“Great hotel, good value, great location”
Reviewed 31 May 2009

Picked this hotel up through Trip Advisor. Was very practical, good location, clean and good service. We stayed in a Junior Suite which had a huge floor to ceiling corner window in the bedroom. I am very sensitive to noise and am easily woken. I slept straight through all of the 5 nights of our stay (except for a very loud thunderstorm). The bedroom is separated from the hall way by the living room which has a solid door in between to close out any noise.

The hotel and room were very modern and well maintained. The washing machine was great for all those hot sweaty days spent around town – we even went home with most of our clothes already washed. There is a good supermarket on Soi 5 which we mainly used because the 7/11 didn’t have much of a range of anything.

The breakfast was the only fault we had with the hotel – and it was a pretty big fault. We recommend not even trying the breakfasts as it will spoil your stay. Breakfast on our 1st morning was very disappointing with lack lustre noodle dishes, stale, luke warm coffee and tea and badly cooked bacon and eggs. The 2nd morning was even worse – same stale, luke warm tea (my repeated pleas for a fresh cup of green tea were met with the statement that it is a set buffet) and the rice and noodles were stone cold and basically inedible. We went out to various cafes for the remainder of our stay and felt much better about the hotel. I think they would be better scrapping the buffet breakfast altogether and perhaps offer a very basic good quality menu breakfast (with a better cook). There were other people at breakfast each day, not many but enough to make it worthwhile running the restaurant.

We travel and live overseas frequently and have stayed in quite a number of hotels and serviced apartments. We recommend this one for either short or longer term stays. It was good value and we preferred this to any of the hotels we have stayed in previously in Bangkok and was also preferable to a 5 star hotel room due to it’s “apartment” amenities.

I stayed at the Adelphi Suites, late April and early May 2009, in an executive one-bedroom apartment. The hotel, staff and location are excellent and the cost very reasonable. I'd highly recommend it to someone looking for a place to stay while on business or leisure. The free wireless access in the lobby is a bonus.

We stayed at the Adelphi Suites for two nights, one night at the beginning of our holiday & one night at the end. The hotel is situated of Sukhumvit Street. The first night we were there we had an apartment on the 9th view with an amazing view. The apartment was very nice, clean and had everything we needed; there was even a washing machine! On the way back, we just had a room which was nice but not as nice as the apartment we had two weeks earlier.

The hotel has a gym and free internet access. The restaurant is okay, not much choice.

The only downside of the hotel was the lack of shower facilities once checked out. As we had a 12 hour flight back to London, we wanted to have a shower but could only use the outdoor pool shower. The water was cold & no privacy so had to shower in my swimwear. I would stay at the hotel again but not at the end of our trip.

We have traveled to Bangkok many times but Adelphi Suites is our personal favorite. We stayed in a one-bedroom serviced apartment which made us really feel like we were home, instead of being cramped in just one room with a bed. There were two flat screen tvs - one in the bedroom and one in the living room. A mini kitchen and washer/dryer combo if you wanted to do a quick load of laundry. One night we were still suffering from jetlag so I just got some noodle soup at one of the stalls on our street, and brought it back to the room, since we had bowls and silverware. There are robes, slippers, iron with ironing board, and lots of closet space and hangers. There was a separate shower stall and tub which we love!

The staff was so attentive and friendly. When we arrived, there were people checking in so we got on line but they had us sit down in the lobby, served us drinks and we checked in while sitting on the couch. They brought up some welcome fruit and flowers shortly after. There are two computers in the lobby with free internet, and free internet in the rooms.

We used the small pool which is very clean and modern. No one seems to use it so we were the only ones there. The mini gym was also well equipped.

Breakfast was also included. There were eggs to order along with cereal, yogurt, hot Asian selections, toast, croissants, etc.

Also, the hotel is so conveniently located off Sukhumvit and walking distance to the BTS skytrain. We didn't have to worry about sitting in traffic and just zoomed around in the airconditioned skytrain.

My husband and I can't wait to come back and stay here again. Thank you to the great staff for everything!

Everyone who's been to Thailand knows that the Thai people generally have a high standard for friendliness and helpfulness. Every single member of the staff at Adelphi seemed to exceed the already high standard. My stay at Adelphi was--by far--my best experience throughout my 3-week trip in Thailand, including a night at the 4 Seasons.

The quality & cleanliness of the room was excellent. The amenities were a nice touch, and the close proximity to Sukhumvit road & the BTS made it a great location to set-out for the rest of the city.

I highly recommend you consider this as your next stop while in Bangkok--you won't be disappointed.

Agree with all the positive reviews, written about Adelphi Suites!
Had to stay in Bangkok for 3 days on the way back from Laos & came across Adelphi browsing the tripadvisor reviews.
Location is top, just 1 min off Sukhuvmit Road, close to sky train, with plenty of restaurants, cafes, food stalls, massage places around.
The hotel is modern & clean, with excellent safety features. The studio room i had was very spacious, all the facilities from the tv to the fridge were new & in perfect working order. Large and comfortable bed, good size modern bathroom with all the amenities, complimentary tea/coffee/water.
Important for me was the possibility to open the windows to get some air, as i suffer from air-con allergy & cannot stay in fully airconditioned place for a long time. Usually its impossible to open the window in the large business/leisure hotels in this part of the world, so i was more than happy to have chosen Adelphi Suits.
The staff was attentive, courteous & professional, helpful at all times, accommodating to all needs & giving helpful answers/suggestions. Breakfast (included in the room rate) was fine, not a large selection, but fresh& good quality food with 1-2 different dishes every day.
There is free internet in the lobby.
The small gym, located on 16 floor was excellent, clean with all the machines in working order and with the nice city wiev. There is an outdoor pool with few sunbeds. Was practicing my yoga early morning looking at the orchids around the pool & skyscrapers opposite, watching sunrise..... so calm & serene... no-one there to disturb.... a perfect start of the day....
The management clearly pays constant attention to every detail and staying focused on customer satisfaction & retention.
As many other travellers, who mentioned it in their reviews, i have been to Bangkok several times and stayed in different hotels (more expensive, but with no chance to open the window :-). Now i found my perfect place and i will without a doubt stay in Adelphi next time i am in Bangkok!

Wow! It's new for us to know that some customers must open the windows to avoid air-con allergy and it is great that we match this need.

By the way, thank you for your long and valuable review (almost an A4 page).

We are looking forward to seeing you again, and hope the next visit will be soon.

Warm Regards,

This hotel was total comfort.

Hotel staff were extremely friendly since day one.

We stayed 10th floor in deluxe suite. Two televisions, with cable :D. Great bathroom!! with bathtub and beautiful shower (plenty of hot water, luxury after cold bucket showers up north :P)

Great location, so close to BTS station (Nana). as well as night markets, nightlife is so wonderful. Also a short walk from Robinsons, McDonalds and Boots pharmacy.

Facilities were very convenient such as internet, gym and pool.

Breakfast was very pleasant. Good selection of bakery items and order on demand (eggs mmm)

Definitely stay there again and highly recommend to anyone who enjoys comfort!!
