This very odd but enchanting place is a collection of Thai traditional buildings - reconstructed full scale or 2/3 scale, or moved from elsewhere to here, or reimagined by the person who created the site in authentic ways. (They give you a map that tells you which buildings are which.)

One gets around the very large site by (free/included in price) bicycle, or golf cart. I thought the bike was perfect. the place is too big to usefully walk. i took four hours riding around on a bike, going into buildings etc, and could have spent a couple more to see it all without taking everything it had to offer.

Besides lots of impressive temples and palaces, it has villages in different styles, most of them apparently inhabited, at least during opening hours, with little restaurants and shops. So there are lots of places to stop and rest while touring, for a meal or - if you have not shopped yourself out already - tourist stuff.

A lot of it is not 'genuine' in the sense of a historical building on its historical site. Some of it, as noted, is genuine but transported to the site. It is all done in the spirit of teaching Thais their own culture and history, so it is done with great care and affection.

This was far and away the best thing I saw in Bangkok. If you go, don't skimp on the time you give it.

( had a hotel travel person book me a car to take me there - an hour from Khao San at least - and wait for me. In November 2018, the car and entry ticket (provided as a package) cost me 2050 baht and was worth every penny.

We were taken here by our taxi driver that we used for the day to take us round various sites in Bangkok and was his suggestion to take us there. You could easily spend a day there as it covers a large area and has lots of opportunities to stop and look at the buildings. We planned to cycle round but it was so hot and humid we decided to hire a golf cart instead and had headsets in English to guide us round. We went on a weekday and the place was empty so hard to see how it could be crowded as it is so big. There are lots of places for refreshments but I would take water with you as it is very hot with little shelter. It’s a great place to visit and lots of space for little ones to run round.

We went here thinking it would be an actual ancient city. Unfortunately it’s more of a “walk down history lane” reproduction of various historical or notable structures and places. Having said that, it was still worthwhile and very interesting.

The facility is laid out in the shape of a map of Thailand, and you see samples from wherever you are on the map.

Some are simply reproductions. Others have actually been moved here from their original location.

Don’t bother with the tram, as they don’t stop and let you explore the exhibits. Take one of their very wonky (but free) bikes and do your own thing with the audio tour instead.

I also recommend stopping for a meal at the floating market.

Love the entire place. I would recommended to visit this city on the weekday if you want to enjoy the architectural design without too many people .Weekend are more crowded but full with merchants at the floating market. Highly recommend.

This is one of those day out experiences that add heaps to a holiday in Bangkok. If you live in Bangkok you’ll love going again and again with children and visitors. We cycled, walked, took lots of pictures and felt like we travelled the country all una day.

Great place to visit as it will take you to mini replicas of Thailand regions ,you have options to ride a bicycle, tour with an open bus or rent a golf cart, recommended.

My wife and I visited here in July of 2018.
We caught a train to the end of the line and then a taxi another 15 minutes and we discovered this great fun place. Hire a golf cart and explore the Ancient City.

My partner and I visited the Ancient City on our last day in Bangkok and found that it was not worth the journey and relatively steep entry fee. The city itself is sited a fair distance away from the city centre (we took a twenty-minute taxi ride from the end of the BTS rail line), and the buildings themselves in the city are not originals. The city is undeniably beautiful and educational, with an audio guide telling you more about each of the replica buildings (copies of buildings from around the country). However, as we personally are more interested in landscapes and seeing originals, rather than a curated, at times gimmicky set up, we were not terribly impressed.

Nonetheless, a nice morning out cycling around a pretty site. Which we would not have paid the same amount for again.

Whether it is you first visit to BKK or your 50th, this is a MUST SEE attraction. There is a modest entry fee per person and for a slight bit more you can take your vehicle inside as well. It is a HUGE park with dozens of exhibits and attractions. You can rent a bike or hire a cart with a guide if you don't want to drive around in your own vehicle. The main section of the park is essentially a map of Thailand with smaller versions of regional landmark bldgs and attractions. In short, you can get to SEE ALL of Thailand in a few hours! Worth multiple visits to truly see and appreciate it all!

Our daughter loves this place. It is located out of downtown. We have to drive here. This place is charming. You could walk but it would be too tired. They give you bicycles to bike for no cost. Or you could rent a golf cart to drive inside.

There are many places around Thailand that are built here. They look similar but smaller. But they are big enough to get inside. Many temples from the north, the south and so on.

You could have lunch here. The food is not expensive at all. There is a floating market that you will enjoy eating the local food here.

By far, you could visit many beautiful places in Thailand here and enjoy your cycling as an exercise.

You could spend the whole day here easily.
