My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in February 2009. The hotel is very clean and modern. Our room was on the top floor and had views of Bangkok - not exactly picturesque but nice enough. The room was lovely, bathroom also very nice (no bath as space is at a premium). The hotel is near both the metro and the skytrain so you can get anywhere from here reasonably easily. If it's sightseeing in the region of the grand palace you are after then it's a bit long-winded (two trains and a boat). We liked this hotel and would only really complain about the pool and fitness centre - both are very small. We never used the pool becvause it is so small and apparently full all the time (but we stayed over valentines day so maybe this isn't always the case). The fitness area was nothing to write home about. We didn't try the restaurant. For the price - this place is good all in all.

We stayed at the Park Plaza Sukhumvit for 4 nights in late Feb 09 and having read the reviews, it deserves to be # 1.

The staff's attention to detail and willingness to accommodate to our needs deserves mention as it was highly commendable.

One night, we walked into the refreshment area just after mid-night and were quite hungry. Thinking dinner would be finished we were surprised by the staff's generous hospitality to cook us all a meal (at the 50% discounted rate). He even went out of his way to move tables together, have the flowers in vases all facing the same way, cutlery in line, tables sturdy, bring drinks from the self-help bar over to us etc etc. Their attention to detail is outstanding. At breakfast the next morning, the chefs gave us a complimentary noodle soup. It turns out this was the staff's lunch which they were cooking up but because we made comment that it looked so tasty, they brought us a sample to try. This was such a nice gesture.

The rooms are slightly noisy from other guests' doors closing but quiet from the street below.

Location is excellent and so convenient - its less than a 5 min walk to the Asok skytrain station. As per other reviews, if you do catch a taxi to the hotel it is wise to show the address to taxi drivers (in Thai) as it can be confusing for them to get to.

All in all a very enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend to others.

I stayed at Park Plaza for 3 nights, and thought it was great.

The design and aesthetics in the rooms and throughout the hotel are very modern and stylish, the hotel internet is free and good quality, and it's in a good location close to the skytrain.

The breakfast was mediocre/overpriced, but other than that I had no complaints.

This boutique hotel is immaculate, with beautiful furnishings throughout, a lovely restaurant, free internet and free juice, peanuts, candy and cookies all day. The management is helpful and responsive. The only criticism I have is not being able to have a late check out without paying for another 1/2 day. Given the economy, they could throw that in without sacrificing much on their part. Nevertheless it deserves its high rating

I think that discribes my expereince at the Park Plaza. I booked the hotel thru their site and they gave a very competitive rate and even an upgrade. I wanted to stay there just because of its high rating on TrapAdvisor. I usually stay somewher else, which is also very close to the Park Plaza but I wanted to give the best hotel a shot.

I had few incidents that I will not be sharing here becase they do not matter anymore. I sent an e-mail to the hotel sharing my expreince there and their response was so prompt and I am ever so greatful for their attention and broadmind to take and accept what I said positively.

I just want to say a BIG thank you to Marco and Busaro (I think I spelled both right). You are the best. Thank you for being so kind with me.

After reading all the good reviews about the hotel, a friend and i decided to try this hotel out. We booked 3 nights and got the stay 3 nights pay 2 nights promo rate which we thought was quite a good deal. To our dismay, we felt that this hotel was somewhat overrated!

We found the hotel lobby extremely small, as are the other public spaces like the pool and gym. But we had no real issue with this. The hotel service we thought was rather dissapointing. Firstly, none of the staff at any time during our stay took the initiative to offer information about the facilities, the hidden free internet at the sitting area or the free refreshments on Level 2. In fact everything was left for us to inquire or stumble upon ourselves.

The good thing about the hotel is the decor for the room and bathroom which is quite modern and elegant. In fact, the windows had double glazing to cut out the sound from the main road below which we thought was a nice touch. Unfortunately, they forgot to insulate the doors!!! In the evenings we could hear loud rustling hoises outside our door. The worst incident occurred on the second night where we heard noises continously thorougout the night. At first we thought people were trying to break into our room or perhaps trying the wrong room, but each time we saw/found no one and started to think if it could be something else. These strange noises went on for some time, and after awhile we became really uncomfortable.

We decided to check out the next day (thereby forfeiting our free night). The front office said they would check out the noises but she never came back to us with an explanation or even an apology!!! In the end the rate we paid for 2 nights was even more expensive that other hotels in the same category. So think twice before staying here.

Can only echo the other positive reviews here. A few quibbles:

- sound proofing between rooms could be better
- had some problems with minibar on check-out
