“For those who don't mind the distance”
Reviewed 17 October 2009

The Bedrooms Boutique is one of the cleanest low-cost hotels I've stayed in. The staff is pleasant, friendly, and conversant in English (which is important for visitors to Thailand). Wi-fi in the rooms is free (and there's a desktop at the lobby for those without personal laptops). Its adjacency to Carrefour (just across the hotel!) is useful to those who desire emergency purchases. The Tony Thai Massage next door is also recommended for day-end relaxation (they close at midnight). Breakfast is so-so standard continental fare, but it's good enough to give you the energy for lunch downtown!

The only drawback is the distance from the hub of tourist action. For those cutting costs, the Skytrain (On Nut station, 500 meters away) is the only viable mode of transportation to and from The Bedrooms; otherwise, a cab to Siam Square would cost you around 100 baht. (I don't recommend taking cabs anywhere in Bangkok, though--the road traffic is mortifying.) Senior citizens will delight in the peaceful environment of The Bedrooms, but they may not be comfortable with walking the distance to the Skytrain.

I have been coming to Bangkok for more years than I care to remember and over the years have stayed in countless hotels. Some that start out great go downhill fast and its time to move on. Have stayed at The Bedrooms several times now and its clear that the management have no intention of letting that happen, its kept scrupulously clean and up to date. The great service is a constant, the new bar/coffee shop is a welcome addition run by some lovely people...great margarita's !
Sometimes I see the comment that the location is not so great as its not in the center, well those who know Bangkok would consider that a plus these days , when people refer to the "center" they are usually talking about the upper Sukhumvit area where most of the hotels are. Its been quite a few years since that was a good area to stay, you have to run the gauntlet of tuk tuk touts, conmen and hookers the moment you leave the door. The eating places are for the most part tourist rip-off places serving indifferent food at high prices and its not even if there were any sights to see in the area!! The shopping malls are still a Skytrain journey away as are sights like the Grand Palace (easy to reach via skytrain and river boat), visiting that part of Sukhumvit is one thing, staying is another.
One of the reasons I like the Bedrooms is its location, its a Thai and expat area where the streetlife is Thai and not just full of stalls selling fake t shirts. Great little market around the corner by the station, sit down get a cold pitcher of beer and some great food from the stalls and chill out and watch the life going on around you. All for a fraction of what this would cost in tourist areas, cross the road and try your hand at one of the 100Baht buffet restaurants and cook your food at the table. THAT is life in Bangkok, none of the hassle of being further up Sukhumvit. And of course the Skytrain is just a short walk away so you can get to anywhere, Tesco and Carreforre with their food malls right on the doorstep.
Think of your own towns back home and you would most likely choose not to spend your time where all the tourists congregate, do the same here and you will get much more out of a trip to Bangkok. The Bedroom is a great little place for those who can see beyond the tourist ghetto. Try it and see.
Just hope I'm not doing myself out of a place to stay next time I return...don't want it to become TOO popular!!!

My Thai wife and I stayed here one night in January and I had stayed at The Bedrooms twice in late 2008. All three stays were in the 1600 baht Deluxe rooms which are very small, with a very small bathroom. The bed is very low to the floor, but bedding and pillows are of good quality. The staff try hard, but the location is weird for many visitors to bangkok. A twelve minute walk from the last BTS terminal station on Sukhumvit, but a non-tollway ride to the new airport. The Carrefour shopping center is a noisy neighbor and in spite of two requests for a quiet room it just was not possible at this hotel in my experience. The a/c compressors of the carrefour shopping center run 24/7 so at least half the rooms are not acceptable if you desire sleep. The complimentary breakfast is terrible by Bangkok Hotel standards. Nothing is cooked to order, fruit drinks terrible, all self serve, even coffee. Given the money spent on decent room fixtures of this hotel a shame to "drop the ball" on food service. The coffee shop on the hotel web site is long gone. For the under 1900 baht a night hotel near Sukhumvit BTS there are plenty of better options in my opinion. The one free internet computer without a printer was of decent speed. It takes a very long time to get to a highway or tollway from this hotel due to how traffic flows onto Sukhumvit. The walking "short cut" to Sukhumvit closes at 10p.m. each night.

If you want an affordable place to stay that does not compromise cleanliness, superb service and convenience, then you should definitely not miss this hotel. It boasts of a contemporary zen-like atmosphere that makes you feel at home right away. The free wi-fi certainly was a big plus, add to that a dvd player (you can borrow movies from the reception) which is handy when you want to relax and there are no good shows on TV. Although the place is quite far from the center of the tourist destinations, getting there is definitely hassle-free as the hotel is a 5 min walk to the Sky Train. Breakfast is also good, a mix of Asian and Western food. But what we are really, really thankful for is the EXCELLENT SERVICE that the management showed us. The marketing manager and the managing partner themselves made sure that our stay will be unforgettable (and no, we are not VIPs, just a couple of backpackers who went on an adventure trip). They took us around, advised the best places and even treated us to a very hearty Thai dinner on our last night. Bottom line, you can’t go wrong with this place. Definitely recommend it, and would go back again and again.

OK...first to thank Tripadvisor for finding this perfect little hotel in BKK. It was recommended by another member I was corresponding with :-)

It is perfect place if you don`t want to be in BKK hustle, but it is also just 5 minutes away from Skytrain station so you are in Siam center for max 20 minutes for 35 Baht ticket! No traffic jam and no negotiation prices for ride.

Rooms are big and clean and you´ve got everything you need. Breakfast is very good and you can find something for everyone. Next door is big shopping mall with food so you can have dinner there. You have also lots of massage salons with Thai massage for only 100 Bht / hour! Stuff is perfect as always in Thailand...so I am certainly coming back if I ever go to Thailand again. I hope so next year :-)

The location is not a plus, if you dont need to go about central, this would be another option.
