A nice way to spend a couple of hours is to visit Jim Thompson House. The place is just a short walk from the Stadium BTS. JT House even provides a golf-cart ride from the main road but really it just takes a few minutes to walk there from BTS. The group tours are not too large and nice enough so that you can pick up everything that the guide is saying. The story of Jim Thompson and the house is truly very interesting.

Beautiful house and garden and an intriguing story behind the whole history of Jim Thompsons time in the USA and Thailand.

wonderful house. wonderful story about this mysterious architect and ... secret agent?! We had a French speaking guide, that was great because our english is not good. We had a coffee and cake after the tour. very lovely. doesn't seem to be in bangkok.

The Jim Thompson House is a worthwhile stop. It's a building style that is missing in the vast majority of the city, and the gardens and grounds are a nice juxtaposition to the ultra modern Ratchaprasong neighborhood where it's located. I would've liked to learn more about Jim Thompson himself, but the house tour was very good.

Helps if you understand a bit of the incredible Jim Thompson story. Tour is about 25 minutes. Store is decent. Restaurant very average.
