I am not aware of anyplace else in Bangkok with so many fine beers on tap. I went with a Belgian friend who is a real beer expert and he was impressed. That says a lot. We tried the No. 6 and a few others. Some of these beers are 9% alcohol! 200 baht for a small glass is a bit pricey, but the prices are understandable, given the quality of the beverages. The place is really not so difficult to find. Take the BTS to the Ekamai Station, walk to Ekamai Soi 10, just past the Big C. Take a right, another right and then a left. It's tucked in a residential street so don't get confused or think that you're lost. The decor and garden are lovely. It's all very modern and clean. You have to order at the bar so don't sit down and expect someone to wait on you. Not gonna happen. Pulled pork sandwich was nice and the food presentation was first rate. I was pleasantly surprised to see so many Thai customers who appreciate good beers. It's very apparent that the owners and staff really enjoy what they're doing.

Great place for beer lovers, nice tapas, a little hard to find or park if you are not famliar with the area. Sorry for non-beer lovers.

Mikkeller beer has an excellent reputation among craft beer lovers, but it is difficult to find in my home town. I was thrilled to have a chance to visit this bar. There were about 25 Mikkeller beers on tap, and a large number of bottle available. The bartender/co-owner was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Be aware that the price are very high (about 300 baht/$10 for a wine glass of beer). The interior is in a soothing, Danish-modern style. I would highly recommend a visit if you've always wanted to taste a few Mikkeller beers. If you're not a beer person, the high prices will likely turn you off!

Alissa,

Happy to hear you enjoyed yourself. I think you might have misunderstood our pricing as our average beer price for a small (wine glass as you call it) is 170-180THB, inclusive of tax and no service charge. Our large, served in a pint glass, averages 340-360THB, and I think this is what you might have been talking about.

Similar bars in our area have higher prices after adding tax (7%) and mandatory service (10%) to the advertised price. Also, it's easy to forget that our beers average 8% ABV and many are exclusive to us and very difficult to get. Perhaps bottles would be a better pricing benchmark to compare us to surrounding bars. In general, we price our bottles at or below the market rate, but because we include tax, we come out even cheaper. By the way, we offer a further 10% discount on takeaway.

You can check out our online Tasting Room store to see pricing for our bottle shop (http://www.tastingroombkk.com). Keep in mind, these prices include tax and in most cases free shipping too.

Cheers!

Nice setting in a quiet residential neighborhood.
Large beer selection.
Had the Sukhumvit Pilsener. For my taste much too bitter.
Limited food selection. Value for money ok but took a long time for preparation.
There was no table service.
Food and drinks must picked up at the bar and paid on the spot.
Music indoors was too loud, hence we relocated outdoors,
Overall an average experience.
Expected more after reading the reviews.

Thank you for your feedback. We try to make our focus and style very clear on our Facebook and TripAdvisor pages. As a frequent reviewer on TripAdvisor, perhaps you read our intro, which is there to ensure expectations are not misaligned.

We strive to differentiate ourselves from the hundreds of beer bars in Thailand that have outdated menus, staff unfamiliar with their products, and offer a full food menu to attract a wider audience. We purposely have a small, focused menu with featured pop-ups throughout the week that match our style and pair with our amazing beers. The food we do have is amazing and I encourage you to try it next time.

As for service, we believe it is inappropriate to provide table service for a craft beer centric venue. It is very difficult for a customer to select one of our 30 taps or a bottle from our ever-changing bottle list at the table. We prefer to get to know our customers by interacting with them at the bar, and offering samples, beer education, and general guidance. This makes each experience unique and creates a more social environment among tapmasters and customers .

Since each transaction is unique between customer and tapmaster and we encourage our tapmasters to perform at their best, we request payment in real-time and do not add any service charge. This ensures any tips go directly to the tapmaster that helped you and eliminates bill problems, lost cards, etc. If you are inconvenienced by this, we allow customers to pay by credit card or bank card with no additional charge, even on as little as 100THB.

Regarding the music, we keep it at a level higher than most restaurants and lower than typical beer bars. Occasionally evenings can become more energetic, however, our music is always low enough to maintain conversations. You are welcome to ask our staff to adjust the volume at any time.

Best regards.

I loved this place. It is a little pricey, but the beers are excellent, mostly European. The food was brought in from other restaurants and was a great mix of odds, ends and good things. Owner (the one I met) was very cool. Great atmosphere, cool crowd.

If you don't know Thai well, you'll probably want to have your driver drop you off near Ekamai 10 and use google to walk your way in. It's not far. A friend with us peaks decent Thai and our driver thought we were nuts until we actually saw the place.

Either way - highly recommended!
