“Good wheat beer”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

Visited on a Saturday afternoon to have some good old German wheat beer. A simple & small place, it has a restaurant section with a bar as well as a "delicatessen" section. Offering a varied collection of culinary delights, Bei Otto is a good German pub to have a drink in. We had some pretzels, cold cuts and pastries - which were all excellent. The beers were great.

“Good all round. Nothing special but reasonable”
Reviewed 7 August 2014 via mobile

Visited in August with a group of colleagues. The restaurant is Bavarian style and feels rather old and dilapidated. Not a problem but I wouldn't come here for a special night.
Starters of cured ham and smoked salmon we're uninspiring - fine but nothin special a nice bread selection.
Main courses were again ok. The smallest pork knuckle I've ever seen though. I'm used to huge slabs of meat but these were tiny. Tasty, but just not enough meat. Nice sausages and tasty dumplings.

Desserts wet down well, service was ok.

German beer very nice on draught but not cheap, 240 baht (8usd) for 500 ml.

All in all solid German fare, not inspiring but ok.

“Best Draft Weiss Bier in Asia”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

Great atmosphere. Great authentic German food. Try the Schweinhaxa and sauerkraut served by attractive Thai girls in Bavarian dress washed down by the best draft Weiss Bier in Asia.

“A little taste of Germany”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

I've been to Bei Otto many times. The restaurant has several different sections including a beer garden, a cafe, a wine cellar and a restaurant.
The cafe is great for breakfast or, later in the day, coffee and cake. There's a wide selection of freshly made German cakes available and coffee from Dallmayr is used so you can easily imagine that you are spending time in southern Germany!

“A little disappointing.”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

The positive is that the breakfast is different than many other places. Homemade cold cuts, cheese slices and delicious jam. Less good the orange juice (too sweet, no refilling) and the coffee, which reminded me of America. Also the service is very slow and the few tables in this not very stressful time were cluttered with dirty dishes a long time. Since there is much to do, because the prices are not cheap (approx. 400 Baht!).
