“Great”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 April 2014

Reasonable price for such a great location. Right in the middle of Khao San Rd, surrounded by places to shop and eat. Most attractions are just a quick tuk tuk or taxi ride away. Room was clean. We chose a room with no window so we didn't hear any noise from the street. Pool is nice. Internet was fast. Free breakfast was pretty good too. I'd definitely stay here again and would recommend to other travellers.

Room Tip: Rooms without a window are quiet and the A/C works well.

This hotel was average, but with a great location. Rooms, cleanliness, and service were average. Rooftop pool was good. Room smelled a bit like sewage but ac worked good. The men the worked in the stores into the entrance were gross and made lewd comments every time we walked by. Close to Starbucks, McDonald's and many other food options. Go to the floating market, it's a just see !

Stayed here for 3 nights while I was in Bangkok since I got it recommended from some of my friends. I think it's an ok hotel with value for your money. It's located right in the middle of Khaosan Road, which has its pros and cons ofcourse. I liked it very much since I love party and great shopping (and you get a lot of both on KS Rd) but if you don't like noisy places you should probably not stay here. Some of the rooms are VERY noisy and you can not sleep at all even if you have earplugs in. The clubs on the street play loud music until 4-5 am.. And the beds are not very comfortable either.

The price includes breakfast, which I never got the chance to try since I slept in every morning after some hard party nights haha. But I suppose it's a regular continental breakfast. They also have a rooftop swimmingpool and it's awesome!! Nice to relax in the sun and go for a swim after a long day of shopping.. Really good atmosphere up there.

So overall, it's a nice place and if you wanna stay in the heart of Khaosan Rd, with breakfast and swimmingpool, and don't have to high expectations - then I'll recommend it! For backpackers it's really good.

The D&D Inn definitely has small rooms but you pay for what you get, we had a small balcony with our room which was towards the back of the hotel. I imagine if you are at the front of the hotel you hear the noise from the road a little more but that's to be expected with pretty much anywhere you stay on Khao San road. We actually asked to see the room BEFORE we paid and agreed it.
Great value and we actually enjoyed this more than the posh Bayioke Hotel we stayed in.
i think we paid around £24 for two nights stay, cheap as chips.
Definitely avoid the breakfast - warmed up spag bol was on offer for us with some random manky sausages... stick to the street food and remember you have to be open minded- it is Thailand after all... enjoy! :o)

Room Tip: get a room at the back of the hotel and ask to see the room before you pay up front, they don't...

This hotel is probably the best hotel/hostel up Khao San, and i've stayed in a fair few. The rooms have always been clean although they aren't very big, nor is the bed but it will suffice as a hostel where you can recharge before moving on. I assume if your reading this, you are probably a backpacker and honestly this hotel is the clear winner in this area of BKK. Costs around 50-60 baht to get over to the center of BKK which is about a pound. One little tip in BKK - always ask a taxi to use the meter. It will always work out cheaper. That or use tuk tuk, but if you haven't grasped what BKK is like yet, i wouldn't use them until you know the rough price guide or your at risk of being mugged off.

All in all, its a good hostel and one i will without a doubt be using again. There is always a lot of backpackers that use this hostel as a stopover in BKK so don't be surprised at how busy and noisy it could be but it is a pleasant place, food is average in the morning but you get what you pay for, and i don't like paying for a lot. :)

Stayed here twice on the same trip, once when we had first arrived (we had originally booked ourself into another dismal hotel but quickly checked out and walked straight into D&D) and the second time coming back from an awfully long journey from Cambodia with two two of us vomiting. W walked straight in again, booked a room with late checkout and didn't go outside for 24 hours.

Both times the rooms were perfect, very calm and a Nice change from hostels when you need to rest which we definitely did both times. Also great location right on Khaosan Road.

We stayed in a standard room and a deluxe the second time when we needed a bit more comfort. Both very reasonable by UK prices, obviously more expensive than a hostel but that's a given.

I and a friend visit to Bangkok in first March.
We stay at the D & D inn 8-11 March.
We've separate airline/flight, so we arrived in hotel isn't the same time. My two friends and I arrived last, the room key has been taken by my another friends (with another fligth too). after take our suitcases in the room, we intend to find food and register 1 extra bad in the family room (we were 7pax: 2male and 5female) when we were in the front office, we got a very not wear, we intend to order 1 extra bad but we were accused of deceiving "Indonesian cheater". and they serve very slowly and chatting. when my friend asked them to more quickly take care of our extra bed payment, they turned angry to my us. indeed unsatisfactory services.
500bath/night we have to pay for an extra baf for additional towels, pillows, swimming vouchers, and breakfast. without the addition of a mattress, mineral water, ext.
The hotel is very unfriendly and disappointing.
Very not recommended.
