“What a cool funky Hotel”
Reviewed 22 July 2009

Stayed at Hotel with my wife after 10 days in Phuket, What a great Hotel staff were friendly and helpfull, Hotel was in a great location close to MBK and station room was a god size large comfy bed. Good buffet breakfast and live music in the bar at night different bands. If you stay here treat yourself to a meal in the rooftop restaurant. The pool was also great not big but an amazing set up and worth having a dip.

Hi

We stayed at Siam@Siam in early July 2009 with 16 family members. It is a funky hotel in a great spot right near MBK and National Stadium skytrain. There was a bit of a mix up with our rooms but the hotel management prompty sorted it out and gave us an additional room at no cost. I have stayed in Bangkok over 20 times and I must admit that almost all the hotels I have stayed in have been excellent. However, I will definitely stay at Siam@Siam again.

Exellect service. A modern hotel which is fun and artistic. Very close to MBK shopping center and to the train station. One tip, I found it was acctually cheapest to book tours through the hotel then anywhere else in Bangkok. This is not the case for other places in Thailand though. If I go back I would stay here again.

great location right by all the shops and stations which was great - rooms were nice and was great to have a view of the stadium - breakfast included was good buffet finished a bit early (10am) loved the chewy banana sweets we got every night. the pool was nice to look didnt use but great view - tv had good english channels - one problem with the room was not very well lit so was very very dark at night! (no working or packing) didnt go on any tours use the spa or eat in the restaurant so cant comment. overall really great location, comfy beds and nice breakfast - did really like but to be honest wouldnt stay at again - i like cool hotels and although the deco was cool the other guests were not - very touristy.

Firstly, this hotel has style. It oozes from every corner. From the colour schemes, the use of recycled materials to the comfortable yet wacky fittings found in the rooms. This may not be everybody's cup of tea though. My wife and I quite liked it and we hope that some of you that may find yourselves looking elsewhere will reconsider.
The location is great. It's a couple of minutes walk from the National Stadium BTS Station. And only a few more minutes further to the MBK shopping centre (one of my personal favourites). Also a Tesco Lotus is just a 5 minute walk away on the same side of the street as the hotel but in the opposite direction to MBK. Tuk Tuk's and Taxi's are all over the street ready to take you to wherever you want to go. All in all a fantastic location for getting around Bangkok, shopping and dining.
As I stated before this hotel has quite a style about it. The rooms are a good size, the bed was actually two single beds put together to make a double. Was fine for us though and very comfortable. The floors were polished concrete, unpainted. The lamps around the room were pieces of wood that were untouched. Meaning not polished, cut or worked in any way. There was a sliding piece of glass used as a privacy screen between the bedroom and toilet/shower area. The shower was very good, lots of hot water with good pressure. The view from the room was very nice. It was overlooking the National Stadium and city skyline.
We didn't eat at the restaurant for lunch or dinner, but we did have the buffet breakfast. It was very nice. Good spread of food both Western and Asian. I would recommend having the breakfast here.
The pool is very cool. The size isn't big, but it's on the 4 floor overlooking the city with drop off pool edges which look like the water is pouring out of it. You definitely need to go at least once while your there.
The staff were mostly professional and their English very good. There is a transport/taxi desk in the entrance to the hotel. I would stay clear of it. All they wanted to do was take you to tailors and gem stores. They would ignore what you requested and always go back to "my friend has the best tailor store in Bangkok, let me take you there". Just ignore them, grab one of his Bangkok maps (they are free) and go about exploring Bangkok yourself.
All in all I would most definitely stay at this hotel again purely for the location alone.

I have stayed in many hotels but this would have to be one of the most funkiest places I have stayed.
From the ground floor dinning and reception area to the 14th floor lobby with the beautiful salt water pool hanging of the edge of the building to the roof top restaurant and bar, it has an abundance of style and great design. Its design can be described as urban with plenty of murals and art work all over the hotel.
The rooms are polished concrete but softened with natural timbers and the use of bright colours, only criticism about the rooms is that they need to update the TV to flat screens, the CRT models give it a slightly dated look.
The roof top restaurant is fabulous and the food is great with fantastic views of Bangkok.
Location is also good with close proximity to all the shopping malls and also the skytrain allowing you to get around Bangkok in aircon comfort as opposed to battling the notorious traffic jams.

Arrived in Bangkok after 11 days in Karon, to do the shopping etc.

First impression of the Hotel, was pretty poor, the processing through reception was slow and confusing, the staff were not interesting in making you feel welcome or comfortable, when we arrived, we arrived with 4 other people and they reported the same feelings.

The Room when we finally got there (lifts are the slowest in the world, too bad if you were busting for the loo) was nicely fitted, with quite cool fittings and architectural design, however the room smelt revolting like mould, this never changed whilst we were there.

The hotel is pretty cool in appearance, however the staff didn't have the same feel for tourism as Phuket, the staff were not really interested in what your needs were.

The restaurant was expensive, however the food was pretty good, there is a restaurant on the top floor which has a dress code, didn’t find that out until we got up there after a five minute lift ride :-) so we went else where.

They did have a cool live band whilst we were there, and its only 200 odd metres from the MBK centre and there is a really good massage parlour which was really well priced, the spa was expensive, so we went next door, for heaps cheaper.

On a positive note, the hotel offers convenience to the MBK centre, however i think next time i will stay at the Parthanum Princess (or whatever its called) which is attached to the MBK centre.
