“Hidden gem, forgot we were in Bangkok!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 May 2014 via mobile

Had a 2 night stay here, booked via Agoda. Chose this place based on reviews and they were pretty spot on!

Pros:
lovely staff
clean/spacious rooms
in room amenities
helpful staff
good location, slight 10/15 walk to khosan road
Free American breakfast (yum!)
lovely chill out area
24hr security guard (very secure after getting in too)

Cons: (this is a hard one...)
no long mirror in room!?
Taxi drivers couldn't find easily (take a map)

As we had to check out at 3:30am, I asked reception if they were able to pack a small snack as we were going to miss the full breakfast, which they gladly did :-) juice/sandwich/banana/water

Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to others to stay

I made the booking in this particular hotel for two reasons, price and rank. However, the front of the hotel was under construction so I assumed why the rate was discounted. It did not look good at first, I was not looking for noises in the morning of the construction going on downstairs. But my concerns were short-lived. The reception staff offered me an upgrade to a canal view room free of charge because of the possible inconvenience, even though I did not say a word.
One great disadvantage is lack of the desk in the room, which I needed to work on my University projects. There is a lot of space available in the room and some sort of chair and working station could be provided. My girlfriend does not use any make up so lack of the desk was not an issue for her but if you do need such desk, you will not find it here. The room was great, good size, romantic view, unusual design and quality of the facilities. The coffee and tea facilities were not limited to 2 bags as it normally happens which is great as I love Lipton tea when travelling through Asia. The minibar could offer better choice of drinks and some snacks. But 7/11 was around the corner, well 7/11 is at every corner in Bangkok . The bathroom was almost the size of the room itself with rain shower and a proper looking bathtub, which we never used. Good water pressure at any time and hot water, which is a common problem in many hotels in South East Asia, especially in the morning, but not here. The bed consisted only of the mattress. I will leave that to the designer, if he or she believes it is a good solution, than maybe it is. But if you like to sleep high, you will not like it. However, the quality of mattress was impeccable, so was the quality of sleep.
The restaurant is opened only for breakfast. I could not find any western restaurant in the close vicinity of the hotel but I was not really looking for one. The breakfast was very good but not amazing. You can eat the breakfast just by the canal, very romantic.
The staff at the reception was very helpful and caring. I lost my mouse in Cambodia and they borrowed me their own, so I could finish of my work. I could print out some things free of charge in the mini business centre.
I really liked the design, a bit like a new house, when you just moved and not everything is yet ready, like you would just got married and everything is still ahead of you. Not painted walls, unattached bathtub, everything very plain. But no inconvenience, except for the desk.
I will not stay here again only because I always like to try some new place. However, I can definitely recommend the hotel as a great place to relax and unwind. Five stars. But please, get those desks in rooms!

i stayed at this new hotel in february and it was delightful. the rooms were of a high standard and the staff were so helpful and friendly. the place is clean and quiet and situated in a really interesting area of bkk - the old city. not particularly accessible if u stick to the BTS but taxi, bus and klong go right past the door - so maybe more for people who appreciate local life and local communities rather than the bright lights of the malls. ps i lost a gold earning one day and had no idea when it happened, so was delighted when i returned to the hotel to find that one of the staff had found it and handed it in to reception!

The villa is very well located between the old center (20 min walk to old palace) and the Khao San Road (5-10 min walk). However the room we had (to the atrium) was very quiet. The staff is really friendly and obliging.
Infos: For max. 100 Baht you get around to every point in the old center by TukTuk, Taxi is hard to get. The nearest skytrain station is quiet far though. By taxi (70 Baht with Taximeter) you reach the hotel from the nearest station "Phaya Thai", which is a direct connection to the airport. The taxt to the northern buss station its approx. 120 Baht. Be aware of a lot of taxi driver who try to screw you (don't go without taximeter). Also there are a lot of "friendly" people in the center, who try to tell you that some attraction is closed or you wear wrong pants, ....
Room / Hotel: The room was nice and very clean, though the fairfaced concrete has some chances of improvement. The hotel has a very peacefull and relaxing atmosphere. The price is OK for the really good quality you get.
Staff: The staff is very friendly and helped us wherever they could.

I can't say enough about this place.

The hotel is clean and modern. Right on the canal and within walking distance to sights.

The staff were awesome - I needed to go to the doctor and they drove me and waited all for free. The included breakfast is also great (go for the Asian breakfast instead of American).

I would definitely stay here again.
