Soei has been one of my favorite Thai restaurants for many years. It's a unique restaurant, formerly along the railroad tracks, but now tucked into a neighborhood. Dishes are in general on the strong tasting side - spicy, sour, herbaceous. Some of my favorite dishes to order: fried mackerel heads (kaem pla too แก้มปลาทู), wasabi raw shrimp (goong chae nam pla กุ้งแช่น้ำปลา), roasted freshwater prawn salad (pla goong pao พล่ากุ้งเผา), fried egg salad (yam kai dao ยำไข่ดาว), soft shell crab curry (boo neem pad pongari ปูนิ่มผัดผงกะหรี่).
