Stayed 4 nights here in February with wife and 22 month old son. The reservation process via the e-mail form was easy. I made a change to the dates via e-mail. The changes were promptly made and a personalized e-mail sent clearly confirming the changes.
The hotel is easily confused with the Dynasty Inn (not Grande), which is a block away, so be clear about the "Grande" part if you're getting a taxi or tuk-tuk. Paid 450 Baht from the new airport, but that was without the meter and included a lot of bags and all the tolls.
The hotel was very clean everywhere - lobby, restaurant, outside, and the room. All of the front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and restaurant staff were very friendly, like most Thais seem to be. They were always helpful and courteous.
Our room was a large "deluxe" (back building) and was very clean. We had free internet access in the room, free coffee maker, a sofa, a desk, a refrigerator, and a king bed.
The fitness center is huge. Two walls of the gym are all glass windows looking down onto the street for an open feel. It is one of the best fitness centers I have ever seen in a hotel, and I stay in hotels about 150 nights a year. A small variety of cardio equipment (all in excellent working order) and almost any machine you can think of for strength training is present. All of it appeared to be new. There is also a whole set of free weights going up to 65-lb dumbells. Free bottled water is provided. The posted hours were kind of weird: 8am-8pm, but there's no lock on the door (yet), so maybe the hours aren't enforced. There are no guest rooms on that floor, so I don't know what the reason for the hours is. Photos are attached.
The restaurant is pretty good, with a nice American-style breakfast available (i.e., eggs, meat, toast, and potatoes) for a reasonable price, and an assortment of Asian and Western food for lunch and dinner. We ate there twice for breakfast and once for a late dinner. Everything was good, but once we found the nearby Starbucks that's where we went for breakfast. There are too many little hidden gem restaurants in the area to eat at the hotel too much. On Soi 8, just south of Sukhumvit Road, try Namuskaar for Indian food, Kinnaree for a very nice Thai restaurant, and Stable Lodge for cheap and delicious Thai food in a relaxed (or poolside) setting. We would stay here again, as the price, location, value and staff were all great.
