“Great stay”
Reviewed 10 December 2013 via mobile

Overall this hotel is great. From the staff to the food, the atmosphere, the location, everything. The BTS and metro are close and easy to use and there are plenty of good shopping areas close by. We were fortunate to be there during the King's birthday celebrations and it was lovely to be included in the staff celebration. There is one problem though which is a big one. The windows in the rooms are single glazed and don't seal properly. While back ground traffic noise was not an issue, the construction work going on at 2am was. This meant we didn't get a lot of sleep and did put a bit of a damper on an otherwise wonderful stay. Overall would recommend.

Spent only one night at Siam@Siam with my family. Extremely trendy and "hiipster" hotel- it's almost like staying at an art gallery! Colourful and vibrant. The pool is trendy and looks out over the horizon of buildings and city life of Bangkok. Unfortunately our stay was cut short for a few reasons, which are by no means at the fault of the hotel. There was construction going on all night long just outside the hotel and none of us could sleep it was terrible. A couple of guests just up from us were drunk and fighting since they couldn't sleep either, which terrified my son (3yrs). For some reason the hotel gave my husband and I separate beds?!? We booked a king size bed and a fold out for our son but ended up with 3 separate beds. By 3am I had about enough and went downstairs to see the Night Manager. He was amazing and so helpful and apologetic. He immediately moved our room to another floor and gave us an upgrade. When I got back to my room to tell the family to pack our bags I found my son had managed to fall asleep. We decided to stay in our room for the sake of our boy and just put up with what was going on. At 5am when the construction stopped, and we were drifting off to sleep, the chants of the Karan were sung and there was no way we were getting any sleep after that!
The hotels pool is not suitable for kids who like to play rather than be trendy and relax poolside and it's got quite a scary drop off over the ledge (which makes for an amazing view of Bangkok).
Since the hotel is boutique and "arty" there's a lot of colourful objects my son wanted to touch and play with and I found myself stressing out saying "don't touch" a million times!
For couples this hotel is fantastic, for families I wouldn't bother. We changed to Anatara Riverside resort and it is a lot more appropriate!!!!
I rate the room as poor due to its location to construction site only. Apart from that, the room is delightful and very comfortable.

Bangkok is a city which is highly commutable via tuktuk, taxi or light rail transit. When traveling to Bangkok, best to stay in a hotel that is near or highly accessible with public transport.

Siam@siam is located a short walking distance from the National Stadium station of BTS. The rooms are work of art and detailed. And not your typical hotel. Not afraid of color, you will be welcomed with splash of orange. This is NOT your average plain and boring hotel.

Pros: aside from close to a BTS station, it is a walking distance to Jim Thompson home (a must see attraction); stylized room; great restos; good looking pool; details and work of art as you explore the property.

Cons: pool is deep (wondering why it is not built for Asian) that would be ideal for a basketball player; bath area in the room is high (again, I would assume that it works for tall people); no locks in the bathroom and window partition that opens to the bedroom (tip: unless you check in as a couple, make sure you advise your companion when you'll use the bathroom)

Overall, though I was not able to try the spa, ideal hotel for a great stay in Bangkok.

I stayed here for my birthday for a total of 4 nights!! It's such a beautiful hotel. With the amazing sky bar also!! We tried the spa out too which is great. They even have a downstairs bar/karaoke/club!! So much to do within the hotel. The location is superb. You can literally walk to Siam shopping centres - 3 massive ones. It is also a very short walk from the sky train which can take u almost anywhere you want to go in Bangkok ! Would 100% recommend this hotel.

Extremely friendly staff who look happy to work there and go out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. Rooms are comfortable, trendy and have a great view of the city. Hotel restaurants and bars offer great variety and are of an affordable price. Would recommend!

Stayed for 3 nights to complete our Thailand holiday before flying home.

The hotel bills itself as a design hotel - and it is certainly that. Amazing design of rooms and public areas. The pool area with its view are great and made a refreshing start to the day in hot humid and crazy Bangkok.

I was out and about too much to make too many comments on what the hotel has to offer but it´s location for sightseeing is good with the SkyTrain station and Jim Thomson House just a short stroll away. Treat yourself to a cocktail on the roof - amazing night time views over the City.

They lose a couple of points for the chaotic breakfast - yes, I get you are a busy and popular hotel but a few smiles and better coffee refill service from the staff would improve the whole situation. I would however say that the food selection at breakfast is fantastic. Best of my trip.

We enjoyed our stay here 2 years ago and decided to return again. The room was as good as last time - king size bed and our son slept on the couch made into a bed. The decor is quirky but you get used to it. The room was always clean and staff would quickly respond when you needed an extra face washer for example. The staff were well mannered and polite, except for the breakfast staff who were quite cold and at times slow to respond to requests. The breakfast buffet was as good as last time with many enjoyable options.
We were disappointed the downstairs restaurant no longer had their special nights for dinner like they had 2 years ago. They were fantastic. We experienced an all you eat can eat seafood night and an American themed night with the best barbecued chicken I have ever eaten!

The pool is great. We always swam late in the afternoon but at this time you can't get a table or deck chair. This didn't concern us as we stayed in the pool most of the time and enjoyed the view over Bangkok from the edge of the infinity pool.
The elevators are a concern because you have to wait for so long to get one. I had to skip 5 elevators because they were all full on the morning we checked out because many people were doing the late run to breakfast.

The location is great. MBK shopping centre is 5 minutes away and Tesco just 2 minutes away to the right. Tesco is great for your snacks and drinks and worth a look at all the other things they have too. It's a bit like Kmart in Australia with a supermarket added. The skytrain is 2 minutes walk away too.

The travel desk was very helpful with advice, even though we didn't book any tours.

Room Tip: Request a room away from the front of the hotel to avoid any street traffic noise.
