“The Second-Nicest Park in Greater Bangkok”
Review of King Rama IX Park

Rama-9 park is a large quiet space with a distinctly local flavor in the northeast of Greater Bangkok. It has themed gardens surrounding a central lake of some size, and while doubtless English tourists wil pan its English Gardens, they are quite impressive for most of us. The Orchid Gardens are my favorite, and while the place is in bloom at any time of year, I enjoy it most on Sunday mornings between November 1 and March 1. This is a place where suburban Bangkokians come for family picnics, jogging and dates in the paddle boats and samphans of an evening. It is a kick to take your lady and pole a samphan across the lake with her. The park has suffricient size to find a place to call you own even on Sundays, and its splendor is not to be missed. It is a taxi ride frm anywhere, but well worth the visit for garden lovers, lover-lovers, and families with a picnic. Enjoy!

Early morning and evening it is free to the public but at other times you pay.

Free in evenings between 5-7 pm.

At 6pm they play the national anthem from speakers disguised at lamp posts. You are supposed to stand still but we saw joggers who kept running but strollers all stood.

Ponds, a lake with sunshaded small paddle boats for hire. We think these would be really hot with sunshine reflecting off the surface but you certainly would find the experience calming with not too much effort.

Beautiful flowers and an exhibition hall in the middle but we did not enter (charge for entry but no details).

Wonderful scents on the flowers in the cool of the day and we recognised vanilla scent, wonderful, but you had to get up close to identify the scent.

Lots of parks police but then you feel safer. Saw no litter and only one ice cream stall under a tree near the north western end of the lake.

About 5 minutes from Pravet suburb (south east of centre) shopping centre known as Paradise Park on Srinakarin Road. Not accessible by train or BTS.

Piped music at times. Toilets by lake on North West side for a small charge.

We did not see anyone walking upon the grass but this is a good place to walk a toddler Mums!

Take your photos against a backdrop of flowers and pedestrian walks.

We saw the english garden but no roses.

Great for Mum and buggies and the pensioners.

RAMA IX is the present king. God bless him and his people.

Enjoy.

Chris, Anna and family + friend.

A beautiful park that is at its best from November to February but rather hot during the dry season. There's so much to see and it provides an ideal picnic spot or place to ramble around.

Rama IX Park is a beautiful park in the eastern suburbs of Bangkok. Plenty of nature to explore, flowers, gardens, feed the fish, ride a bike, pedal or paddle a boat, eat, relax with family or friend or lover. Great for an afternoon or anytime escape from Bangkok.

Nice park, but a little far away for tourists. There is nothing around here that would be of interest to you.
