The location of the hotel is perfect right in the middle of the most happening street in Bangkok. It is also very approachable from airport and metro stations with lots of good restaurants nearby.

The rooms are spacious with a mini kitchen and the breakfast is also good. It has a health centre and swimming pool for fitness freaks.

Overall it is a good property stay not very expensive and the staff is very courteous.

Room Tip: The higher floor have a good view of the street outside.

My husband and I were looking for a serviced apartment that had a nice pool and work out room and was close to Thonglor. We got a reasonable rate at Centre Point for a studio room. It was of good size and had free wifi. My complaint is that it smelled like cigarettes and even when we asked to change again, the other room smelled like cigarettes. So, we were upgraded one night to a one-bedroom, which if you can afford it, I'd recommend. It has a bigger kitchen and a washer and dryer!!! It also has a separate living room with a tv.

The breakfast is so-so. We always arrived late, so the food wasn't always fresh.

Service was very good. Very friendly people

I did a lot of research on Bangkok before booking this hotel, as this was a foodie trip, and we were traveling with our boys aged 6 and 7 and needed the comforts of home for them. Centre Point Thonglo was location wise the best of all worlds for us, as we were in the middle of Bangkok's best and most happening restaurant scene, within walking distance of a general store, and 15 minutes walk to the mass transit stop. We were also far enough from the malls and crowds. It was an easy taxi ride to Paragon mall, and that vicinity, so we could go there as often as we liked, without the hassle of staying in that area.

We booked two apartments - a small one bed for my parents, and a larger one bed for us, and that was ample space with a separate living/dining area and a spacious bedroom. The kitchenette was fine for making simple meals for the kids if they did not want to eat out. The bathroom was huge and well-planned. The swimming pool was clean and the kids enjoyed hanging out there. Breakfast is included with the rate, and was decent, but not sumptuous.

The only problem is that none of the staff spoke fluent English, and it was difficult to communicate some of the simplest requests, or ask for directions.

Be aware that they are very strict about charging for early check in and late check out, even for long stays.

We stayed five nights and all of us enjoyed our stay. We'll definitely go back there on our next trip.

My trip was part business, part personal, part vacation. As I was traveling with my wife and infant son and we were going to be in the Bangkok area for quite some time, I wanted something more than a traditional hotel room. After searching and comparing hotels online as well as talking to friends, we settled on the Centre Point chain of serviced apartments/hotels and chose the Thong Lo location: good neighborhood/location (if a bit trendy) and close to where I would need to be to conduct the business I had there.

We stayed in one of the larger 1 BR style apartments and it was very large indeed. The bathroom was huge and elegantly decorated. The bedroom was very large with a nice large flatscreen TV and DVD player. We had a full kitchen with utensils and cooking gear as well as a washing machine. A small 4-person table with all the settings complimented the main living/dining room which had it's own TV and DVD player as well as basic stereo system. Both the bedroom and living/dining room had their own balconies.

As these are serviced apartments, the style, layout, etc. is more of an upscale furnished apartment than a hotel room. The nice thing for us was the ability to wash our clothes, as we were in Thailand for quite some time, and it was very nice to have a full kitchen at our disposal. Sometimes, with the baby, we just wanted to be able to conveniently fix baby food and eat in the apartment, so it was very nice to have the kitchen and dining table available. It also came in handy when we had some guests over. My memory is hazy, but I believe they came in every other day to change sheets and towels and what not.

As for convenience, the Thong Lo area has everything you need within walking distance in terms of groceries, restaurants, etc. but was a very long walk to the nearest BTS Skytrain station. The hotel ran a tuk-tuk service to and from the Skytrain, but it was not always conveniently available. Our reservations included daily breakfast in their restaurant across the street which was quite good and featured a good mix of Western and Asian style breakfast fare. Cable news monitors hung in a couple different areas around the restaurant.

The one thing to prepare for, which we weren't, was the deposit you have to pay for all the kitchen and apartment utensils. The reservation agency we went through didn't describe this so we were caught off guard. You get the deposit back upon checkout after they have confirmed you haven't damaged or stolen anything, but it would have been nice to know this up front.

We recommend this hotel often to friends who are looking for a convenient long-term stay hotel or those traveling with babies or young children. You never realize how convenient it is to have a kitchen and clothes washer until you have a small pile of soiled baby clothes and are trying to prepare baby food or formula in a standard hotel room.
