If you align your expectations with the price, you'll be pleased with this hotel. It is clean, in a good location, and nice rooms. The main complaint is the lifts - two lifts servicing over 20 floors creates a real bottleneck if the place is full, so go for a lower room and use the stairs! I found the staff helpful, the food decent, and the pool and sauna nice. If you're looking for 4-5 star, then pay 5 times as much and go to the Hilton, but for a nice and inexpensive time in Bangkok, you could do worse than the Grand Tower!

Room Tip: Lower floor eliminates having to wait for the overused lifts.

The only good thing about the place is the room...its quite spacious.. However the staff is very curt to English speaking guests..there is not a single english channel on the 21 inch box TV.
U need to keep a security deposit for every single thing.. not very accesible to tourist destination . require a taxi for even going to a decent restaurant.Definitely does not make you feel like your on a holiday....

Well, dont expect much from the hotel though it says Grand Tower Inn. :)
At first place staff is not at all helpfull. People don't want to speak to you if you talk in English.
Rooms are good. But if you choose to stay at floor where you cant go without lift then it's terrible because lifts are busy in the morning time. N u keep on waiting for your turn.
Location wise it's good.

This is my second visit to Bangkok. The hotel was booked through Club Mahindra who is affiliated to Grand Tower. Previously wen we visited we stayed at Citadines and were very impressed with the hotel and location. But this time we decided to stay at another venue and unfortunately were very disappointed.

Leg 1 of our holiday was at Koh Samui and next stop was at Bangkok. While at Koh Samui i asked the front desk to call Grand Tower and book an airport pickup, which as per the executive they confirmed. But the weird thing was they didnt even ask for the flight no. or time. So i had my doubts if they would turn up, and i was right, there was one one.

We ended up taking a cab which came to 300THB, but had to search for the hotel. Check in time was at 4:00 PM we arrived at around 12:00 PM. But they gave us the room by 1:00 PM. Check in was pretty smooth, we had to deposit 2000THB and a copy of our passports.

That the lobby we were accousted by a lady fom the travel desk who was litrally forcing us to go on cruises and cabre shows, which we were not interested in. She was making our itnery right in front of us and telling us where to go and what to do during our stay, this was after we told her we were not interested. It was annoying as we were tired from our morning flight.

Our room was on the 18th floor, the room was not acceptional and pretty basic. There was a fridge with 4 bottles of water complimentry, which was the only thing that was complimentry as even the tea and coffee and sugar satched were chargeable at 15THB and a Chargeable mini bar which we didnt use. A microwave was above the fridge with a notice saying if anything was COOKED in it there would be a fine of 2000THB levied. which was ridiculous.

The room also had a connecting door in the living room which was thankfully locked and there was another couple staying there, who lets say liked to be loud. It was uncomfortable for us as we sometimes couldnt have our breakfast or dinner in the sitting room.

The bathroom had a leakage from the wash basin that would wet the entire floor, and housekeeping would just put towels there instead of fixing it. The very narrow bath tub which doubled up as a shower area was dirty with yellow stains. We even had mosquittos biting us.One mosquittos that was killed near the tub was not even cleaned up.

The good thing is the hotel is close to Chatuchak weekend market, by cab it was around 40THB. But to Platinum Mall and Indra Market it was around a 100THB.

The hotel also was a restraunt which had a saving menu from 5pm to 9pm any dish at 70THB. We ate dinner there most of the times.Even the A la carte menu was quite good nothing exceded 170-200THB even the Cocktails. Our drinks were made well. There is also a small hotel next door where we ate once which was quite decent.

We didnt use the pool or the spa, as this trip was mainly for shopping, so we were there most of the time.

I would only recommed the place to those who would want to shop at Chatuchak over the weekend, as that place is dirty cheap with good quality stuff.

if u want to explore bangkok,it is an ideal place coz all vehicles are near by. it is at the heart of the city.good view from the room.skytrain is at walkable distance.rooms are very clean.remember what they keep in fridge r payable except BOTTLE WATER.bobbymarket is(cheap but quality dress materials) 4km away;when u come back from bobby market u walk 0.5km then take taxi.BUT IT IS MY HUMBLE ADVICE PLEASE WALK MORE TO ENJOY UR HOLIDAY.u can go n ,come at any time,no body noticing.u can purchase milk from outside n 1st floor kitchen people vl make it hot n u can use it.outside one cheap hotel is there, but very neat n clean.they know n speak english better than one who sit and welcome at the front office.the front office people are too busy there.PLEASE DONT MAKE TELEPHONE CALLS from the hotel,it is toooooo expensive.i lost my mobile in a taxi.fortunately driver's no.was with me.i put my full effort to make the receptionist understand the episode and try to get back my mobile.but i failed.at last one security officer talked with the driver and he kept the mobile at the front reception at midnight after i slept.morning i got back my mobile again after a struggle.so i rate it is an more than average hotel in bangkok.please remember v are there in bangkok to enjoy the city till 1 pm night not enjoy in hotel;for that this hotel is more than enough comparing the rate also

We recently had a short vacation in Bangkok (with my husband, sister-in-law and her family). We were given two large rooms (suites) thru QVI and Club Ultima. The rooms are very clean and with a good view of the bangkok freeway. The staff are polite especially Oye who assisted us in booking a dinner cruise at Chao Phraya River. The food in the restaurant is also good and we enjoyed the fruits being sold by peddlers in front of the hotel. Very cheap fruits.

The rooms are reasonably priced and very affordable. The staff at the information desk are truly helpful. If given the chance, I would still like to stay in this hotel.

Room Tip: Choose a suite on higher floors facing the king rama 8 bridge, excellent view of the freeway especia...

I stayed in this Hotel during my official tour of Thailand for more than 10 days in scattered period. This Hotel was booked by Thai Govt. as a Host so we have no choice to search so much about Hotels. Though they were telling as four star property but it is somewhat more than three star. As we were in touring outside of Bangkok frequently therefore every time check in and check out and also stayed at different floors. Though service was fast and good and specially laundry service was superb and very cheap. You know the Thai food very less choice for vegetarians so we frequently visited Indira Market for food.

Else everything was ok and yes my last four days I got Royal Suit that was superb. Second thing staff is very honest.

Room Tip: Prefer top floor rooms particularly some 21st floor
