When we entered the hotel, everything seemed perfect. The staff were really friendly and the room was really nice. They had everything ready in the room from the ironing board to cutlery. The hotel had a shuttle service and they took me to the hairdresser before my friend's wedding. The spa was nice with friendly staff. Yet, we eventually figured out the room was not so clean - with bugs on the 15th floor, we were a bit disappointed. I would like to think it was our unlucky day.
normally stay on Sofitel. Friend reccomended this place. Its a hotel but the rooms are like flats. Great value and very very helpfull staff. Spas not to bad either
I stayed here four four nights at the end of August, visiting friends who live just down the road. From arrival to departure, the experience was excellent. It is the staff who really make the place. They are VERY friendly and professional, including the always-smiling doorm, the reception staff and the restaurant staff.
The rooms are modern, well designed and very, very large compared to most hotel rooms. Complimentary wifi is a good inclusion (I wish all hotels offered this). The pool and gym areas are also good. The pool is not as large as big resort-style hotels, but more than sufficient for cooling off after a day in the Bangkok rainy season or doing a few laps. Breakfast is very good, with everything you'd expect from a 5-star hotel. Oh yes, they know how to make espresso coffee too. There is a laundrette, which experienced travellers always appreciate.
I really liked the small size of the Siri Sathorn suites. With just 100 or so rooms the staff genuinely get to recognize you and make you feel at home. Many of the guests are long-stay business people, which is a good sign of the quality and value. The hotel also seemed quite full, unusual in the middle of a tourism crisis in Thailand.
The local area is really good. It's very central and one of the most expensive residential districts in the city. There are three or four good restaurants within 200 metres and a cheap and cheerful noodle bar right next door. The street is quiet (for Bangkok) except for the building work going on next door, already noted in several reviews. As long as you request a room away from the building work, there is no problem.
The night markets are a 10 minute walk away, as it the BTS. THE MRT is 5 minutes. If you are feeling lazy there is a complimentary shuttle to take you to these places and beyond.
I spend about three months of the year travelling for work, and this has been one of my favourite stays recently. In fact, I have booked to stay there again next weekend!
