“Was not impressed!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 April 2012

This hotel's only asset is it's location. It's right by the MBK, Siam Centers, Tesco Lotus and Jim Thompson's House. Other than this, I was not impressed. The room had a dirty feel to it as did the bathroom. I didn't get much sleep because I woke up several times because of bed bugs or ants, not sure which but was one of my worst nights ever. The A/C wasn't much help because it did little to cool the room. The staff was polite and kind but spoke little English. They did make pretty good coffe and very good coconut milk shake, though. :)
All in all, I was just really happy to check-out.

We stayed in Krit Thai because it of its location. It was just walking distance from MBK and Tesco Lotus. The Jim Thompson's House is also walking distance from where it was. It was just down the street, actually.

Reservation was easy however they had no maps. They don't have instructions on how to get there in Thai language. We had a hard time getting a cab from Hua Lamphong railway station to Krit Thai. We ended up paying 100BHT to a tuktuk but it only took us 15 minutes of navigation. Cab driver asked for the same amount back to Hua Lamphong station at 5 am so we could catch the train to Aranyaphratet.

Rates are different if you are not gonna take your breakfast in their hotel.

We were surprised that our bathroom had a tub. BTS was just across our room. It was convenient but you could hear the train from the bathroom. The bedroom is quiet though.

The A/C cannot be controlled. It's either you turn it on or not. No English channels on the TV but it was fine because we were out the whole day.

We just love the convenience.

The Hotel was close to all the major malls ans we could avoid the busy roads by using the BTS which is just out side the hotel. We went for shopping so the hotel was perfect for our budget and was easy for us to drop off our shopping and to return to the malls.

the infrastructures are quite old, but it's still a nice place to stay.
service at the reception was great - very helpful.
had breakfast there a few times and food also was ok.
nicely located - just next to MBK and all other major shopping centres and next to a convenience store that stays open until late at night (maybe it was 24/7, can't remember).

initially stayed at lub-d (a few metres away) but moved there as lub-d was not the ideal place for my parents. ;)

We were able to check in in this hotel at the ungodly hour of 2AM and without reservation! Either we were lucky that night or the hotel was not fully booked, i cant tell which but we were grateful. the hotel staff is friendly, only the manager knows how to speak a bit of english. nevertheless after some hurdle in the language barrier we were able to understand each other. the room is clean & the rest room is okay. thankfully there is a hot shower. And if you flush down the toilet hold the knob down until it is fully flushed or else…only caveat about this hotel is their elevator. It shook twice! one before you reach your floor and twice when it stops..the elevator shook violently that have left you lightheaded for hours. after 2 rides you get used to its shaking. on the positive side, its close to the BTS national stadium station just a few steps away from the exit so after a day strolling around Bangkok you wont walk a long way going back to Krit Thai Mansion and Jim Thompson House is just around the corner. Nevertheless, Krit Thai Mansion is place where you want to be if you are backpacking and you want near the shopping district.
