“Great water taxis”

The cheapest and most beautiful way to get up and down in Bangkok. They to the main temples and monuments, and many neighborhoods. Ride with the locals, it is so much more interesting.

“Take a ride”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 May 2014

If you're staying at one of the excellent hotels alongside the Chao Phraya River, get your concierge to tell you about boat trips to a floating market. The long boats are an adventure in themselves - the operators hold a long pole that is directly connected to a big block American auto engine. It's noisy, fast, fun.

“Chao Phraya River Tours and Boats”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 May 2014

We stayed at the Shangri La Hotel adjacent to the Sathorn (Central) Pier. (Pier and hotel are adjacent to the BTS Skytrain station.) The Chao Phraya Tourist Boat provides a very enjoyable, cost effective, and easy method to travel to many of the top Bangkok tourist sites while avoiding traffic,

“Bangkok - Chao Phraya River - Great way of getting around and also relaxing from the hustle and bustle”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 May 2014

We used the river a few times to get around Bangkok and I must say it is easy to do, cheap and a great way to relax, if only for a short while if you are not travelling far. It offers some great sights from more local areas to some of the main attractions but the one thing that stood out for me was the amount of catfish. We first boarded on the Thewes Pier and to see the catfish here was amazing. They were fighting each other for a spot of water never mind air or food. Then when crossing the river they were continually popping up everywhere. They are big fish too and I would have hated to have fallen in as I would thought you'd struggle to keep you head up. Use the transport on the river it is a great alternative and you have to see the fish. Amazing.

“Nice view”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 May 2014

See and explore the Chao Phraya River during visit Bangkok with family. Nice river view combined with buidings and temples. Then lights view in the evening. You can have a trip with boat and have a dinner there. Unfortunately, we didn't have much time there as we just stayed in Bangkok for 4 days. But It's ok for a short experience. Wish can be back to explore the river more next time.
