“A peaceful little oasis in the heart of the city!”

Excellent location, correct prices, nice breakfast... They have a swimming pool which is really necessary to survive Bangkok which is smogy, misty and crazily warm!
We spent 5 days and we are really satisfied with this hotel.

Room Tip: Definitely worth to book your room in the main building!

This place is a gem! We stayed in Bangkok only one night, but would have stayed longer here! Located on the river, very friendly staff, very nice rooms- overall impressed!

In the morning, before breakfast, one of their staff members pointed out a "river monster" on the river! So cool!

We will be back here if ever in Bangkok again!

The hotel is within walking distance to the river, ferry, and even the Grand Palace, and the temples. The hotel faces a canal and not a street, thus should be very quiet. But this was not quite the case, since the traffic on the closest street is very busy and the sound of cars and motorbikes carries up to the hotel. The room was spacious, well equipped and clean. The service, and the breakfast buffet were excellent. We ate dinner twice at the hotel and were pleased. When walking around town and the tourist areas, signs warn of pick pockets and sham artists. We encountered two such situations. To guard against fraud, simply refuse to believe anything you are told by supposedly friendly strangers. The public ferry system is an excellent and very cheap way to get to the sights, like the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and Wat Arun. There is no need to buy a daily tourist ticket since individual fares are so low. Watch for the orange triangular flag of the public ferries.

A lovely 4 nights at the start of our gap year. Greeted with a glass of juice after 18 hours travelling and immediately made welcome. Clichéd but Lamphu really is an "oasis of calm" in the middle of such a busy city- the pool, in particular, provided a great relief from the noise and heat of Bangkok.
The room was spotless and very comfy, the only downsides were an aged shower and noisy air conditioning- this was fixable however. The restaurant provided a basis buffet breakfast, but more than enough to fill you up for a days trudging. There are better places to eat, but if you're not too fussed about quality the price is very reasonable.
All in all a very pleasant experience with great service and lots of smiles, would definitely return!

My families (two adults and two children 9 & 7) 5th trip to Thailand and each time in Bangkok we stay at Lamphu tree house, the kids would riot if we tried to stay anywhere else.

The amazing buffet breakfast is a great way to start the day and the pool is worth it's weight in gold to deal with the heat of Bangkok.

Nice hotel tucked out the way on one of the canals. Staff are very friendly and the rooms are basic but comfortable, clean and tidy. Location is very good for exploring some of the main sites on foot. Definitely print the map off to give to the Taxi drivers as its slightly hard to find the first time you visit.

Room Tip: Old building

Having been to BKK many times before I wanted to stay somewhere a little different, still close enough to Khao San Road but not directly on it and still at a reasonable price. With the previous rave reviews I though Lamphu Tree House would be the perfect place. We booked the cheapest room located in the Old Building (which was fine) however the room was tiny (single person size) and for the price, far too expensive in comparison with what is available elsewhere. We asked to move twice however they were fully booked. The place is clean, the staff friendly, breakfast is good, the walk from Khao San is safe (although I wouldn't do it as a single female) but if you stay pay the extra.
