We arrived to find the front of the hotel was a building site. The noise was unbearable and our first room looked directly out onto the front courtyard and it stank of smoke. The reception staff were extremely busy but we were determined to change rome. We asked to see the manager who was most helpful showed us other rooms. We opted for one which was away from the front and was therefore quiet. We enjoyed the location and the pool. Unfortunately the pool closes at 6pm which is too early if you wanted a swim in the evening. There are several places to eat in the area and money changing was easy. We stayed there for a couple of days before we set off for Ayutthaya and came back just before the end of the holiday. Ideal location if you are given the right room.

Room Tip: Until the building works are complete go for a room at the back.

Stayed at the Rambuttri Village Inn & Plaza in a Superior Double Room in July for 3 nights. The room was simple but adequate for the stay in Bangkok. Air conditioner worked and bathroom was clean, descent double bed. I arrived late so I caught a taxi to the hotel, cost 410 Baht from BKK (I think that is about the average cost), taxi driver had the meter hidden under a towel and didn't want to use it and tried to charge 500 but I made him turn it on. The hotel is close to Khaosan road and nearby nightlife for a quick beer or two, but there are quite a few descent places on or around Soi Ram Buttri if you want to stay close. Walking distance to Grand palace and other places or interest. The hotel was close to the Phra Athrit pier to catch the orange ferry (15 baht per ride) to Sathorn Pier for connection to sky train or there piers along the river. The ferry us a great way to move around the city and connect to sky train and MTA. Customer service at reception was fine, I couldn't find deposit slip on checkout but they were helpful and I received the 1,000 Baht back. Make sure you have the deposit money when checking in. The pool was a nice way to end the afternoon after walking around the city all day. Great budget hotel for bangkok.

The room was clean but wifi could be a pain and the hotel was full of young "schoolie" types so it got a little noisy. Oh the front desk staff were a little abrasive. The pool is great and the location was right on near khao San road but still just enough away to not be to loud. Great 'street food' around there with a restaurant opposite gecko bar that had amazing Thai food, nice and cheap.

Horrible reception at the desk, incredibly rude, they want you to pay upfront and you have to bail a deposit, when you leave Thailand on checkoutday not very handy, on my question if I could deposit in the equivalent euro amount I was shouted at and was called names!
To be avoided, for the small noisy rooms with an open connection to the halls, all night returning party people took care of a short night for us! In the following morning the manager corrected this, but the first night was horror, prize/quality on the low end!!!

The room was adequate, clean but a little dated. This hotel is one street away from Khao San but on a much quieter street, with lots of godd street cafes that serve good food nearby. The staff were'er very friendly, But a good place to stay close to lots of attractions. The pool on the roof is great as well.

Room Tip: If you have heavy bags ask for a room in block A, it's the only block with a lift.

The hotel itself is quite nice and the double room i stayed in was lovely. The hotel is a 2 minute walk to Khao San Road and a 20 minute walk to Grand Palace and Wat Pho. However the receptionists have very poor customer service skills and were quite rude and abrupt at times. I would recommend to the management that they provide the staff with training in how to politely deal with money paying customers who are staying in the hotel as it cant be good business to have receptionist who are cold, ignorant and un-friendly greet you when you check in.

You get a good deal here-a clean, well-equipped room and the hotel has a nice rooftop pool. It's on a great road with lots of restaurants and stalls, quieter than K.S. which is just around the corner. Walking distance from the grand palace, wat pho and other tourist attractions.
My only complaint would be that it's not a very friendly place. I've stayed at other places on the same road without a rooftop pool and the staff have been loads friendlier and more helpful.
The hotel is very popular with families, the pool was more often than not full of kids.
