“Good, but be aware of hidden costs”
Reviewed 31 January 2012

This hotel offers good value for money on the basis of just the rooms alone. The problem is a bit that it tries to make up for that by having high minibar rates, high breakfast charges and unacceptably high internet charges. Free internet is common in bangkok, with just a few hotels still charging. Even if they do charge, the lobby or the bar will normally have free internet. Apparently to lock guests in, this place has no free internet anywhere; at a rate of USD 15 per day, almost 12.5 per cent of the daily room rate itself, they are simply overcharging.

That said, the rooms are great.

I have reviewed this hotel before. Now that I stayed here again this is a short update. The rooms are still great, this time they gave me one with a good view on the interchange between Asoke and Sukhumvit, view on the skytrain and the new mall. Nice and lively scene. Unfortunately however the breakfast is no longer as good as I remembered. It does not really strike as a great breakfast, but rather as a so-so breakfast catering to Chinese group tours. For example: (1) while the orange is not fresh it is not even really nice to taste and the glasses are hard to tap from; (2) there is no nice muesli as most other hotel of this class would have; (3) the bowls for the corn flakes are too small to have a comfortable intake; (4) the egg counter does not really deliver very tasty omelets or fried eggs, frankly at home I can do this better; (5) the music does not make the place more comfortable but rather a bit psychedelic. And so on. I have stayed here now for over a week and had breakfast most of the time. My assessment of this was the same every day and I believe that the breakfast is overcharged and no great value for money. The rest of the hotel remains really nice but the prices have gone up so there is more competition now for this class, so next time I will look around what else I can get for this price.

Room Tip: The rooms with view on the interchange have a nice lightfall during the day.

I finally tried this hotel after years of using some of its rivals.

The location is attractive for both SkyTrain and subway systems which makes it a very rare find. Soi Cowboy is just a few metres away and there are many small restaurants nearby not only catering to tourists.

I couldn't fault the room or value for money but was very disappointed with the buffet breakfast. I know how they do it but everything seemed to have the flavour sucked out of it. The coffee deserves a special mention for it's awfulness. C'mon guys; it's 2012. A proper self-service coffee machine with proper beans (BonCafe just doesn't do it I'm afraid) would not add to the staff costs and would make breakfast bearable. As it stands now, I would negotiate a rate without breakfast and eat nearby (hint: there's a fabulous coffee bar/restaurant just a few metres away).

Just 1 night in this Hotel, but was worth it.
Very smooth and slick from the checkin process, introduction to the room and everything else associated with this place.
Great Breakfast buffet.
Special mention to the bed comfort and the pillows......just wonderful!
I would most definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: Upgrade to a Deluxe room if you can. If yo want to enjoy the pool and the sun, be on the deck by 9am...

I stayed here with my family (three kids between 12 and 5) as a Bangkok shopping stopover on the way to Koh Tao. I think this is a good-quality five-star hotel for business. Nice bedding, nice bathrooms, nice gym, great customer service. It probably ever deserves four stars. However, I have deducted a star for the blatant false advertising on the pool. Compare the photo I have posted to the photos on the hotel/Agoda/TripAdvisor) websites. In reality, this pool is a large bathtub with no view.

This hotel was great start to our holiday it met all our needs, great breakfast, rooms was comfortable (nice pillows), clean, modern and great views. The staff were always polite and helpful. The location is good a small walk to the sky train to do your shopping around 10 minutes at the most also about the same walking distance to some great eateries. If you are into going for drink at Soi Cowboy or out for a massage (heaps of massage choices at back of hotel) this would be perfect for you, but for everyone else don't worry as Soi Cowboy is located far enough from the hotel without being a bother. The only 2 complaints are no free computer use or internet and the TV reception is poor (for news updates). They’re only minor things.
We have stayed in BKK 4 times and this has been the best value for money hotel we have stayed at.

The room and service was great. The location is nice but traffic is very heavy even for BKK.
