The hotel is situated a bit out of the tourist track, but it is close to a BRT (fast bus) stop with easy connection to the Skytrain.
Service was discrete and helpful, despite the poor level of english. There is free wifi in the lobby. I didn't see any white tourists, mostly Chinese and Indians. In the dining room there were signs in chinese and arabic.

It is best to book online or via an agency as the hotel website doesn't seem to work.
Online prices are 50% cheaper than at the counter. Ex: my room cost £20 online, or £40 if booked directly at the counter.

I am surprised to have read reviews about dated rooms, as mine was impeccable, so it may have been refurbished recently. The bathroom was fine, with some light humidity marks in the corners.

The hotel will give you a coupon to be handed in in the breakfast room in the morning. The buffet had three areas : Chinese food (noodles, pork, etc.), fresh fruit and jam, and toast / fruit squash. Not extraordinary but acceptable.

Overall a positive experience.

Room tip: Rooms overlooking the pool have the better view, but I suspect rooms overlooking the back streets are the quietest.

very nice foyer and restaurant and pool.
staff ok,
room dated but clean and comfortable, breakfast, buffet style, had a very wide range, enough to cater for all palates.free water, clean sheets and towels everyday.room service works as well.bar is nicely decorated
we downloaded a map of directions before we arrived which proved invaluable.the hotel is off the main rd but is well provided for reguards public transport,
metered taxis being the cheapest and most comfortable, just ask at the reception and one will arrive ,usually within minutes.
i,d definately stay here again

Room tip: the hotel lies with rooms facing east or west,so depends wether you want to be woken by the sun early,or get cooked on the balcony pm

This is a quiet hotel off the normal tourist track. Even so, we could get anywhere we wanted to go for under 80 Baht ($3). The hotel caters to mostly Chinese tourists; Westerners are few and far between. Cruise the neighborhood and eat like the local people do. It's a fantastic place to immerse yourself in the real Thai culture.

The good:
Check in was handled smoothly and competently, despite our midnight arrival.
Our room was spacious and comfortable with 2 comfortable sitting chairs.
The bed was not too hard - unlike many hotel beds in Thailand.
Housekeeping was very accommodating in giving us an extra sheet for the bed; original equipment was a feather comforter way too warm for Thailand.
The front desk was extremely helpful in getting us taxis and insuring that the drivers knew our destination.
Prices for the mini-bar were reasonable enough that we used it regularly. I like places that forego opportunities to gouge.
Our balcony overlooked several upscale, wealthy compounds.

Not So good:
Lighting in the from was dim. It was impossible to read by the bedside lamp alone.
Pool area is a little worn and dated, but clean. There were several missing tiles.
Hot Water was hit or miss.
No wi-fi in the rooms and the Internet access was outrageously priced for Thailand. Go to an Internet cafe.

I was one of the unfortunates who were booked by a Indian travel agency to stay here. The staff are the worst lot. They even asked me for bribes to heat baby food in microwave oven. The rooms are ancient. Even the phone in the room was made in 1970. The hotel is far off and the taxi drivers want to loot you to transport you in the night.
My advice: Better sleep on Bangkok roads than checking in here.
