“The Best German in Bangkok”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 May 2014

German restaurants are few and far between in Bangkok but there is Bei Otto and my wife and I enjoyed a grand German meal there. We dined on pork knuckle and sausages and enjoyed every bite. The menu is extensive and authentic and hidden down Sukhumvit soi 20. You can sit indoors or outdoors, up to you. Well worth a visit if you like German cuisine and also if you have never had German but would like to try.

“Nice german food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 April 2014 via mobile

The restaraunt is very unique, it has a cafe attached to the diner. You can have quiet or crowded dining environment.

The food is ok, as authentic as it could be.

Overall ok place. A place for beer.

“Diner by Bei Otto”

We are coming ti this restaurant since 1994 . It is the best German restaurant in Bangkok.
The atmosphere is pleasant. Special the beerstube.
The food, wines and beers are very tasteful
There is also a shop next to the restaurant where you can bread, German sausage, coldcuts and more

“What happened to BeiOtto?”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 April 2014

Since the change of ownership we experienced a serious drop in quality of all bakery and butchery items while prices jumped up 25%.
No real German food oasis treat no more.

“Strawberry Rhubarb Cake”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 April 2014

We came across this little cafe while somewhat lost walking near our hotel. Because we were parched from walking in circles in the heat, we decided to stop for a beverage and were immediately mesmerized by the bakery counter. What a selection.

The counter help was probably becoming weary of our asking her to explain so many items in the display case, but she didn't indicate any displeasure. When it turned out that one cake/pie slathered in strawberried had fresh rhubarb filling, our questions ended!

The cake/pie was just perfect ... so light it was barely there. A large slice was about $4.50 US. Hubby also ordered a latte, which was about $3 US. The bill for two items came to over $8 including service charge, so it's a little pricey, but oh so good.

You can actually dine here in their restaurant area, separate from the bakery counter. Maybe next time.
