“Fantastic for the budget!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 August 2014

We stayed here for 3 nights and found it to be a great choice. It had all the amenities a 4 star would offer. The staff was courteous and helpful though english is a bit of a problem with them but then there is sign language that unites all. There were loud noises through out the first night of our stay from the AC duct, they tried to fix it but when the problem continued they duly changed our room.

The room and bathroom are well maintained, clean, spacious and very pleasingly decorated. The hotel is in a lane and not on the main street and that helps since one doesn't hear the traffic noise in the night. There is a small pool area too. Patpong Night market is close, the train is a 5 mins walk. The main street is buzzing through the night. Very conveniently located.

Stayed 2 nights here on a Bangkok shopping stopover. Great location close to Rail and walking distance to Silom shopping, Restaurants and patpong market. Rooms are lovely and big but bathrooms need a huge makeover they are dark dingy and moldy. Staff at Reception quite friendly but food and beverage staff safe rude and not interested. Overall a decent place for 1 or 2 nights.

Hotel just right the corner at Silom area as you can find a good food on the street during morning.... But I first time stay at this hotel for 7 days and didn't know that was so good about the nightshift staff and even the shower was cold and hot all the time. During the cleaning lady clean your room as she saw you bought a extra water as she won't give you hotel complimentary water at all after that even a wifi too was bad which it only one wifi can use for one person in a room. The second can't use at all...

We stayed 8 nights at the Silom Serene in May, 2014 and were very satisfied. The breakfast was good, the position was very good, it had a pool and gym, it had free wifi, the staff helped twice with phone calls for shows. Some reviews have said that it is dated. Maybe it was the 1960's bathroom tiles - so what? The room was large, it had a writing table. The best surprise was that they delivered a newspaper every morning.
We reached the hotel from Suvarnabhumi Airport using instructions from a TA reviewer so I will repeat them for fellow travellers. We caught the train from the airport to the end which was Phaya Thai station for 45 bahts. There we changed and got a ticket to Sala Daeng station for 28 bahts, We changed trains after 2 stations at Siam and then 2 stations to Sala Daeng. Get off the station on the left as the train goes and walk 400 metres in the same direction as the train travels to a street sign that says 'Phipapat" or similar and the Silom serene is 50 metres up this street.
We would stay there again.

Room Tip: They have some floors for smokers and we got a smokers room which stunk a bit but they opened the wi...

Stayed here for Songkran. The staff are very friendly although the night staff feels like the police in scrutinizing the people who go in. They are very helpful in helping book restaurants and activities in Bangkok.
The rooms are just ok, outdated. I dont like that they put us in a smoking floor thought. The room wifi sucks, so slow. And the wifi can only be used by one person even if we booked for two.
The breakfast is ok but I dont like that you have to show coupons like it w as a cafeteria. The room service is ok although next to impossible to order as the english of the staff is confusing.
The pool is nice although the jacuzzi doesnt work.
I also disagree with the other reviews, the location is not great. There are other places within the same price range in Silom that are more convenient.

The hotel is a bit dated, but the location and value are great. The staff is helpful and the room is a decent size. There are some issues with dank bathrooms and dated appointments. The markets and mass transit are very close and the hotel is one I would use again.

I have been to Silom Serene a few times and very much like the location and the friendly staff. It is in a small street just off Silom Road, so it is rather quiet but after a minute´s walk, you find yourself in the hustle and bustle of Silom Road. Getting anywhere in Bangkok is easy. Staff is always nice. The rooms are okay, they have seen better days and in particular the bathrooms need some upgrading. There is free wifi in the rooms, but the code they give you is only good for one device, so if there are two travellers with their computers or telephones, only one of them can use it in the room. This is something that I also found a bit annoying. At night, the place got quite busy with many Westerners and their Thai "girlfriends" and the noise of their joint activities kept me from sleeping on one night. I don´t know how helpful this is to the hotel´s image.
