“When you are riced out . . . go to Offshore”
Reviewed 7 October 2013

I have been visiting this place since it opened maybe 10 years ago and the bar before that. Walk through the door and you are transported into an English Fish and Chip shop even the fryers etc are authentic. More important the food is very good, just like home, in fact exactly the same!! If there are any other establishments like this in Bangkok I have never seen them and I the prices are relatively cheap.
There is a restaurant just through another door but I always ask for my food to be served in the adjoining bar which I always find more comfortable. Whether you need sustenance after a night on Soi Cowboy or just can't eat anymore spicy seafood salad with noodle soup Offshore is the place to head for especially if you are from UK.
Of course if you don't like the "fish and chip shop" experience then this is not for you but many do and I would always recommend this establishment.

“A happy interlude”
Reviewed 18 September 2013

The Off shore is a Bangkok institution suspended in time. Started in 1983, when you go inside it is a time warp. Whereas everything around it has changed, it remains the same, which is not a bad thing. When one wants to escape from the madness of bangkok, this is a welcome spot. If you can get beyond the decor, the Offshore provides a cool, comfortable spot to catch your breath, recharge, drink and of course enjoy the best fish and chips around. All very reasonably priced-great value for money and taste excellent! Good old school music, no bars girls hassling you and no rowdy patrons. Cider on tap an added plus.

“Quality Fish and Chips”
Reviewed 16 September 2013

Almost certainly the best 'traditional' fish and chips in Bangkok if not Thailand. Cook to order and decent chips as well as I nice batter what more could you want. Not the most high-end dining experience but for a taste of the UK this is the place in Bangkok.

“Great chippy - smelly, run down but great all the same”
Reviewed 10 November 2012

The place smells of stale fat, the tables are Formica and the whole place is run down.. But the fish is great, the chips are too - they have salt and vinegar, mushy pease and bread and butter.
Not for dates, romance, ambience or atmosphere - but for good old fashioned fish and chips it can't be beat.
Also does take away wrapped which is great when you can't be bothered to cook after a few pints at the pub

“Get Away From The Hustle and Bustle”
Reviewed 30 July 2012

A nice break from the heat and noise of Bangkok. One of those bars where you want to grab some fish and chips (with all the vinegar and ketchup you want), have a few cold beers with your food at the bar and feel a big sigh of relief from that long air flight you just had. Being from America, I don't have a clue what some of the regulars are saying half the time, but they are friendly and easy going. It's one of those places that is hard just to have a few. If you are going to stay and throw down a few more beers, try some of the onion rings to munch on as they are simple but very tasty. Then you can send one of the Thai girls out to bring you some minced pork over rice and have a few more cold beers. See what I'm saying, it is hard to leave this fun little place.
