“Great Value !!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 June 2014

iCheck Inn Residences Sathorn offer one of the best choice among hundreds of Bangkok accommodations.

The room and its bathroom are superb- clean, spacious, comfortable, and modern.
The location is about 100 metres off Sathorn street, although quite far from BTS station, but easy access by taxi. Parking is free, but quite limited.
Starbucks and good international restaurants are within walking distance.
The lobby is quite small (located on 2nd Floor). The staff is OK, but way to improve.
The price, aww!! .. it could compensate every shortage.

In shorts, with the rates they offer, it's hard to find a better room in Bangkok. Trust me ;)

Having spent over eight years continuously on the road in rented accommodation, ranging from hotels to apartments to hostels and much in between, we think we have a good idea of what to look for in reserving a bed for the night.

Unless otherwise stated, assume the reviewed accommodation to have the following facilities: in-room internet connection for personal laptop, air conditioning, TV with English speaking channels, fridge and a safe.

Situated in Sathorn, we stayed 14 nights at the iCheck Inn on the 7th floor which had a pleasant view of the nearby temple. The “room” is more like a small apartment, split into kitchen/diner, bathroom and bedroom, all well proportioned and decked out with good facilities.

The kitchen consisted of a very large fridge and separate freezer compartment, dining table with two chairs, top of the range washing machine, microwave, extractor fan, worktop and storage cupboards and separate air conditioning unit.

The bathroom had a sink with both hot and cold running water, a dedicated stand up shower unit (with a “cascade” shower head and excellent flow rate) and separate, almost full size, bath. It also featured a large window that enabled you to view into the bedroom or TV but if you preferred privacy, there were roller blinds either side of the window.

The bedroom can be set up as a twin or double bed, had loads of storage closets, a writing desk/work unit, large flat screen TV and DVD player plus an array of lights that were all remote controlled. There was also another air conditioning unit and plenty of mirrors available. The wardrobe had an over-sized safe inside.

Wooden flooring throughout gave the rooms a clean and fresh look, which complimented the fixtures and furnishings- all in all very modern and high tech.

Faultless wi-fi was available in all areas.

A delightful stay and one we shall repeat, but there were a couple of quibbles.

A poor selection of TV channels being the biggest disappointment. A couple of local options, a couple of news programmes and nothing else aside from ghosting and speckled images.

Not one film, sports or music channel, which considering how modern the hotel is, was very disappointing. They do provide a DVD player and have a small selection of DVDs for free hire but this is a poor second choice. We have been assured that this area will be addressed (they do have an over-sized flat screen TV in the chill out lounge which has cable TV- along with a free pool table), so hopefully this will be sorted out for our next visit.

Breakfast is now also on the menu but this was untested, there is a very impressive outdoor swimming pool which is covered and keeps the fierce sun off you while splashing around and it has a brand, new well equipped fitness room. The hotel also runs a shuttle tuk-tuk to the nearest BTS station at times during the day.

If you miss the shuttle, there is also a local bus (BRT) that runs every five minutes or so and costs just THB 5 linking you to the BTS at Sathorn/Chong Nonsi, which is three stops away from Central/Siam.

The only other irritation is the quiet time policy which requests that guests keep noise down from 21:00 to 09:00. That is a marvellous idea but is let down by the hotel which plays piped music (which is truly awful and intrusive at the best of times and can be heard in your room) from 06:00 to gone 22:00. Illogical and needs to be rethought.

Other than that, the staff are first class; very friendly, attentive and professional and credit must go to Khun Bic who used to be the front desk manager at the Imm Fusion for several years.

The surrounding area has multiple shops, good choices for both dining and having a few beers, there is a local night market which gets busy and there is a Central shopping mall within walking distance. A bit further way you also have a large Tesco-Lotus for all your grocery shopping needs.

We’re already looking forward to coming back.

As ever, please feel free to contact us via a personal message or check out our Blog for more details and pictures. Just Google “ktelontour” or see our profile.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the family floor- it will be quieter.

Stayed here for 6 nights a family of four. Location is a bit away from the Metro Station nearest one is Chongnonsi, they provide a Tuk Tuk free service to Metro Stations around the area from 9am until 5pm.

The Apartment 2 Bedrooms are new and the Living Room large enough, with a Balcony. Their is a Kitchen area with washing machine, microwave, fridge, Iron stand etc. The second room is windowless and compact size. The Master bedroom has a wardrobe, attached toilet and shower cubicle, also a balcony.

The staff is very helpful, the breakfast is simple, the room rate is affordable, theres free tea coffee hot chocolate in the reception area.

Nice place to stay if for long term - weekly, monthly...

Room Tip: We chose a corner suite on higher floor

We really enjoyed our stay here. New hotel with lovely friendly staff and interesting side of town away from tourist traps. We had just been on a long journey from Ko Tao and were so tired, getting to here was great. Good beds, amazing bathroom, aircon great. Breakfast was good but not included. Had a safe, good view of Wat Phoman, internet worked very good. Staff were very helpfull throughout the stay. Kitchen good but could include cooker instead of just microwave. Location is not near the main sites so it's geared more towards longer stays perhaps but getting a taxi in BK is pretty easy!

We stayed here right after our arrival in Thailand, jet lagged and groggy. This is a perfect spot to turn around your time zones. The area is quiet--unlike the loud and crazy tourist centers downtown. We got great night' sleep, beds are quite comfortable. Rooms are spacious, bright, and everything worked. We even had a refrigerator to store drinks and a kitchenette (which we didn't use for cooking). There are several restaurants, a mini market and even a Starbucks within walking distance, since there is no restaurant at the hotel. It is 1-2 blocks from bus and public transportation. The garden on the roof is a pleasant plus for a common area. The only down side is the pool, which is shaded constantly and was quite cold. We left after dipping feet in and realizing a swim was out of the question.

I can echo what other reviewers have said about the excellent service (good English spoken) clean spacious rooms, comfy bed, refreshing pool even if it is a bit shallow, we had it to ourselves each time we used it. excellent street food just around the corner, Short walk to the bus service to the sky train. Bus lane ensures that it is quicker than a taxi/tuk-tuk and the bus is airconed and frequent.

Room Tip: all good as each other
