Owner description: The backpacking district of Khao San Road is the traveler hub of South East Asia. Jam-packed with raucous bars and restaurants as well as budget hostels, it’s a favorite for late-night revelers.

“Not worth to spend your time here”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 November 2013

If you are staying in the central district, don't even bother to go, the street is dying, nothing much left that make your visit worth. Most of the taxi drivers not willing to fetch you there or ask for 200 Baht per trip, please... A metered taxi journey from Siam BTS station only cost 71 Baht!

If you wanted to meet some fried bugs hawkers, this is the place but snapping photos of the exotic food costs you 10 Baht. Pay 60 Baht and you are given choices of 3 bugs (excludes scorpion and Madagascar cockroach) and free photo snap. Fried silk and bamboo worms taste like stale cracker and fried grasshopper taste like burned food. Cricket and giant water bug are available too. If you would like to try the bugs for first time, get a lemon or tangerine drink on hand first.

Drinking spots and fried bugs, only these that might make your visit worth! Nevertheless, the hawkers and paddlers were running away from authority during our visit, this even make the experience worse.

“This is not a must-do when in Bangkok”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 November 2013

Expensive clothes (bad quality) and annoying people who wants you to take a yuk-tuk/eat at their restaurants. Generally, the food on Khao San is not very good. Also, when you are in a restaurant, people are popping up all the time – people who sell lighters, grilled scorpions (hey, I'm eating and I'm a vegetarian, leave me alone and stop making me feel sick!) etc., etc. Busy place without Thai feeling. Worth visiting for like ten minutes, just because it's Khao San...

“Perfect for a beer or two.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 November 2013

Went to Khao San road for dinner & a few drinks with my girlfriend, it's lively to say to the least. Lots of bars & restaurants offering food (mainly English dishes), with plenty of offers on cocktails & beers. If you don't mind a touts selling tat & 90's pop music it's a good vibe. Would avoid if you're travelling with young children though, but a good spot for a few of beers & a laugh.

“No i do not want a suit!”

You get hassled to buy suits, watches, fake underpants and just about any tat you could think of. Everythings overpriced and the restaurants are crap total waste of time.
