This is a long established cookery school, run by lovely people. It was our third visit to Baipai in 10 years. I'm pleased to say we are so glad we went back as it is still as good, and we had a super time! Previously it was difficult to get to on public transport from central Bangkok but now you can get the Skytrain to Ratchayothin station in under half an hour and they will collect you for the 5 minute drive to the school. The school building is a beautiful open plan traditional house set in a pretty garden. There is a large professional demonstration area, a mirror above the teacher is useful as it is easy to see what is going on in the pots or on the chopping board. 4 dishes were demonstrated and sampled in a morning. After each demonstration the class can make their own, with help and supervision from the teachers and with recipe cards to take home. Everyone has their own cooking station and ingredients are provided for you to make a good helping of each dish. There are several menus in a week so it is worth checking what is being cooked each day, especially if you have favourite dishes or like us have been before and want to try something different.
We had a lovely time as mentioned, and after the class Chef Yui kindly emailed some lovely photos of our day there. Totally recommended, we're only in Bangkok every few years but would definitely go again.
