“A must stay in Bangkok”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 July 2011

This hotel was just perfect for us! We wanted to stay in a cool and a bit classy place: this was a perfect deal.
The purple room was beautiful; the staff was super nice with us: polite, helpful and always available. The whole hotel is just a really cool place to stay at and the breakfast was really good as well. Seven hotel is a must stay in Bangkok, no doubt about that: we'll come back!

Adorable little boutique hotel in Bangkok... a bit off the beaten path from the traffic and hustle and bustle.
The service was wonderful! We came down for breakfast in the morning and everything was so delish and fresh... fruits that I had never seen or even heard of! One of the front desk girls even gave our cab driver her cell phone number in case we needed any translation while we were out and about!

Room Tip: Purple room is super cool

I found Seven in the Lonely Planet and was very pleased. The staff were all very nice and helpful. They gave us tons of tips on getting around, where to eat etc. The room was clean, trendy, and bed was comfortable. We stayed in the blue room. The room was a bit small but we had our own balcony. It is a city so I guess I wasn't expecting a huge room. Its like living in a trendy, comfortable apartment of your hip friend. Our flight left at 6am so when we left the hotel they were gracious enough to pack us a breakfast to go. So nice! I loved all the resources they had in the lobby on how to find out what's really going on in Bangkok.

I definitely recommend this place for couples looking for a nice escape from Bangkok. Thank you, Seven!

I stayed here for two nights with my friend in July 2011 and had very mixed feelings about it the whole time.

Let me start with saying that the staff is very friendly and personal and that in itself makes me want to give the place a good wrap. Most the reviews here seemed to have been based on that.

However, I would hesitate to recommend this hotel. Let me explain...

The hotel is tiny, has only 6 rooms. small reception area on the bottom floor and one to two rooms per floor therein. No lift (which is understandable due to size if hotel) only a small staircase which wasn't easy to maneuver with suitcases.

The floors are of wood & polished concrete which is not great for sound. You can clearly hear EVERYONE'S movements around the place. On top of that there was a family with a young child staying and we woke up numerous times to the child screaming at night, morning & evenings. Due to the size and design of the hotel I really dont think it should accept children. There simply isn't enough soundproofing.

We stayed in the green room which was beautifully decorated. It had good size bathroom, robes & slippers, the usual safe, tv, DVD and cable with large collection of DVD's at reception. Comfortable beds and great lighting. Free wi-fi which worked well.

I think the rooms need a bar fridge though, especially as the hotel has no bar or restaurant.

The breakfast is not elaborate but of very good quality - fresh croissant, yogurt & fresh fruit with toast and plunger coffee, tea and fruit juice.

Again, I cannot fault the service. The girls downstairs were wonderful, friendly & helpful.

However, for the same price, next time I will choose luxury over trendy...

Thank you very much for your review. We appreciate your time for providing us your comments about Seven. Guests are a vital part of the process of making Seven a better hotel. I completely understand your frustration as a result of the disturbance to your stay by the young child of another guest, and please accept our sincere apology. We appreciate your recommendations, and are looking at solutions to tackle the root of the problem itself, namely soundproofing. Although it is difficult to change our design features such as original concrete and reclaimed wooden floors as not only are they more hygienic, more beautiful and more 'Thai' than carpets, they are also part of Seven's "green" and sustainable policy, but please be assured that we will definitely be looking at alternative soundproofing solutions for the problem.

We appreciate your comments about the quality and uniqueness of our rooms, breakfast, and especially our service, and we wish to thank you. We strongly believe that people choose a smaller boutique hotel like Seven over a luxury chain hotel because we are different, unique and above all personal. From the start we intended to be more like a 'home' than a 'hotel' and our staff more like local friends, eager to share the best that their city has to offer, rather than engaging with guests in an overly formal and faceless manner. What we lack in size and facilities we strive to make up for in other ways, mainly providing our guests a truly memorable travel experience.

Now we know it is not so in your case and we wish to sincerely apologise once again. Thank you very much for pointing out something we need to improve upon.

When I stayed at “Sleep at Seven” in Bangkok, I felt I was stepping into an oasis in the middle of the bustling Thai capital. But it is more than that. Bangkok is awash in hotels of all shapes and sizes, but tucked into a cul-de-sac off Sukhumvit Road, this town house turned B&B is a little hotel design gem, with original Asian-themed wall graffiti in each of the six guest rooms and polished salvaged-wood floors. It was a great stay. The breakfast in the morning was a great start of the day. The hotel staff treated you like a visitor to their home, than standard hotel service. all in all, it is a place to be highly recommended.

Hotel staff is very nice and friendly. They gave me a lot of suggestion about my following trip in Bangkok. 7 Hotel is like my second home in Bangkok. If you are couple , here will be your best choice. If you are solo traveler, you can still enjoy it.

Seven is a place for the privileged few, with just six couture rooms on four levels. It epitomizes the feeling of a stay in a stylish private home rather than a hotel a home that is modern, but ultimately very Thai. The multi-purpose "seventh space" - reception/art gallery/bar/lounge and each of the six guest rooms are inspired by the deep-rooted Thai tradition of relating each day of the week to a specific god of the planets and colours - red, yellow, pink, green, orange, blue and purple. ... more   less
