I had to go to Bangkok on a medical emergency and was booked at the Honey. The staff there took amazing care of me. I was supposed to stay for only 4 days and it turned into 10 days. They totally accommodated me - I had to switch rooms a couple of times due to previous bookings, but they always made sure I had a room. The hotel is clean, the staff friendly. The cafe was good, free breakfast everyday is nice. Poolside food/bev service was good.

The rooms, for approx 1,000 baht per night (average $30 USD) were really very nice. Obviously built for westerners. Large, comfortable beds, large showers and bathtubs, large wooden armoirs. Comfortable chairs and a vanity area. Lovely and I would definitely, and am definitely, stay there again. I met some wonderful people at the hotel, all returning visitors. Many people live at the Honey for months at a time and I can see why.

The location is ideal. Located a short walk from the busy Sukhumvit Road, with easy access to the underground metro and to the Sky Train. Easy to walk to many neighborhoods and find lots of good dining and shopping. Safe neighborhoods also - I went alone and I never felt unsafe walking around by myself.

I had absolutely no trouble with staff stealing anything from my room. The hotel does offer safe deposit boxes and also will store your luggage for 25 cents per month if you want to travel around Thailand and return to the Honey.

Highly recommended.

We have used this hotel many times as my wife is thai, but okt 07 was the last one. When we were out for a late dinner the evening before we traveled home to Norway, out hotelroom was robbet, we lost mobile phones, gold, laptop, camera. The hotelemployees did'nt care, the hotelmanager did'nt care, and bangkokpolice did'nt care. We got us self a report to use for our travelinsurancecompany at home, that was all. The hotelmanager promised to send us a letter after the investigation was finshed, but we have not received anything.

It smells insidejob long way here!

I will advice everyone to stay away from this hotel, and for sure, we will never use it again.

Good hotel, not too far off of the main throughfare. Have stayed at the Honey hotel on 3 seperate occasions. Would not recommend the rooms ajacent to the parking area, due to noise and exhaust smell. But the "inside" rooms are good, clean, and very acceptable. Room comes with breakfast at an ajoining cafe. I recommend it, and will stay there again. The New Line travel agency is located on the ground floor of the hotel, and they have been most helpful with any travel arrangements or tours.

Reserved a room for 27& 28th January directly with Honey Reservation desk. When I arrived they told me the reservation had been cancelled !
(the staff were unable to give me an explanation)

I can only assume that they overbook the rooms to ensure full occupancy.

+++++++++DO NOT RELY ON A RESERVATION+++++++++++

I happened to be staying in Bangkok for one evening back in 1981, or sometime around that time, and was introduced to the Honey Hotel by a United States Marine. I was in the United States Navy at the time. Anyway, I really enjoyed the staff and the facilities and, in 2001, returned there again and, again, really enjoyed the friendly staff and the facilities. it can cater to the bachelor looking for a good time in the local Bangkok area, or it can take care of a family. While perhaps not a 5-star hotel, for the cost, it is very affordable and has nice accommodations.
I would highly recommend it. It is relatively close to the Skyliner and just a few blocks away from the airport bus service. It is just a couple of blocks away from Soi Asoke, or better known as Soi Cowboy, a popular entertainment district, and from nice department stores and tour offices.

This is the best 3 star hotel in Bangkok. Ok, in a 3 star hotel you don't rave about the service, but there's nothing wrong with it here.
The Honey is in an ideal position on Soi 19 Sukhumvit. Quietly down the soi, and just three minutes walk from Asoke BTS, Sukhumvit MRT, and Robinsons with their lovely food hall in the basement. 30 Baht will get you a great meal here!
7/11 store is just a couple of doors away, and plenty of ATM machines down this soi.
There is a quiet comfortable bar just 3 doors away with delicious foreign food as well as the local cuisine.
The hotel itself is one of the older hotels. Don't expect a view from the windows because for these prices you won't get much.
There are 3 types of room; the cheapest room they don't advertise - you have to ask for it at 800 Baht. It's a standard unrefurbished room in the car park area with some noise.
The rest of the hotel is quiet and reasonably well decorated. Rooms are around 1100 Baht including two breakfasts. They also have larger (but not huge) and smarter rooms available at 1,500 Baht. If you're a non-smoker you must tell them as smokers seem to leave their odour in a majority of the rooms.
There is a small pool in front of the hotel separated from the pavement and road by a tall wall. A nice but not completely quiet area to relax in after venturing out into the city.
There is also a restaurant which serves foreign and local food at reasonable prices for a hotel restaurant.
I recommend it, and have stayed there many times. Ideal for singles, couples and families on a budget.
The hotel motto - 'Small enough to call home'.
