People don't even know this place is here. When you enter the gate, you're somewhere else--somewhere peaceful, calm, and *stylish*.

The owners of this property (and it's a TRUE independent hotel) have *taste*, no joke. Lovely furniture, stylish as all get out. It's not a brand spanking new 5 star or anything, but it's a huge win at a great price, with superb service, awesome city location, great food (breakfast isn't a crappy buffet!). A perfect urban finish after a week at Banyan Tree on Samui.

Loved it and will return.

i thought this place was great i mean the rooms were huge i had the 53 and it was really big a lot bigger than i expected. the service was great always and it was private which i loved. the people were great also. i thought the location was perfect. i know some people complained about the noise but i thought otherwise when i walked into the hotel area i just felt like everything stopped. the seclusion of it made the noise go away i thought from the busy roads outside. there is a huge gym in the building on the corner also you can pay to join which was great. i thought the value for the quality was really good also. i stayed a week and wish i had more time there. great place!!! oh yeah the food was good also there i enjoyed it.

After reading a few not so great reviews and for the price I was paying, I honestly wasn't expecting much. The reason I chose this hotel was that for a member of the Small Leading Hotels of the World, I found the pricing really good (I only paid THB3400 a night) and decided to give it a shot. I've stayed at over a dozen different hotels in Bangkok alone in the past several years so it's quite a big deal for me to say that this hotel is perhaps the absolute best value you can get in Bangkok. Firstly, the location of the hotel is good but not great. A mere 5-7 mins walk from the Asok station, its not really thick of the action but within close walking distance to most things you could require. The Benjakitti park is right opposite the hotel and its the second largest park in Bangkok after Lumpini Park with a jogging/cycling track of 2km around the lake. A short walk from the hotel and you can go jogging there in the mornings/evenings, really nice. Though if that's not your thing, if I'm not mistaken Soi Cowboy is just 7-10mins walk from the hotel. The building itself is not particularly inspired and looks quite drab from the outside but its the beauty within that counts. A truly boutique luxury hotel with very nice furnishings and fancy technology (Bang & Olufsen television in the lobby and big flat screen tvs with Bose surround sound speaker in the rooms). The jacuzzi in the room was really nice and deep and large compared to other hotels. The rain shower wasn't the best though as it was hard to control and just didn't seem to fit in with the other luxuries in the room. The bathroom and dressing room was really large and my partner thoroughly enjoyed it. The king size bed was soft and comfortable. The leather chair in the room was also really comfy and perfect for reading. The lighting in the room could definitely be improved though with some parts of the room such as the wardrobe really dark. All said and done, this hotel should deserve a 4 star rating considering its nice amenities and room for the price and value. However for me the service was what took it to another level. Simple things like the free of charge minibar and free coffee/tea at the bar at the lobby all day long gave a feeling of luxury and that they aren't so money minded. The service of the staff we encountered was truly wonderful and on par with any high end luxury resort in Asia. From the check in onwards the service was never lacklustre. Simple things like whenever we arrive, the staff would rush to open the large door for us and then rush to press the elevator button to the bar girl/guy suggesting and preparing super yummy iced coffees and iced teas for us to enjoy free of charge to the friendly guy at the counter checking to make sure everything was ok and telling me to email him for discounts in the future all added to a a feeling of luxury and comfort. I saw one of the previous reviews complain about the lackadaisical attitude of some of the younger staffs and I suppose this can be true as I saw a couple of them slacking off but thankfully over the weekend I stayed there were other more senior staff who were absolutely excellent. At the price they are charging, this hotel thoroughly deserves the five stars!

Rooms are great, incredible jacuzzi and all the rest. Excellent location for trains and shopping. You'll need earplugs as the front rooms are noisy due to the traffic. I stayed three nights and the service left much to be desired. Looks like most of the staff are college students more interested in texting or watching tv behind the bar, rather than providing the five- star service this property misleads you into expecting. Without getting into examples of the mediocre service, I would highly suggest the management hire qualified and motivated staff. Luxury is more than the building and design, its how the staff treat their guests. Don't waste the opportunity to improve. My expectations weren't met, which is why a more reliable luxury chain will be chosen over the Maduzi next time. How did this hotel get selected by SLH??

Room Tip: Rooms on the front are noisy, take earplugs. Also noisy AC with vents that blow over bed.

This was a wonderful way to start off our Thailand vacation. All of our friends were staying in the middle of Sukhimvit and we were SO happy to stay here. Just off the main road. Yet, if we wanted to be in the middle of everything, it was just a short walk (2 blocks) to the BTS station, which takes you anywhere you want to go. The rooms were great. Spacious and modern. The bathrooms were fab. The breakfast was delish. There is a bar right when you walk in, and they have happy hours with specials (and sometimes free drinks) every night. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. And when we left, we tried to leave a tip for everyone that we worked with, and they wouldnt accept it! They said that they could not take it and that they're reward would be us coming back. Umm OKAY! We would absolutely stay here again. Zero complaints.

Important tip: Be sure to have the concierge write down the name and address of the hotel in Thai, to show your cab drivers. They will not find it if they don't have this!

the hotel locates behind Exchange Tower, office building in central of Sukhumvit area,
it is walkable distance from subway MRT-Sukhumvit or skytrain BTS-Asoke
Hotel entrance is pretty mystery, it seems like a hidden secret garden.
there is no trolly, you need to find the entrance and ask staffs to help carry luggages.
parking is not a problem at all if you travel by personal car.
hotel has a policy to staff, not to take any money tip from guests.
hotel staffs are friendly and helpful, we were offered one welcome drink at anytime during our stay.
room is nicely and elegant décor
we had in-room breakfast service, not so variety of choice but comfy.
the room has no noise even the hotel is just next to the main street.
there is a 7-11 convenienct store just a 5 min-walk inside Sukhumvit soi 16 or 18 (I forgot the number)

minus point
no trolly service (I feel sorry for staff),
room layout make bathroom too big, bedroom becomes small compare to overall size

plus point
the bar at entrance is nice for chit-chat
to offer free mini-bar is really generous
mattress quality is good
free internet available
the idea of elevator is fun

Room Tip: have a drink at the bar and look all lobby decor....talk to bartender, he will tell you some fun sto...

Noticed this hotel since 4 years ago when the original opening price was more than 10000THB. This year I can get a beautiful and affordable price around 5000THB at peak season. (In other words, the guests in the past years proved this hotel didn't worth so much).

The hotel is small, but room is large, more than 49 square meters, might be the largest rooms (not suite) in Bangkok. The amenities are high standard, Bose sound system, Artemide light, Kohler bath, Panpuri toiletries and Sealy bed, which are really 5-star hotel level and even better.

On the other hand, the hotel is too small, only 40 rooms, they don't have enough staff to provide service. For example, breakfast was ok in the first 3 days, but was very slow in the last morning, bread came without butter and jam, coffee and tea came first instead of last (that's our habit), and staff forgot fruit plates (each person should have one), when we reminded her, the fruit plate came in a larger plate but looked like only for 2 persons (we have 3 persons). The lady who work in reception needed to come to restaurant to take orders and serve table, even my parents who didn't travel often can obviouly feel the service quality dropped dramatically. There were 1-2, maximum 3 tables (no more than 6 guests) to be served in the first 3 days, however, in the last morning, there were only a little more, 5 groups(tables), totally 10-14 guests, and NOT came at the same time, but staff cannot handled them properly.

I had read comments from tripadvisor in detail and got the same conclusion after visit. Hotel location is great, only 5 min walk to BTS/MRT, but in a maybe too low profile so some guests said difficult to find. Jacuzzi is excellent, maybe the best I had ever used, bubbles are soft although some guests may think not strong enough. Shower head is too weak so you definitely need to use the jacuzzi after taking a simple shower (maybe that's their purpose). CD/DVD player is provided but hotel didn't have library to borrow DVD (or staff didn't inform us). Complimentary minibar is enough, TV channels are few and poor quality(maybe the problem of channel provider, hotel use NEC TV). German language magazine (why?), no alarm clock, no weight scale, no note papers(basic necessities of a luxury hotel), but with letter paper and fax machine, also with comfortable lying chair. Oh! hotel DON'T have swimming pool if that's imporant for some guests.

In conclusion, my subjective opinion is this hotel good and private. Even local Thais don't know the hotel, if you are a celebrity and need privacy, it is definitely a good choice. For those guests who don't need too much services like us(only checkin, breakfast, housekeeping and checkout), it is still not bad. But if the guest need more service or help (laundry, tour, room service, taxi) from the hotel, they might feel disappointed.

Room Tip: Studio 49 and 53 are actually the same. 49 is with fewer natural sunlight ( because of the room and...
