“Very good apartments, well located, reasonably priced, recommended”
Reviewed 15 June 2012

Recently had a week in Bangkok and booked in to the Pantip Suites. Was welcomed warmly on arrival and throughout and on request given one of the rooms up on the 18th floor with fantastic views of Bangkok. Every area of the apartment was huge making it good value for money. It was functionally decorated and furnished and very well maintained. Location wise it's a very short tuk tuk ride or about 10 mins walk for the nearest metro at Lumpini, so well served to get around. Has a great L-shaped pool which is great for those who want to do laps or just splash around. A well equipped gym, a shop (to get food to cook in your own kitchen in the apartment), a business centre and massage centre. We took breakfast each morning......be advised, breakfast finishes at 10am..... and there's one particular staff member we nicknamed the 'breakfast Nazi' who shows open annoyance to anyone entering the restaurant after 9.45am, but then to see this just became comical if you were there. Ate in the restaurant one night, and although there was a lack of atmosphere, the food was good and wasn't overpriced, so we enjoyed a lovely steak dinner.
The rooms are well serviced and cleaned to a high standard, the bed linen on the HUGE bed did have a hole or two, but was very clean and is offered to be changed daily at your request. Also the living area and the bedroom have independent air conditioning. A good touch.
The place could do with free wi-fi throughout as currently this is only available in reception and certain parts of the building. With this it would have received the excellent rating, but it's right up there on the border.
For me, much more than just a hotel room, and if you're there for a few nights or more you can actually relax in the living areas too.

Room Tip: On booking, if you want a view request a high-floor room, they are very accommodating if they can be

I booked a day early before starting a tour with Overseas Adventure Tour since this was where the tour started and ended. It was handy never having been in Bangkok previously. The rooms were huge-way more than I needed for one person. I was up quite high and never had a problem waiting for an elevator. Breakfast was great. The staff spoke English quite well and answered every question I had. They kept the extra suitcase I left for three weeks at no charge. It would have been great if the rooms had wifi, but it was free in the lobby. I made the booking over the Internet and everything was as promised. The staff couldn't have been more friendly. I will stay there again when going through Bangkok next January/February.

After a 16 hr flight we were pleasantly surprised to find this spacious hotel and fantastic air conditioning as it was so hot in Bangkok. Centrally located. Loved the 2 bedroom suite with living and dining rooms. What a treat! Stayed here twice before and after a trip to Vietnam.

I'm not sure what we loved most - the incredibly friendly, helpful, professional staff (most of whom spoke English quite well) - the HUGE, well-appointed rooms - the restaurant (breakfast buffet was heavenly) - the view from the balconies - getting to know other fun guests - or the comfortable pool (except that it closed too early at 7:30pm).

The staff always went out of their way to help us - arranging tours, scheduling large taxis for our family of 5, airport transfer, local restaurant recommendations, etc. They even held our luggage all day at no cost when our flight didn't leave until midnight. That allowed us to spend the whole day exploring & not having to worry about dragging our luggage around. We cannot say enough good about the staff!

We stayed in an updated suite for a few days and loved Pantip so much that we came back another night after staying in another city for a few days. On our 2nd stay our suite was a bit outdated, but still very nice. We LOVED Pantip.

It is not located on a major street, as many others mentioned, however it was a short walk to the subway which got us most places we wanted to go. When needed, the hotel called a cab for us. We never waited for more than a few minutes.

It was very quiet and peaceful. For both of our stays we were in a corner unit. I don't know if that is where the 2 bed/3 bath suites are or if they were keeping our loud, young children from bothering others. We appreciated being in the corner. We didn't worry too much about bothering someone, which is really rare w/ 3 young kids.

We also loved the very large tubs. The kids "swam" in them when we missed the pool one night. Bubble baths were awesome!

Room Tip: Pay the few extra dollars for the "executive suite" on an upper floor. The view was amazi...

We stayed for 4 night in one of the huge 2 bedroom apartment. Every bedroom has its own on suite bathroom. The bed was a king size bed and the comfort was ok but could expect better. The size of the apartment was amazing and we even had our own balcony.
Conveniently situated in sathorn soy 1 just 10-15 minutes walking distance to the nearest metro station.
The staff is very nice and helpfull.
The swimming pool area is ok.

The negative points are :
The property need some refreshments, especially in the bed room and kitchen (not really equipped, no washing machine and no laundry machine), the breakfast was very poor and the coffee not good. The massage and fitness is completely from another age !!!!

What a wonderful way to stay in bangkok. The room was large with plenty of space to escape each other, which after 3 weeks travel as a group is sometimes needed. Staff were extremely helpful and fun to chat with especially the concierage. Breakfast was a little boring but there was variety just changed so little from day to day.
We had massages at the hotel massage parlor and this was excellent.
Also they have a badly advertised but really yummy pasta bar restrauant around the front of the hotel which you should check out.
Would defintely stay here again.
