The word "boutique" is the next best thing that lured me, beside the hotel's low priced rooms. I must say it was our mistake to allow ourselves to be convinced by the term "boutique". The price itself should have hinted on the poorly maintained rooms.
The first room we checked in had the toilet bowl gurgling human waste 5 mins within our arrival. Although we were not expecting any red-carpet treatment when we travel, but certainly not a brown carpet and specially not in our room.
The second room's aircondition was down and cannot be rectified. Lights were down too.
Even the final room was poorly ventilated with a superbly weak aircondition.
We later found out from a fellow traveller that we had not hit the highest record for room change. He had changed 5 rooms, with each room having its unique problem like it's the hotel's attraction, and he's still changin.. He complained that he even heard rooster's cry from one of the rooms.
In general, the rooms are poorly lit. You would be better off to bring your own lamps on your trip if you are staying there.
Breakfast was simple and acceptable in Bangkok's standard. Staff was generally friendly and attentive when called upon.
Location was very convenient I must say. It's right smack in the heart of all shoppings - Prathunam.
To be very honest, it's definitely not a hotel cut out for elderly traveller, nor a family gunning to have a happy trip. The stay there will just ruin everything.
Arrive at the hotel with the mindset that - whatever you are going to receive is whatever you have paid for. Then you will feel better when you find an extra raisin on your cupcake during breakfast.
I have stayed across many worse off hotels in SEA, that...I didn't even bother to write a review for them, for I think it is unfair for them if I do so. But this one I did not expect because the hotel is rather new, and for the rooms to be deteriorated to this state, it just shows how much heart the management has put in to running the business. What else for a hotelier if you don't take care of your rooms? The flower prints on the toilet papers?

Room Tip: flip a coin.

We like this hotel, mainly due to location at Pratunam markets. It is safe, accessible most of the place by walking distance. Pricing is fair, with the room size and facilities available. If you looking at budget and simple nice hotel, please consider this hotel and location. For those who like shopping and enjoy night market shop, this is good location for you!

The price is relative to the room and service you get.

Perks:
Very near the cheap stalls of fashion clothings, open from 0200H-1000H
Near the metro station.

Cons:
The hotel is old.
Noisy due to very near the metro station.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room.

Great location to Pratunam markets, restaurants, money exchange, etc. the hotel is tucked in behind Baiyoke Sky Hotel, the service including tours booking was good. The rooms & A/C are average, needing a facelift, a contrast to the photos & description on the website and to the rest of the Baiyoke group of hotels. Free 1hr/ day Wifi use was complicated as you have to log-out everytime to conserve your minutes, TV screen is slightly small, but the beds are comfortable.

I stayed four nights at Baiyoke Boutique Hotel in Bangkok and was really quite disappointed. I'm a budget traveller and don't expect a high degree of quality, so it is an achievement to actually disappoint me.
To start with the positive, though, the room was comfortable and mostly clean. The bed was nice and firm, and my pillow was fine. The airconditioning worked reasonably well, although it was not easy to adjust, and kept the room rather too cold. The room had a kettle for those weirdos who must have hot drinks even in this sauna, a small fridge, a desk with a stool and a tiny, tiny television.
The location is also quite good. It is just behind the Baiyoke Sky Hotel, and a short walk puts you in the middle of lively night markets with incredible street vendors selling wonderful food.
I was, however, disappointed by the standard to which the rooms are kept and some of the facilities. The lobby, lifts and hallways are not airconditioned, so you get no relief from the heat until you are in your room. The dining room where breakfast is served is very poorly airconditioned, so it is uncomfortable too.
We had been travelling for some time when we arrived and needed laundry done. The service was good, but the price was extremely high. If you can find an external laundry service, use it.
The shower head is barely 1.5 metres from the floor of the bath. This is fine for very short people, but as the average height of a human being is 1.7 metres it doesn't take a genius to figure out that a shower rose should be higher than that. I'm not especially tall, but I had to kneel in the shower to get my hair wet; very uncomfortable indeed.
The hotel provides wifi at a daily rate of 350 baht, according to the card in the room; but elsewhere the charge is listed as 450 baht. Inconsistent pricing is characteristic, but if you're planning to visit, a SIM card with unlimited data for 7 days and a little phone credit is available for 99 baht from the Platinum Mall 10 minutes walk away (though even there you need to be able to demonstrate that you know the price before you'll get it that cheap).
The hotel offers a 'shuttle' service to a couple of spots in the area, but oddly, they only take you there. You have to find your own way back!
We had a buffet breakfast included with our stay. This was mostly disappointing as well, but they did keep freshly fried eggs and omelettes up as well as Asian style hot breakfast. We couldn't help but laugh on the first day to see little knobs of butter floating in cold water, and this was consistent throughout. We did find that small packages of butter could be obtained from the shop in the Baiyoke Sky quite cheaply, so we purists needed a little trip across the road before breakfast!
The pool across the road at the Baiyoke Sky is great, and since it's in the tower, the service is good too. This was one of the few redeeming features of this rather tired hotel.

Room Tip: Go to another hotel.
