Stayed in room 803 for 4 nights. Room of average size and able to accommodate an extra bed with enough room to walk. Room faces a road with some construction activities which is quite far away. Room is quiet and clean. Breakfast is ok but may not be enough for people with greater appetite.

Hotel is 15 minutes 'walk to Platinum Mall and 20 minutes to Big C, about 10 minutes to the nearest LRT station.

Its not a luxury hotel. But the combination of location, price and the very nice staff makes it one of the better ones in Bangkok. The rooms are clean, the wifi is working (good speed). Have tried some other hotels in Bangkok, but if you are looking for a budget one this is the place to stay.

check in was brief, taxi driver having problem found the hotel, just say bangkok city hotel and you will be ok. samran just few meters before bangkok city hotel.Room interior pretty old, they still use old tube tv and key for the room. No kettle just complimentary mineral water. price compare to next door hotel slightly expensive. Breakfast buffet was good not fancy but adequate and tasted good.
for booking online you must pay the room online for confirmed booking.

Room Tip: pick the room facing the street or facing MRT dont pick room that facing bangkok city hotel or you w...

This is one of the best budget hotel that I had stayed with the most personalized service by its staff. While there is nothing to shout about of its room or amenities but the staff do care about its guests sincerely!

They make you feel at home with the little things and bother to ask you how's your days when back from business meetings or shopping. This makes it a huge different from those others that just asked for the sake of asking and those that really wants to make you feel at home. Thank you!

Room Tip: Try the 2 massage shops along the same street. Excellent service!

I usually stay next door at the Bangkok City Hotel. They were full so I tried the Samram Place Hotel. Basically the same price for a standard room. The hotel is dated but immaculate. The rooms have plenty of storage. Lots of hot water, and the air conditioning worked well. The only minor drawback for me was the lack of a hot water maker for coffee. I think the deluxe rooms have them.
The hotel food is far superior to the bangkok City Hotel. In the future, if I stay at the Bangkok City I will eat next door at the Samran Place.
Also the general atmosphere at the Samran is much more relaxed. Next door it seems as if people are checking in and out at all hours. Creating a log jamb in the lobby.

Well located, neat, clean, spacious rooms, hotel service with friendly staff and all for the price of a guesthouse and with breakfast included! After staying at Samran Place, I will not even consider nearby guesthouses that may be 50 - 150 Baht a night cheaper, as the saving is just not worth it. Samran Place's rooms are larger, more modern and overall provide much, much better value for money. Being an easy walk from the BTS, I'll be staying here next time I'm in Bangkok!

Room Tip: Try to get a room on an upper floor with a good view.

Considering you are staying in a major city this is a good value for money hotel. The skytrain station is only a short walk away which is convenient as we prefer to use this and the express boat rather than a taxi or tuk tuk. Rooms are clean and modern with everything in working order. Staff are friendly. Restaurant is acceptable for breakfast (which is included in the price) but for other meals we prefer to eat out. If you do eat here bear in mind the price on the menu does not include tax or service (it was always rather vague what the price was going to be - sometimes the final bill could be 20% more than the menu price). If booking this hotel ask for a room at the front or back - the rooms at the side have a view of building work but having said that we had to accept a room at the side on one of our visits and this would not stop us staying here. We have stayed here only for short visits (on arrival and before departure and when returning to Bangkok during our travels around Thailand). We have stayed here ten times over the past 12 years.

Room Tip: Back or front of hotel not the side.
