“Very Nice”
Reviewed 28 November 2013

I enjoyed this little stop. It was a little but steep hike to the top, so bring a bottle of water. There are some great views of the surrounding city with its diverse types of structures: temples, modern and low cost.

“Interesting place”
Reviewed 28 November 2013

We had a quick stop at this place for our first look at a temple in Thailand. It is worth the climb to the temple at the top. Has an interesting view of Bangkok on the roof.

“Free food surprise”
Reviewed 27 November 2013

I went to this monument in a bad mood and returned in a great one. First, it was the delicious free food. After looking for many days, I finally found coconut disc-shaped pancakes here! The tea, coffee, Som Tum, Pad Thai, soup, etc. were all delicious and yes, I had them all. Next, the climb up for the view is a must. This was the best view of Bangkok for me.

“Thought it was free but there was a cost”
Reviewed 26 November 2013

We'd headed across to the Golden Mount because we'd read in our guidebook that it was a free fantastic way to see across the whole of Bangkok. Whilst some other reviewers have also agreed it was free, when we went you were only allowed part way up and had to pay to access the very top which we didn't bother to do. I don't know whether they've recently started charging or whether it was because we went on a bank holiday (the King's birthday).
The views were good from half way up but it was very crowded so we spent a lot of the time queuing.
It's an ok visit for if you're in the area but unless you're willing to pay to go to the top I wouldn't go out of your way to visit it.

“Not so famous, but well worth the visit”
Reviewed 26 November 2013 via mobile

You have to look a little bit for it and, even though it's not all that far from the Grand Palace, I guess it's not that well known (I only saw about 15 other tourists while I was there). It's quite the climb to get up, but it's well worth it. Besides the beauty of Wat Saket itself, it offers you an amazing view of the city that you can't get anywhere else.
