It was great staying here, the garden rooms are huge with thoughtful touches and the location is quite central. The breakfast was good and the staff was friendly so all in all cant fault it. English might be a problem but generally its all OK. I enjoyed my stay and will most probably stay again but there are so many great places to choose from in BKK all under 3000 THB so really spoiled for choice.

We had booked the penthouse suite. The Suite was excellent and lived up to all our expectations, The breakfast was also excellent! The staff were very courteous and were always ready to assist. The pool area is very well maintained with easy access from the rooms.

This is my 4th stay in 3 years and the place never ceases to amaze me. Usually stay in the Garden Rooms but realized something was up when the porter was taking us in a different direction. They were overbooked so we were put in one of the Boticelli suites at no extra cost. Even if you're not staying there, ask to take a look at the rooms because its like living in a Louis 14th salon including a sitting and dressing room. Everything in the room was perfect. The entire place is so incredibly well organized, clean as can be, and the staff, while they can be a little put off-ish, warms up quickly and they are extremely helpful. The breakfast ladies are still there and its a perfect way to start the morning. Yes, some of the guests can be unfriendly, but I have found that whatever attitude quickly disappears when you start a conversation. Always, always have a good time. Yes, you can probably find cheaper but when you add the breakfast, the free passes to the sauna, etc, is it really worth saving a couple dollars staying somewhere else. Plus, I have become quite attached to the neighborhood.

Since more than 20 years I know the old and new Babylon-Sauna. I still love the new Babylon-Sauna - either barrack rooms or suites - choose what you like and can afford. The standard room cost you roughly 1700 Baht or less for 2 persons per night with free entrance to the sauna and 2 breakfasts; means at least: 800 Baht for the room for 2 persons = less than 20 € per night. If people made bad experience with thieves......touch the nose and think about: When guests bring unknown people to their room.....they must not wonder if later something is missing.....horny people forget to take care.....The Babylon is close to Silom-Road, quiet, clean, friendly stuff - very good food in the sauna-restaurant for more than reasonable prices. Every year I stay there more than 40 days all over the year - never had problems. Only sometimes my confirmed room is no more available.....lol.....but the stuff then always found an asian way to satisfy me.....

Room Tip: Not close to the shower-room or stairs.....

Stayed in a Garden Suite - nice room, quiet in garden environment and with a very nice lounge area.
Very nice breakfast.
Pool area is very nice with a relaxed atmosphere, a small restaurant and bar with good and relatively cheap food.
The gym could do with a brush -up - some of the mashines are quite old and/or do not function.

Room Tip: Garden suites are nice and placed in a quiet garden environment with a shared lounge area.

I'm a repeat visitor and have not had problems that cannot be fixed. Guests need to lower their expectations of a 5-star property while keeping their guard up. Like any place, you need to keep an eye for your belongings and use the room provided safe. For those who have been robbed, my sympathies, but you need to use it as a learning lesson to prevent future recurrences.

The pros: cheap rooms for every price point (single beds, double beds, shared bathrooms, private bathrooms, presidential suites, etc), excellent breakfast options with improved dining space, free WiFi, free entrance to adjacent sauna/spa and less than 400m to the subways.

Cons: not wheelchair friendly, lobby area has mosquitoes, WiFi coverage resets every 24hrs, not exclusively men only venue (they employ female kitchen and cleaning staff), weight limits on lift/elevator not accurate.

Room Tip: Ask for special rate if combined age of both room's occupants add to under 60.

I should have known better than stay at an exclusively gay mens hotel - it's just not me. And so it turned out. I felt like I was staying at a glorified knocking shop.
My garden suite was a little worn and tatty (light bulbs out which weren't replaced despite reporting it). The shower had mould and a bad smell from the drain.
Noisy neighbours banging doors at all hours and smoking in non smoking rooms.
I cut my stay short and took the first flight available home.
The pool is within the sauna complex and so not really ideal for those of us who want to stay for a luxury hotel experience and not a sex holiday. Day pass sauna guests use the pool as well as hotel guests so it becomes very busy and rather like a meat market. I never did find a lounger to use and gave up.
If I am ever in Bangkok again, I'll go to the ends of the earth to avoid Babylon.
Not a pleasant experience.

Room Tip: If you're interest is a nice luxury hotel and not a sex holiday, book yourself a nice 5 star hot...
