i stayed in the hotel when it first opened 3 years ago, fantastic value at 1,800 baht. i now visit bangkok 6 times a year and always stay at the grand inn for its cleanliness and service.
the facilities are exceptional, gym, pool and restaurant, yes i agree with the last review, the sausages take some getting down but the rest of the menu is fantastic and reasonable priced.
the rooms are very spacious with the biggest bathroom i have found in a hotel. you can rent a pc for your room if you do not have a lap top and the ubc tv and dvd player make your stay very comfortable.
this is the best hotel in town, easy access to the sky train, shopping and restaurants and it is only 20 min from the airport. so whether its business or pleasure the hotel provides for all.

Having spent hours on Trip Advisor looking for a hotel for two nights, we booked The Grande. We were not disappointed. It is about a four star. Taxi drivers did have a problem as The Dynasty Inn is on the same road. Do try to get it written in Thai first. The reception staff were very good and helpful. The room was spacious and very well appointed. I asked for an extension lead and one was delivered in 5 minutes. The bathroom with a large and powerful shower was most welcome. The pool was very nice with plenty of space. The food was very good. One night we ordered chicken satay at 0200. It was brilliant and was the same price as a street vendor tried to take from us ten minutes before. It is a short walk to the Skytrain at Nana. Across Sukhumvit Rd are plenty of good eating and drinking places. Dancing girls and lady boys are further down these side streets if that is what you are looking for. It is well located for shopping at MBK etc.
There are so many hotels in Bangkok with such little to choose between them, that recommendations are often all you can go on other than pot luck. This was a clean hotel which proved to be good value for money. Remember, Bangkok is a capital city and you will have to pay for it now!

As with every hotel there is good and bad. Overall staying at this hotel was a positive experience. First off MAKE SURE your taxi driver knows this is NOT the "Dynasty Grande" hotel. That hotel is in the dead center of Transsexual Ladyboy central and they may accidentally drop you off there, where you will get cat-called at by some peculiarly tall, large footed, broad shouldered women. This is the "dynasty INN grande".

First the good:

Extremely quiet room allowed for decent sleep. Location is amazing if you are looking for the infamous Nana Plaza, which is about a 1.5 minute walk away. This can also be a bad thing if like me, you're not there to hook up with Ladyboys or Female prostitutes. Expect however to see Ladyboys more than Genetic Males in this area, and that is no exaggeration. Free Wifi worked well and was fast. Shower, bathroom, and ameneties all very nice quality. The hotel is a little hard (even for taxi drivers apparently) to find, but it is within about a 1 minute walk to the skytrain which you will enjoy using to get to Gyms, Malls, and any other necessities. And with the heat, you wont want a longer walk, trust me on that. Bed was very comfortable, room was always clean. No creepy crawlies. Excellent staff and room service. Everyone smiling and helpful. Not an unpleasant experience at all. Would recommend as a mid-level quality hotel with a luxury "tint" to it.

The not so good:

Price was a little high for my tastes (nearly $87USD per night in a city I was told you could get 5 star hotels for $40 - maybe not the case anymore). No blackout curtains so somewhat bright in the mornings, woke me up at about 7am every morning (might have been the jet lag). View not so great. Trashy construction area starting up. Heavy duty construction may begin in April and that may pose noise issues, so make sure you ask for a room that does not face the construction in back. Expect to see many elderly male caucasian tourists there from UK and Australia walking around with young girls, and young Transsexuals. This hotel is extremely close (half a block) to the main drag where all the prostitute bars are.

Still, it is a very elegant lobby and far enough away to avoid that scene altogether. You simply make a right out of the hotel towards the skytrain, instead of a left.

Stayed for two nights with my wife March 8 & 9 fantastic room front building, I booked direct with the hotel. Location is ideal for all shopping and sky train. Earlier reports of problems with prostitutes not true, I would have gladly stayed with my children when they were young. The sex tourist industry does exist nearby at Nana plaza and it is worth a visit for a real eye opener couples are made more than welcome but if wish to walk past there is no issue.

Stayed 4 nights here in February with wife and 22 month old son. The reservation process via the e-mail form was easy. I made a change to the dates via e-mail. The changes were promptly made and a personalized e-mail sent clearly confirming the changes.

The hotel is easily confused with the Dynasty Inn (not Grande), which is a block away, so be clear about the "Grande" part if you're getting a taxi or tuk-tuk. Paid 450 Baht from the new airport, but that was without the meter and included a lot of bags and all the tolls.

The hotel was very clean everywhere - lobby, restaurant, outside, and the room. All of the front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and restaurant staff were very friendly, like most Thais seem to be. They were always helpful and courteous.

Our room was a large "deluxe" (back building) and was very clean. We had free internet access in the room, free coffee maker, a sofa, a desk, a refrigerator, and a king bed.

The fitness center is huge. Two walls of the gym are all glass windows looking down onto the street for an open feel. It is one of the best fitness centers I have ever seen in a hotel, and I stay in hotels about 150 nights a year. A small variety of cardio equipment (all in excellent working order) and almost any machine you can think of for strength training is present. All of it appeared to be new. There is also a whole set of free weights going up to 65-lb dumbells. Free bottled water is provided. The posted hours were kind of weird: 8am-8pm, but there's no lock on the door (yet), so maybe the hours aren't enforced. There are no guest rooms on that floor, so I don't know what the reason for the hours is. Photos are attached.

The restaurant is pretty good, with a nice American-style breakfast available (i.e., eggs, meat, toast, and potatoes) for a reasonable price, and an assortment of Asian and Western food for lunch and dinner. We ate there twice for breakfast and once for a late dinner. Everything was good, but once we found the nearby Starbucks that's where we went for breakfast. There are too many little hidden gem restaurants in the area to eat at the hotel too much. On Soi 8, just south of Sukhumvit Road, try Namuskaar for Indian food, Kinnaree for a very nice Thai restaurant, and Stable Lodge for cheap and delicious Thai food in a relaxed (or poolside) setting. (Photos attached)

We would stay here again, as the price, location, value and staff were all great.
