staff spoke little/bad English and the housekeeping forgot to give us a hand soap on the first day. There was also visible dust on the toiletries tray and tissue box. However, the pool was nice (though small) and the breakfast buffet was quite good. The bed and pillows were comfortable and great after a day of shopping. I opted for the luxury suite at the main tower cos I did not want to transfer to other towers at the 11th floor. The hotel is quite a distance from the Airport Rail Link and train stations, but we walked to Centralworld and Big C. Pratunam Market and Mall, as well as Palladium Fashion Mall, are nearby but they are not that interesting. I dont see any good eateries nearby too. If you are an early riser like me, you may want to pay for the breakfast buffet instead of wandering around for food (there is a Toms N Toms and McDonald's nearby only)

Room Tip: Choose rooms from the main tower so u dont have to keep transferring at the 11th floor.

Got a good deal for a short weekend trip. Location is fantastic and room is huge with sofa and ample space in between. Large toilet too... However did not have a good night rest due to the loud air con that switch on and off according to temperature setting throughout the night. Walls are quite thin and can hear doors closing... It was a Sunday morning and vacuuming outside caused quite a disturbance especially when you don't get a good night rest.
Will not be staying here ....

Room Tip: High floor to get the best view of Siam city view

To start off with, we stayed at the South wing, so it must be the "budget" section...
It's a long way to get from the lobby to the room as we need to get off on the 11th floor, walk from one section of the hotel to another before we can get another lift to get to our room; not a big deal, but it can be a slight pain especially during the peak time when alot of people are waiting for the lift.
We had the corner room on the 20th floor; the room was big, but badly designed... the bathroom was really small compare to the size of the room with only a shower. no bath. there were no sofa or comfortable seats for a big room we had except for standard chairs; bed was big, but when we arrived we noticed some stains on side of the bed cover, room also was not 100% clean when we first checked in. even when the staff told us there were complimentary water, but they were missing as well. However, the bed was king size and was comfortable. if this was a transit hotel, then its acceptable, but as a luxury hotel, it was disappointing. oh, forget about the view... unless you enjoy looking at smog covered horizon, and run down old buildings below.

Swimming pool was a nice feature, but was pretty small.

The hotel is situated in an awkward location. its a long walk to the airport express train line, and from the closest sky train, it is near a cross road, so traffic is heavy, which makes crossing the road from one side to another a difficult task without using the crossover bridge (added difficulties if pulling luggage or carrying alot of shoppings) plenty of taxis and tuk tuks outside our hotel though;

There are a few shopping centers near the hotel, with a cloths whole sellers market around the corner and plenty of night stalls set up out side. It is connected to a shopping center next to it, but at the moment it is still mostly unoccupied with only a few shops open. Major shopping centers around the corner makes up for it.

Food selection here is kind of disappointing compared to other hotels I have stayed around Bangkok. We have not eaten at the hotel, but who does here in Bangkok, we are talking about food stalls or local restaurants.... there are minimal number of them here.... Along the main side of the hotel had only one or two restaurants... but if you walk further down there are a few local side stalls located there... food selection is minimal there. Opposite us there is a "famous" chicken rice stall ppl all go to eat, so expect long ques and wait, but to be honest, if you have eaten chicken rice from Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, etc... its nothing special... However, there is a old guy that sells "Yao Cha Gua" which is like a deep fried pastry... well worth it at around 10bht each...

Overall, its a good hotel, but don't expect it to be luxurious though...

Room Tip: dont stay on the south wing...
