If you are in this area of town then by all means check this one out. The admission is a bit pricey, but you are contributing to the hospital that prepares all the anti-venoms for use around Asia. Check the schedule for the snake handling show. These people are crazy! They play with live cobras that strike at them, as well as other dangerous snakes. I har a photo teken of me with a big python around my neck ... just for fun. At least they don't bite. Worth the visit.

I went to the snake handling show and thought it was phenomenal. I'm from the U.S. and had never seen anything like this. The handlers are insane. They don't use sticks or gloves when handling the venomous snakes, and they prompt the cobras to try to bite them. One of the handlers even got bit by a really aggressive, non-venomous rat snake during my show. Overall, this was one of the most exciting live shows I've ever seen. I hate snakes, perhaps that's why it was so exciting. It was about a 5 minute walk from the metro station and was well worth the money in my mind. I didn't find the exhibits to be anything too special. The daily live handling show is what makes this place special.

PLEASE BE AWARE!
I created an account just address this issue. The Snake Farm is an excellent attraction, but it is located 3 blocks West of the mapped location, on Rama IV. If you ride a bus (for example, 14) to the Royal Sports Club stop, you need to cross Ratchadamri and Henri Dunant (to the right,) and not walk past Lumphini park (left.)

With that out of the way, I highly recommend this attraction. Get there ahead of the 11 am milking, then head another block West, cross Rama IV and visit Wat Hua Lumphong, a beautiful (and free) temple. Head back across Rama IV and hang out in various bookstores in the Chula shopping mall until it's time to go back for the handling at 2:30, get a seat and hang on for a hair-raising encounter with a dozen venomous snakes from across Thailand, and an awesome albino Burmese python.

It is a fun couple of hours. you can see all types of snakes including the king cobra which is very cool. has a nice outside viewing area and air condition inside viewing area also. we stayed and watched the venom of the pit viper being miliked. very cool to see. the acoustics in the room are terrible. we could not understand the presenter at all. we enjoyed the 2 hour experience.

We came for the venom extraction demonstration at 11am which was well presented and very informative on the history of the farm and then a demonstration on how they milk the venom. Then you can view a large variety of venomous and non venomous snakes in well kept terrariums and larger outdoor enclosures. The terrariums are all well maintained and clean, and are labelled as to whether they are venomous and where they hail from as long as you read the key as you enter from outside.

The museum is extremely informative and interesting with exhibits on different types of venom, first aid and snake biology. Some preserved specimens and skeletons are on show, and all the vids come in Thai and English.

The 2:30 handling presentation stole the show though. Very impressive examples of snake handling as well as some beautiful snakes up close and personal. They also allow you to hold and have a picture taken with a Burmese python as well for no extra fee at the end.

Additionally, you can leave and reenter on the same day if you retain your ticket. They also have a small restaurant that serves some basic, but satisfactory food at about 40bht. Did get the impression that it is dual pricing for foreigners than for locals though.

In conclusion, a great time was had, and if you love snakes it's a must do. For 200baht its very reasonable and you can do it in an hour if not in BKK for long and pressed for time. However, you could do as we could and stay all day as it's as good a place to chill out as any.
Will visit again.
