“Good location basic hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 June 2013

This hotel is in a great location - about a five min walk from Koh San road but a nice distance to get some peace and quiet.
The staff are generally quite friendly and let us check in early when we arrived at 8am.
There is wifi but only in common areas and that can be sketchy which is quite annoying.
Rooms have AC and hot shower but are small and very basic.
Could really benefit from some hooks on the wall as there is only a half size wardrobe so no where to hang jackets or towels.

Room Tip: There is no lift so might be beneficial to get a room on lower levels.

Bangkok was our first stop on a very long trip around Southeast Asia so we wanted somewhere clean and comfortable but affordable. Erawan house was perfect, just a 2 min walk from the busy khao San road and an easy boat trip and sky train ride from the heart of the city. The staff we're so helpful and friendly and we felt safe there. They had lockers for valuables, wifi was available all over the hostel although it was a little touch and go in our room so we sometimes sat in the public area to use it. The private bathroom was clean enough and the shower was warm. We really enjoyed our stay!

This is such a great place to stay just off the Khao San Road, so no noise at night!
The hotel has 5 floors with very clean sheets, pillows and towels - basics but you would not believe how hard this is to find in South East Asia!
The staff here are excellent and we have been using this place every time we are in Bangkok as you get that personal touch and you know you will have a good stay.
There is also an excellent travel service just as you walk into the reception that we have brought trips & visas from and never had any issues at all.

Having arrived from a long flight we were greeted by very friendly staff who gave us two bottles if water and checked us in although it was only 10:30am. The room is basic but has everything you would need and the aircon was a lifesaver! Bed was comfortable room was quiet and the shower had good pressure. Location was ideal, on a lane off rammbuttri rd also only 5 mins from the madness of khao san.Really enjoyed the area as there are lovely market stalls, bars and great restaurants in area.Phra athit even better for restaurants.Would definitely recommend this guesthouse and would stay again.

The room (double room with air conditioning) was basic and a little tired but it was clean and comfortable- and the aircon worked a charm after a day in Bangkok, so it is definitely worth paying a little extra for a room with air conditioning!
The bathroom was a little worn but, again, it was clean and the shower worked brilliantly, with no shortage of hot water.
There were no insects/ bugs/ nasties in the room apart from a few tiny ants in the sink when I accidentally spilt iced tea, but they were not a problem.
The staff are friendly, helpful and always have a smile whenever they see you. Upon arrival we were given a free bottle of ice cold water and I had my bag carried to the room for me.
We originally booked in for two nights then eventually extended our stay to a week and the staff were very helpful, letting us pay night by night and keep the same room.
Another nice touch is the posters warning guests about various scams and risks for tourists (eg tuk tuks and fake Buddhist holidays) and the reception staff were happy to give useful advice regarding taxis etc.
The area is ideal as it is a two-minute walk from Khao San road, but it's own little street is a lovely place to wander the little stalls and have dinner as it is considerably calmer than Khao San road.
The only thing I would say is, if you sit next to the windows of the smoking areas on each floor at night, use insect repellent- I was covered up and still got covered in bites!

Me and my Mom stayed at the Erawan House for 7 days. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Erawan House lies in the the heart of Bangkok, you can go to anywhere from Erawan easily. You can walk to The Grand Palace, you can walk to Phra Athit pier for cruising along the Chao Phraya river... PERFECT!!! ^^

Me & my wife stayed here during Songkran 2012 for 3 nights and had a repeat booking for 1 night only just last April 2013 just in time for our flight the next day for Manila.

The location of the hostel is along a small "soi" or street along Chanasongkhram Phra-artid Rd. The corner of the street has a 7-11 convenience store, then just a couple of walks, at your left, with a tailoring shop in front & a big signage, you won't be lost.

The hostel is just a few blocks from the famous backpackers haven, Khaosan Road. And because of the relatively not-so-far location, rest-assured you will have a good night's rest away from the noise of pubs & late-night party along Khaosan.

Rooms are pretty decent & clean at a fairly reasonable price of 750baht ($25) per night for a double room ensuite, w/ free 2 bottles (500ml) bottled water. If you need internet, wifi is only available at common areas, particuarly at lounge areas per floor & at the reception area.

Overall, it's a good place to stay & would come back again if given the chance to visit Bangkok.

Room Tip: book a room on lower levels, because there's no elevator/lift up to the highest floors (4th - 5t...
