“Not just a hotel room, it's really a full size apartment”
Reviewed 5 June 2013

I booked a package SE Asia tour and ended up checking into the Pantip three separate times last month. The rooms are actually a full size 1 bedroom apartment, i.e. separate bedroom, bathroom, large front room off dining area/full kitchen. The first two times i had an interior room and thought that they were specious. The third time I had an end room and it was even larger; i.e. bigger living room, additional hallway/entrance with closet and half bath. It also had a wrap around balcony The higher the floor the better the view. There are only 6 units per floor and the room numbers ending in 01 and 06 are the end units. The unit's internet (ethernet line) worked fast, the air conditioning was great, there were numerous cable TV channels, the elevators were fast, and the complimentary breakfast was outstanding. They have a nice pool, gym, and spa. The first visit the 1 hour massage was on sale for 230 Bahts, the regular price was only 300 Bahts. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The only negative is the location. It is not close to anyplace most tourists want to go to or see. There are a couple local restaurants and a real nice 7-Eleven just around the corner (go right exiting the place)..The closet subway station is a good 10 minute walk (go right exiting the place and right again at the main avenue)..You don't cross the main avenue to get to the subway station; however, you do if you want to go the the nearest park and (let's just say) crossing that street can be a real challenge...

Room Tip: The higher the floor the better and try for a unit with number in 01 or 06.

A good choice and good price. Staff is so friendly and despite it's not close to the sky train (best wayto avoid traffic jam) but close to it 711, exchange office and Italian restaurant
Also excellent view from balcony in the night
I for sure come back again

We came back to stay there once again on last Saturday 25, 2013. Same good services and staffs and they also recognized us as well, A great breakfast as they remain serve like the past year, but they may downsize their staffs in the restaurant, may be their liquidation, I don't know!
But here safe and sound even, it located a bit far from the main street, but do not worry it is the embassy district.convenience with subway at the corner of the street. Also the day you want to get out there is a free ride fro you to the main street, on requested! We remain to come back here again and again, whenever we have business around this district.

Room Tip: All rooms are in the same type and decoration, except you choose a suite room.

My fourth stay and despite swearing to experience other Bangkok hotels we invariably 'home' in to Pantip!
Yes, architecture is dated- and maybe thats why its so spacious -reminiscent of older homes - big bedrooms with ensuites, large living/dining areas to lounge around in, full kitchen with expansive views.Well furnished. We always stayed in the 2-bed apartments - they also have a guest bathroom, a luggage room, a big foyer. This time we got a refurbished apartment.
Their price is VERY reasonable.
Only discontent is with housekeeping - it needs to buckle up - with efficient cleaning, topping up of tea/coffee sachets, etc. On one of our earlier visits the dated electric kettle had an old tea bag in it sprouting fungus, this department sure needs re-training.
But i still love Pantip

Room Tip: Early bird rates may get you an unrefurbished apartment with old interiors, furnishing, and a genera...

This is our 3rd visit to this hotel which says a lot for Bangkok. You get a lot for the money but its not 5 or even 4 star. The rooms are more like large condos with magnificent views over the centre of Bangkok from most rooms. Ask for a high room for the views. All suites have a seperate lounge , bedroom and bathroom and the bed is huge , easily sleeps 3 so don't order a spare bed if you're travelling with a child. Swimming pool is very nice in the nice gardens and the area is pretty quiet.
Breakfast is the standard Thai affair of eggs, frankfurters and rice so dont expect much here, adequate but not great. There is wired internet only in the rooms so you can only use your ipad in the lobby. The lounge area is massive and has sofas and chairs with the doors opening onto Bangkok. This is a very good fall back when you cant pay 5 star prices but need to spread out.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor and if travelling with a kid dont pay more for a spare bed as there is ample sp...

Good location, large rooms and friendly service. However the bathrooms' showers in the 4 units we stayed need badly a good cleaning, In fact the mold could be easily taken care by putting some caulking ( inexpensive solution). The carpets in some units were "old" and worn. Loved the pool and tropical gardens-- takes one away from the city. We travelled with OAT's and stayed 4 times during our recent trip to South East Asia.

Room Tip: The rooms alongside the elevator shafts are noisey, as the sounds penetrate the walls. The end unit...

The service is this hotel was superb. The rooms are extremely large and the views of the city are expansive. The pool is a good temperature for swimming and a massage at the spa was wonderful after a long day of touring.

Room Tip: Anything above the 4th floor
