If you want to stay somewhere that is absolutely ultra modern with polished concrete floors and walls and has bright colours (oranges/yellows), timber and steel used as complementary features, which is 5 minutes walk from MBK, around the corner from Jim Thompson's, across the street from the large Gem Boutique nearly everyone visits, across the street from the main sports stadium, has a great outlook, fabulous rooms, great staff and fabulous food, try Siam @ Siam.

My husband and I, together with our friends, another couple, had just arrived at Bangkok after disembarking the Diamond Princess. Our driver took us around the back roads, through a shopping centre car park and drove up what appeared to be a lane way, to the entry of Siam @ Siam. Our friends, who have stayed in Bangkok before, initially thought we were in the middle of nowhere and I, who had organised the accommodation, was feeling sick!

It didn't take long to realise this new (not refurbished) boutique hotel was "unique". We were hardly out of the car when greeted by staff who asked our names and accompanied us to the lifts and all the way to the Executive Check In on Level 22. (The next time we saw our luggage was in our room). Again, a bit of a surprise as we sat in lounge chairs adjacent to an office type desk to complete the necessary paperwork and were asked if we would like coffee or juice or something to eat. This area proved to be not only the check-in and out point for those staying on the Executive Levels, but also the area for those wanting a continental breakfast (included) and for evening Cocktails - yes, you are provided complimentary access to a full bar together with canapes from 6pm to 8pm in an area overlooking the setting sun. The night we arrived we just relaxed with our friends enjoying the drinks, canapes and outlook and didn't remember to have dinner. (Don't forget we had just disembarked from a 21 day cruise where we hadn't stopped eating). This was just perfect for us!

We chose to have our breakfast from the beautiful buffet on the ground level (the alternate choice if you didn't want the continental). The food and service was fabulous, again complimentary on the Executive Floors, so you can imagine that the extra dollars are well worth it. Each evening in this restaurant there is entertainment.

Both couples celebrated our wedding anniversaries on the roof top restaurant, which is a must do. It really is on the roof top - open air - very trendy. We arrived just as the sun was setting and the city lights were coming to life. The ambience and service is fabulous, although I must say, I have had better food. It was reasonably expensive but I still wouldn't have missed it for the world. You shouldn't either.

The magnificent infinity pool is located on the Lobby Level, as is a bar, free internet access (there is also access on the Executive Level). There is a spa and gym floor, although I didn't visit there - too busy shopping, although I am sure it would have been a great experience too. We even received a special discounted offer to visit.

We stayed in room 2304 and loved it. Extremely roomy, large in fact, with everything you could want, again with this stunning polished concrete, steel and timber finish. Each morning we received the daily newspaper. It was hard to leave the hotel, but we did come to shop!~

Although this hotel has a station right next to it, we took a short walk up the street to MBK and there is no need to shop anywhere else. It's huge and daunting. There is a department store attached. The bottom levels have some brands (not copies) and you just keep going up and up and wider and wider. Make sure you get a directory, however still expect to get lost! On level 5 there is a really good and safe place to eat. Kind of a food court, but you each receive a card like a credit card when entering and when you chose you meals (very cheap) they scan the card and you pay for everything when you exit. Very clean, good safe food, toilets, drinks, desserts, etc. Level 4 is phones, phones and more phones. Try and work out what you want and how much they are before you go there.

If you truly want a "Brand" shopping centre, it is diagonally across from MBK. We bought a couple of things we specifically needed there, otherwise, we wouldn't have bothered.

If you would like to go some where specific, ask at the hotel concierge desk and it is very likely they will drive you there in the Hotel car like they did for us. You wouldn't get this type of friendly Thai service in one of the larger hotels.

We didn't go to the night markets, as we believed they would have the same things to offer as MBK did. We just relaxed at our hotel.

If you don't like trendy things, full of atmosphere and prefer the 'Glam', this hotel is not for you, but we were all around 60 (I hate to admit) and loved it. Hope you do too!

I cannot recommend this hotel enough!! The hotel is ideally located for the shopping district, and the famous MBK. Khoa San Road is only a 100BHT tuck tuck ride away and a taxi from the airport was 500BHT. We were upgraded to an Executive Room, which entitled us to free food and drinks from 6pm - 8pm. The actual hotel is beautiful, and has an incredible infinity pool which offers views over the city. Rooms were clean and luxurious, staff extremely helpful and the food at breakfast was delicious! I'm already planning to go back!

After travelling throughout the Thai islands in the south, and Chiang Mai in the north, we (4 x 27 year old friends) arrived at Siam@Siam for 3 days of shopping - Bangkok style.

We stepped out of the taxi to excellent service from the Hotel staff, sorted our luggage and check in without problems. The staff ensured our two rooms were on the same floor (we went with Biz-class Executive rooms on the 23rd/24th floor), and instantly offered us a free late checkout as we had a late flight back home.

All staff were super friendly at all times, always willing to help, and spoke good English.

Our two rooms were booked as 1 x queen/king bed in one room, and 2 x single beds in the other. Both rooms were excellently appointed with all the mod cons you would require, however the 2 x single bed room was MUCH bigger (prob double the size) than the double bed room. The two beds were actually double bed size and were pretty much pushed together (this didn't bother us as we were close friends).
I'd nearly recommend for a couple to get a "2 x single bed" room, as the beds were pushed together and made a super king size bed!
The "2 x single bed" room had an office desk and computer-style chair, which the double room seemed to lack.
Bathroom had two options to shower.. a shower over bath, as well as shower over floor (more traditional asian style) with good hot water and water pressure. Aircon worked almost too well, we needed to turn it off sometimes as it got too cold. The only negative I could say about the room would be that the TV was pretty old (CRT) and small (maybe ~60cm) and was fixed to the wall, high up and far from the bed. I'd expect a new hotel such as this to have plasma/LCD TVs, but really, who spends much time watching TV in their hotel room anyway?

Location was perfect. 10 min walk to MBK, Siam Paragon, Discovery Centre, and Centre Siam, which are all the four big shopping centres you need to visit. 5 min walk to National Stadium Skytrain station, and a 15 baht train ticket will get you to MBK Skytrain station, if you cant be bothered with the 10 minute walk.
It was a 160-300 baht taxi meter to the Airport (traffic depending), and 60 baht (taxi) or 80-100 baht (tuk tuk) to Sukumvit.
Although there was alot of tuk tuk drivers and local people hanging around on the foot path at night, we never felt unsafe walking around the area outside the Hotel.

I could tap into free WIFI everywhere in the hotel except when outside on the Executive Lounge (level 22) and on the roof (level 25). The WIFI was quite an acceptable speed.
I didnt use any of the hotel provided PCs although I saw 3 on the Lobby (level 11), and 1 in the Executive Lounge (level 22), and they both never seemed to have any queue for use.

Our Biz-class rooms gave us access to the Executive lounge on Level 22, which served free drinks and canapes from 6pm-8pm daily. The canapes were not very nice at all (we found ourselves snacking on the peanuts), but the range of beer, wine, spirits, and soft drink was very good, and the view from the large balcony area was fantastic as the sun went down each night. On a very still night with no wind, we found the Bangkok air quality pretty yuck, very smoggy, and preferred sitting inside instead.

Dinner prices on the roof top indoor restaurant "La Vue" seemed a bit pricey, so we ate on the actual rooftop itself, which was still expensive compared to street-level, but when considering youre on 25th level of a 4.5 star hotel, very reasonably priced. We tried the Stone Grill dishes which ranged around 750-1100 baht, and a hot grill is served with raw meat, and you get to cook your steak just as you want. Alot of fun, ensured a prefectly cooked piece of meat, and very cheap compared to a similar experience at home (Australia).
Also sampled a number of cocktails on the rooftop, whilst kicking back on one of the couches, and they which were all excellent quality (yummy!). Priced at about 310 baht, they were not cheap cheap, but once again, cheaper than at home.

Buffett breakfast was included in our room-rate and was quite a good quality. Big range, eggs cooked to order, easy to get seated, but basically zero staff service if you needed anything. Served from 7am-10am (I think), I only had the buffett breakfast one day due to sleeping in past 10am the other days.

I didnt use spa, gym, mini bar or room service, not sure what the prices or service was like for these things.

There was a massage place 50 metres walk from the hotel which was very good and very well priced, I would recommend this to anyone. (walk out the hotel doors, to the main road, turn left, and walk 20 metres).

The pool on the Level 11 lobby area looked awesome, however we never actually went for a swim, mainly because it was either too busy (there were not many sunbeds in total), or the weather was not that hot (surprising for Bangkok).
The pool looked great, but there was not alot of room outside of the pool to relax, sunbake, etc, and there was alot of shady areas, so not great if you want to tan.

All in all, an excellent experience. For the price, compared to Australian hotels, this was super value! I would recommend to anyone who wants to goto Bangkok to shop, and happy for a 10-15min taxi/tuk tuk ride for nightlife/bars, etc.

We will definitely staff at Siam@Siam the next time we are in Bangkok - no questions!

You can't beat the location of the Siam@Siam for a short visit to Bangkok; major shopping centres in walking distance, and easy access to get to and from the airport. There are a heap of 4 and 5 star hotels in Bangkok and we have stayed in several of them, and they all tend to blur into one. Not so the Siam@Siam - it is something quite different with industrial style, bold architecture. Our room was large and had a good view. There is a decent buffet breakfast provided although the waiting service is so-so, and the coffee fairly average. Two free internet computers are provided but the service is a tad slow and unreliable. The pool area is the poor point of the hotel. A tip for others - don't use the hotel's massage service, just around the corner (to the left of the hotel) is an excellent massage service at a quarter of the price. All in all though this hotel was memorably different and really good value for money. We have already booked into the Siam@Siam again so that is the best recommendation we can give,

With at location 200m from the Stadium Skytrain station and all the major Shopping centers within walking distance, it really cant be much more convienient when it comes to location.
The hotel has all the facilities you need for at for a 2-5 days stay. A decent gym, a good breakfast restaurant (inside=airconditioned), a fancy rooftop bar and restaurant and a swimmingpool and sunbed area.
The sunbed area consists of only 15 sunbeds and a couple of tables, so it really gets crowded fast.
We had two connecting rooms and plenty of space for our 3 nights stay. on the 17th floor we were not affected by the traffic outside, but the noice from the build-in airconditioners where rather significant.
Nice design hotel on a central location.

We were really impressed with this hotel. Nice and modern and funky everywhere - from the entrance to the toilets.
The breakfasts were good although never really had a great cup of tea or coffee - but otherwise fine.
Loved the restaurants - both the top floor (where you eat on the roof under the stars) and also the other restaurant the floor below that. This was quite expensive but compared to Aus restaurants it was not too bad.
The pool was disappointing. It looked really nice but was so busy you could not get a seat at all. People sitting there taking up all the room with their feet on spare chairs but nobody bothered to offer a seat. It was quite a cold pool for Thailand but quite refreshing.
In a great position - walk to all the shopping and train station. Not far from the night markets.
Would definitely recommend this hotel - especially to the young although it will probably be too expensive for them.
