“This is the place where...”

...where you can see bright and dark side of Bangkok and Thailand. Prostitutes on every corner, white men with their company, beggars, restaurants, street market, pimps...

If you went there for sex tour, this is perfect place for you. If you just a tourist you must go there either. Sukhumvit shows what's best in Bangkok, like great tailors, restaurants from all around the world and great street food. Dark side are obviously pimps. Prostitues are not very intrusive, they are just waiting for the client and if you say "no", they will leave you alone. My mrs was offered their services couple of times, what was quite funny.

We had dinner in typical Thai street dining, atmosphere was brilliant, we didn't aim well with the food, but it was worth it anyway. Try it, you won't regret it.

One of the best place to stay in Bangkok as it is centrally located for day as well as night life . Totally entertaining and interesting place as it is very different at day and different at night .

“Sunset boulevard Thai-style”
Reviewed 23 May 2014

This area is not for families with children, not for those who are looking sights and temples. But for all the others who enjoy street food (the choice is huge), who or international cuisine (There are great restaurants from almost every corner of the world!) Or those who simply like to stroll along the mile-long night market. This can be very hot and the walkways are sometimes quite narrow. It is also important to look at the way that you do not stumble. There is a wide range of accommodation options in all price ranges. The location is awesome (around the Asoke, soi 11 to soi 31) because of the intersection of Sky Train and Subway. Deeper into the side street, it is quiet as close to Sukhumvit, except on the ground floor is a karaoke bar. That takes us to the night life. As well, almost all wishes of customers from many countries are met. Around the corner of Soi 11 and Sukhumvit is at night a wonderful street life. There are many small mobile bars, food stalls and tables. Eat and meet. Man and woman. The disadvantages of Sukhumvit area are, of course, that the area might seem a bit grubby, the elevated railway over Sukhumvit takes away a lot of daylight, and it is a traffic chaos, noisy and stinky. And hot. One cannot have everything.

“Something great in the day, something different at night”
Reviewed 18 May 2014

I visited Sukhumvit in December as both a single tourist and as a guide for my friends on their honeymoon. As I explained to them this is Bangkok’s main strip and hub offering a feast of bars, eateries, shops, shopping centres and hotels and a collection of side roads (sois) that multiply that selection at least tenfold. If there’s anything particular you want to buy or try you stand a better chance somewhere down this road. At night, as would expected, only the adults come out as do night stalls and temporary alcohol outlets. If you ever get lost, look up and try to follow the skytrain to the nearest station.
