Excellent service and location, as it is close to excellent night markets and street food. Initial room was not what was booked, however this was rectified the next day as soon as possible. Bathroom not as good as it could be, although for a standard room it was okay. Service in restaurant and reception was excellent and polite, however the tour operator and the porters are still out to get their moneys worth and it is very important that you dont believe everything they offer you in terms of price and what is open and closed on certain days. The rooftop pool and spa were charming and again the service was outstanding. The Spa massage was very good (painful) but very good. We would definitely return.

I stayed here Nov 25- Dec 2nd 2012.

Spacious room, with powerful AC :) Nice bathroom. Rooftop pool, breakfast, fast enough internet so I was able to connect to my server in CA and do web conference with clients in TX.
Charming hotel.

Room is very large. For two messy people we still managed to find place for ourselves!

We stayed here for two nights. Room was a good size with a huge double bed. Standard small bath with shower over. Nice pool on 8th floor. Breakfast buffet was good. Computers to use for free in reception very handy. Dinner in the restaurant was fine - nothing exceptional but standard food. Mini bar prices were very reasonable (which is always a nice surprise).

Service was friendly enough and honestly, it was all you expect in a hotel - clean, well maintained. A free drink voucher at the bar was a nice touch (OJ, not alcoholic though!). We didn't use the spa but from the outside, it looked good.

The location wasn't a problem for us and the market at Pat Pong has some great bargains. Can't comment on the bars as we didn't go in! I imagine for some the offers on the street might have been a bit much, but it wasn't offensive or pushy - just that there were so many bars offering ping pong shows!

Wasn't too far to walk down to the river and maybe we should have explored the area a bit more.

Although all the boxes were ticked, somehow it wasn't as great as it should have been given all the separate parts. Not sure why as we had no complaints at all. It was a good room for us, but didn't stand out compared to others on the trip.

I stayed here at the last minute for a trade expo in Bangkok and its a lovely charming hotel. It is old and is well past its glory years but that made it more charming to me.

First: the taxi driver wasnt sure of the address, so I would ask for a large map and directions in Thai before you leave home.
Second: its a small quaint place obvuiously not trying to compete with all the flash places BKK has to offer, and why bother, this is a little charmer and it works for them. So beware! some may find it stuffy and dingey. The tv's were old school 'fat backs' so If modern flash hotels are your thing, stay else where. But the beds were comfortable, rooms clean, A/C cold, showers strong and hot.

Service was impeccable, everyone was more than happy to do whatever I asked - which is a nice change! Getting a taxi was no bother, in fact the door man took his job very serioulsy and getting us in and out safely and to the right place was his prime concern! breakfast had everything we needed so no complaints at all there. The rooftop bar and 'pool' was a tiny area but we just sat with our feet in the pool sipping cocktails as we were so tired.

THEN.. next door are the Patpong night markets, apparantly the only night markets left as Lumpini has closed, the MBK shopping mecca is a 3 min drive away by tuk-tuk, La Luba Dome restuarant is a 5 min drive away, Silom rd is 2 mins away and there is as always a huge amount of good non-sexual massage places near-by.

I really liked this place for a change of pace, it felt more at home than the sprawling mega-hotels where you are just a number. And it was close to everything BKK can offer.

Room Tip: Its so cheap go bigger!

We've stayed at this hotel many times on our visits to Bangkok and have never been disappointed. It's not 5 star but the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Rooms have always been spotless and everything electrical has worked properly. WiFi and internet access was a problem a year or so ago but not anymore - it is now excellent. The hotel is now being refurbished at ground level and the plans look good. Can't wait to see it next April when we are due to return to Bangkok. The food is very tasty and there's plenty of it. Breakfast could be improved though, with more fruit juices being available. The only downside is that the bed pillows are too hard! Also, it's a city centre hotel so don't expect a fabulous view. The hotel is in a location where it's surrounded by other buildings but, nevertheless, it's quiet.

Limousine service to and from airport (or anywhere) is excellent but one of their cars has a smallish boot (trunk) so if you're travelling with more than 2 medium sized cases let the hotel know in advance (you can email).

The hotel is very handy for shopping, they can arrange trips for you and will look after you very well. We wouldn't stay anywhere else!

This hotel is great value and is located 100 metres from Pat Pong, the night spot of Bangkok with the night market, girlie bars, strip joints, bars, pubs, massage parlours, restaurants and fun. Can seem seedy so if you have a problem with the sex trade, probably not a good idea. You can however soak up the atmosphere without getting involved.
The hotel is clean, friendly, great breakfast.

Room Tip: All rooms are heritage decorated and ours was very quiet

This was my 1st trip to Bangkok and this property was so disappointing! The room felt dirty, and housekeeping failed to come one of my 3 days there. To top it off, the toilet backed up and despite repeated request to fix it, help never came (thankfully, I was checking out that afternoon). Finally, the guy they let sit at their desk to promote tours turned out to be a tout -- he tried to leave me at a jewelry mart for the afternoon. Just plain crap.
