“Cheap location”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 December 2013

The hotel is relatively cheap and the amenities are reflected in the price. Location wise, it is great, with plenty of food just outside of the hotel. However, hygiene within the hotel is something you should consider as there were cockroaches around the place, even in the room!!

Good location if your looking to get around by yourself as it is right opposite the train station. Food at the hotel is of an excellent standard both for breakfast and dinner. Rooms are large and comfortable. The deluxe rooms are huge compared to the standard room. Check in staff have good basic English, the restaurant staff struggle through with a few words. Only negatives, the passages didn't have aircon, so as soon as you walked out your door the heat hit you in the face. And there is an open sewer in the area ( they are everywhere and hard to avoid) so often when the door of the elevator opened you would step into the stink that had come up the shaft. Good tourist shopping in the area, a chemist on the same street and a 7/11 and even a Mcdonalds next door.

Room Tip: pay the extra for a deluxe, its worth it

I was able to get a room at around $45 a night. For that price the hotel is well worth it. Rooms are decent size, pretty quiet and the hotel is next to Chong Nonsi BTS and easy walk to most venus on Silom.

Pool area seems to have deteriorated since I last stayed though. No umbrellas so it was a bit of a desert wasteland when the sun came out. A shame because in the past I'd spend quite a few hours there reading and soaking through a hot afternoon.

Internet works OK. Not that fast, but adequate to do the basic email and web browsing.

Plenty of cheap tasty places to eat around the hotel with a 7 11 out front too.

Because of the pool I'm not sure I'll stay again, but if you tend to not use a hotel pool then I'd still recommend the hotel as being affordable and conveniently located.

This hotel located in one of the strategic location in Bangkok - Silom area. It is just few steps next to Chong Nonsi BTS station ( Silom line ), one of the major interchanged station. 4 stations to reach Siam station ( Siam Paragon, Siam Center, MBK etc. ) where you got access to Sukhumvit Line. Towards another direction, it's just 3 stations to reach Saphan Taksin & Chao Phyra River. There're two 7-elevens store, McDonalds and other food stalls next to the hotel. This is definitely one of the good location to stays if you're bored with Sukhumvit area. :)

The hotel just renovated and the design is in modern style where you will like it. Stays in both Grand Deluxe and Deluxe rooms during this trip. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Worth for the money.

Great location, just beside BTS Chong Nonsi.
When you need supper you can head over to Lek seafood which is just few minutes walk.
Mcdonald and 7-eleven is also nearby.

I like the big room, we actually book for standard room but auto upgraded to deluxe room with a bathtub and very clean glass view toilet!

What I don't like is when checking in the hotel it take me some time to do it.
Would surely recommend to friends for their bangkok trips.

Second time in I-Residence. Won't come back.

Noisy neighbours (thin walls?). Noisy aircon.

One night there was a private function at the outdoor pool on 10th floor (I was on 8th) with terrible music (karaoke), lasting 40 minutes longer than advertised. Not nice when you're there with a jetlag... When complaining, staff giggled about my opinion of the music. I didn't see the funny side.

Beds are on wheels on laminted floors, so you may travel around the room!

Having been out on an early morning city trip (06:30-12:50), the room hadn't been made upon my return, even when I had switched on the "make up my room"-lights.

Good location, opposite BTS Chong Nonsi and thus in the middle of Bangkok.

Room Tip: Main tower is away from the busy streets. Ask to be able to change a room if the neighbors are noisy

With so many great options and generally very reasonable prices, there's absolutely no reason to stay here. With poor service and below par rooms not to mention that its impossible to get a shower thats not either boiling hot or cold, much better to stay at the many reasonably priced options in this great location in Bangkok. The Heritage directly opposite is far better. Being on the opposite side of the street to the Heritage though, not only is this a far inferior option but the traffic noise from the main road behind detracts even further from this being a good option.
Though the rooms are noisy and charmless and not particularly well maintained, the pool is nice and the breakfast good.

Room Tip: Would suggest choosing the many better options around here (heritage, glow trinity) and if you do st...
