“Perfect for young backpackers”
Reviewed 16 January 2014

This little hotel had an amazing value. The staff were always super welcoming and supportive, they even have security at night! It does not get any better than this location! Right in the middle of everything! The pool is warm and being on the roof, has amazing views. We stayed for a week comfortably and will forsure return if we were venture back to Bangkok. Perfect for young backpackers like us! The restaurant just outside the plaza is amazing and affordable and so is the little internet shop (phones, internet access for cheap). Be warned of the Tuk Tuk scamming problems all around Koh San Road - they have nothing to do with this hotel but everyone in the area should be careful (They're good at scamming)

Room Tip: Our room was on the second floor but was super quite with no noise pollution from other rooms, the h...

It's a simple, but absolutely fine, hotel. What everyone says about the front desk is absolutely true, they are very busy and none too friendly, but they have a constant stream of check ins and outs, all day. We found that Rambuttri was great value, it worked out cheaper for my family than other guest houses in the area ( on a 1 child stays free deal), plus you have the bonus of a swimming pool in central Bangkok. It's right on Rambuttri, opposite Khao San, which is exactly where I always want to stay. I'd stay again if I could get the same deal.

We started our 1 month holiday in Rambuttri Village. The room was simple and not very clean, but it was cheap and the location is perfect. Because the bathroom is next to the hallway and has an open window, you can hear everything that goes on. We were woken up many times at night, because of loud guests in the hallway. Nonetheless good value for money.

Room Tip: Bring earplugs!

Hotel is located in one of the best areas in the city. Kohasan rd is just a 2 min walk.

Rooms were clean, good shower. Good option for budget. Plenty of places to eat.

Great base to see Bangkok by tuk tuk

Rambuttri is a great little street full of market stalls, bars and resteraunts. This hotel is situated in the heart of Rambuttri and less than a 5 minute walk to Khaosan Road.
The hotel itself is pretty decent - you get what you pay for. The room was large with all of the necessary facilities. The rooftop pool was quiet and clean with plenty of beds.
My only issue with this hotel was that during our 6 night stay, the room was never cleaned, the sheets were never changed and we had to request toilet paper and fresh towels if and when we saw the maids.
I would reccommend this hotel for familes, solo travellers, couples, and groups of friends as it is close enough to all the tourist attractions and the nightlife without all of the noise that you would normally expect from a city centre hotel.

Whenever I'm in Bangkok I always stay in Rambuttri Village. Since my last time - two years ago- I see that the prices have increased, but also a few things have improved - there's a free wifi in the hotel and a breakfast in a form of buffet with quite a big selection of food.
For me this hotel is perfect - in a great location - close to Khao San, but on a much more quiet street, I never had an issue with noise while staying in Rambuttri (and I've been there 6 times). My room and bathroom are always perfectly clean. Staff is not the friendliest indeed, but I have impression it's everywhere in Bangkok... Though I have to say that to my big surprise, when I arrived to the hotel two days ago, a lady who did my check-in was very nice, so nice staff also does exist in Rambuttri ;)
I really like that there's a possibility to leave your luggage in the hotel for a decent price - even for longer periods. The only thing I dislike is that I couldn't book a room for the future date through the reception, but it is possible only through their website (I'll be back in Bangkok in a week, and wanted to book a room already). Otherwise I do not see any negatives and consider this hotel a good value for money.

Hotel is located in one of the best areas in the city. Kohasan rd is just seconds away and there are plenty options to eat and have fun. Rooms were not fancy at all but at least were clean. Good option for budget travellers who will only use the room to rest a few hours!
